i thought it was common knowledge that they didn't know (until recently) the exact day/month of Jesus' birthday and that they chose the date for Christmas because they felt it would be a good time to celebrate

They chose the date because it was the date of the Pagan's Winter Solstice, the holiday the christians stole and renamed christmas.

@John88LC Christmas day was set in December to help pagans who already celebrated Winter Solstice convert to Christianity. A lot of minor changes and additions were made in Christianity just for the sake of conversions.

My daughter watches SNL every Saturday, regardless of whatever is going on. She adores Weekend Update and Seth Meyers, and @cvstar411--my daughter was thinking the exact same thing!

I've barely watched SNL since the mid-late 90's. Everything has turned to a PC, goofy, "charming" form of comedy, that's meant to spawn movies, away from the late 70's / 80's style of abrasive, almost black comedy.

In my mind, most SNL sketches pander to a new "market-hip", young liberal type crowd; often whom parrot PC views, are into ironic stuff and laugh at Snorg Tees (BTW, before anybody sends me flack, I'm a "liberal" myself)
