Well,I have always loved the Daytona,ever since I saw one in A Star Is Born and Gumball Rally,but it is a very hard to drive car for everyday and not very forgiving in the wrong hands,and right now a concourous winning example of a Daytona Spyder(like in the movies) goes for 1.5-2 mil$.For my money now,the 599!a front engine V12, two seater,as Enzo invesioned a ferrari to be,like the Daytona,and a much more civlized car than the Daytona,would you agree?

Front-engined Ferraris always appealed to me more. The 1960's GTO may have been the most beautiful one, in my view, but the 250 TR race-car is also up there. If I owned that 599, I'd be reluctant to park it anywhere for over 3 minutes! I own an old (Ron) Butler cobra replica, and people touch it all the time----even had one brass-hole sit in it while I was in a store!!! Unbelievable. And that old sportscar is NOTHING compared to these Ferraris.

the dbs has a better image i guess, but if you want a truly brilliant car (at least in terms of engineering), i'd go for the 599. it has so much technology and its much more reliable than an aston can ever be. its simply stunning. the dbs's manual gearbox is kinda truck like as well. F1 superfast all the way.

the dbs has a beter image than a ferrari? who are you kidding? the dbs looks better, sounds better, and the 6liter v12 is german so its pretty damn reliable. and have you driven a dbs to conclude its gearbox is like a truck? i havent driven one but from just shifting it when it was in a parking lot it felt a lot like a m3 gearbox which i have driven and is a fabulous gearbox. the only car i can forgive for having flappy paddle gears is the f1 cars. i like going through the cogs myself thanks.

i meant that the dbs is more classier than the 599. i dont know if it sounds better because ive never heard the 599. from what ive heard, the dbs has problems with the engine when it's driving hard. the belt tends to fall off when you flick it around corners. i just had the chance to drive it in the US and the gearbox, while it looks nice with the huge level and all, it quite a challenge to get through, no wonder they came out with the automatic version recently, i think its well worth it.

the 599, though it lacks in outright style because of the weird headlights, is the new direction ferrari is going in. did you know that they drove two 599s from brazil to new york city and they lasted the whole time. the only modifications they made were to the suspension because of the unpaved roads in south america. it might be a lie but its still something. if i were to choose, i would go for the 599 any day because it is much better in terms of performance and outright technology.

my god! its too notchy (i guess). difficult to shift at times, especially in city traffic, which is quite annoying because i live in NYC. i read about the problems in a long term test by evo magazine, if i find it online, ill post it here. you might be able to find it if you google it.

at the end of the day, the point i was making was that the 599 is much more technologically superior than the dbs. it has a slew of advancements that way beyond that of any other car. its a tough choice, the two

yes the 599 is quite advanced, but when you say more than any other car can you give me some examples? and ill look up that problem. i guess for rush hour traffic the notchiness would be annoying. i still prefer the three pedals and the shifter. ill see if eventually i can open a tuner shp if i can fix the shifter issues. yes the dbs is a simpleton compared to the 599. mind you its still more personal preferance than anything. i love the dbs, and i dont blame u for liking the 599.

the 599 has a magnetic suspension, an advanced engine, the traction control is very sophisticated (though i wish there was comfort mode), and many other things. thats what i meant what its advanced than any other car out there. i like the way the dbs looks and want desperately want to love it but if you compare the prices of the car with the automatic gearbox, then its the same as the 599 and i would have the 599 any day. though its still a really really tough choice between the two.

yes the engine is better in terms of power and efficiency, but i prefer the sound of the dbs. and as for the traction control for me at least it would never get used so there is only one mode ill ever use...off. like i said ill probably try and upgrade the shifter to give off a better feel. the timing belt thing ill have to look deeper into it. but if i can get one ill have the dbs.

Paul Newman owned this car and you can see him driving it turning the corner in the beginning of this video. This is the much talked about Ferrari that he gave to his friend in his will, instead of the family. Paul was a very dear friend of mine and I was in the movie "Harry and Son"..I was one of the guys sitting on the beach sand when Paul..aka Harry, threw his beer can into the ocean.
