Her D score here was 0.4 higher than the next closest finalist (Jiang Yuyuan). And her score of 15.950 was a whole 1.250 higher than 2nd place Yang Yilin lol. Talk about pwnage.
I don't think she is about to upgrade anything. The most worthwhile investment would be to clean up what she has. Her difficulty is unparalleled. At worlds, she could have fallen and still won with a good margin. Her routine is perfectly structured to take advantage of the code. However, upgrades may adversely affect her execution score. If I were her coaches, I would have her work on her kips some more and getting rid of her dead hang completely.
I think she still loses way too much momentum when she travels from the low bar back up to the high bar. It's not a dead hang anymore like at the Olympics (thankfully) but there's just a break in the flow that stands out A LOT because the rest of her work is so fabulous.
She can't be deducted for that, the COP says you have to move from LB to HB and from HB to LB that all nothing about working in LB. And that's what she's doing. Unluckily few gymnasts perform as we like them to perform
I agree, especially nowadays where difficulty or the D-score counts a lot. It's not gymnasts fault really, but more of the COP.
Whether we like it or not, the way to rack up difficulty on bars is though combination of releases, forward giant pirouettes and in-bar work. And there's no place to do that other than the high bar.
"just fine" shouldn't be enough for a world or olympic champion. She is moving around the low bar because of the requirement but that part is pretty standard these days and not innovative.
So you saying she is not good enough to be world or olympic champion. If so who is more suited to be world or olympic champion then He Kexin? Like I said in my previous response who isn't boring on lowbar. Also how many gymnast works the lowbar in the past umm 15 years.
She did a really good transition in Doha in 2008 I think. That's one of the most beautiful transitions I've seen her do but other than that, this routine was almost perfect! :)
she is sooo good, nobody can beat her

the dead hang, and second yaegers height is really improving. She is going to be unstoppable at worlds. If only the kips were a bit smoother...
