  • can't wait for aventador.

  • Why are people comparing the ZR1 to the Murcielago SV they're in totally different classes

  • @bencolecumbria1995 Because people are still incredulous that a $115,000 USD American supercar can outpace a 250,000 USD Italian hypercar.

  • zr1 is lighter and has more hp at the wheels than the lambo, so it would be a better race than expected

  • And note I am a Corvette fanboy

  • People are shocked that the zr1 beat this car around the track, this car was never build for handling at all it was meant for top speed. yes it handled better than the LP640. the ZR1 is lighter and has a track suspension, this just had a stiffer version of the stock suspension in the LP640. so in essence if the ZR1 didnt beat it id be more surprised. I want to see the new Lambo go through here, that should post a much better time due to the lighter wight, and F1 style suspension.

  • @AceOfSpades725 I was pesonally shocked when I saw that the LP670-4 SuperVeloce had attended that lightning lap. One of the main reasons, the ZR1 was faster (and correct me if I'm wrong) is the marginally better HP-LBS ratio. The ZR1 has slightly less power, but is quite a bit lighter. Then, there are all of the things you listed.

  • @GTIEdition35 yes that too the LP670-4 SV is a very heavy car even with all the carbon fiber elements.thank you for bringing it up. i forgot to mention that was well

  • learn to drive the murcie sv! give this to the stig and see what happens!

  • i like the sv a lot but none of u are ever gunna be able to afford one the zr1 is just plainly a better car then people go around hatin gm like its a bad company or something im mean of corse the zr1 is cheaper than all of these euro companys because its a chevy i mean u never hear lamborghini or ferrari making cars to compete with the malibu they are only fast cars gm makes all kinds of cars. almost all there cars are cheap felling because they are supposed to be affordable unlike the sv

  • 2.53.9 this car was beaten by an 85k 2011 z06 corvette around this track. WOW

  • @mtross70 We should wait and see the new 700hp Aventador (spelling??)...

  • more hp doesnt necessarily mean better track times. not to mention the car will cost 500 grand or more.

  • @mtross70 I hear ya.Good points!

  • Is it me or does the beginning look like a video game...

  • Lets not forget the ZR1 has a supercharger and this has nothing no supercharger or turbo put one on here and it would wreck the zr1

  • sufforing too much wheelspin in 1st? what happened to throttle control!!! i swear.. people want cars to drive themselfs around the tracks these days and claim the fame!

  • lambo 4 ever

  • how come Car and Driver found a British for commentary??

  • my civic si sound better. jajajajajjajaja not really

  • this shit is awesome xD every boy wet dreams hahaha

  • 0:50 a car with an orgasmic sound? thats awsome

  • funny how caranddriver blocked my other account because i asked a simple question, Why was the corvette faster around the corners than the Lambo?

a simple question and bam blocked their reviews have mushed up facts either way.

  • did he just say "the murci - el-ago"???

  • I am fairly sure that in the hands of a better driver, the Murcielago could have posted a much better time than the ZR1. This guy was all over the place, braking too softly and too early, not on the power hard enough early enough, and lifting off on fast bends. GET A BETTER DRIVER!!!!

  • The guy behind the wheel is not deserving of his job. =/ Is it too much to ask to get someone who can drive the hell out of a car to be a presenter on a car show?? The only true car show is Top Gear.

  • still gets beat by a vette thats 1/5 the price. embarrasing. overpriced unreliable spaghetti machine gets owned by a corvette. again

  • I just love how the zr1 pulls the rug out from under the euro snobs overdeveloped sense of superiority. :)

  • @lerch25 Agreed. Notice on some these posts how these Euros argue that the Lambo "needs a better driver" blah..blah. It's usually the first thing they say when one of their's is defeated by a so called Yank Tank.

  • Im a ZR1 fan and for the LP670 to do almost 10 mph less through the upper esses than the zr1 says 1 thing to me. DRIVER SUCKS.

Of course it felt more planted...YOU WERE GOING SLOWER!

  • For the price of the slow-ass Lambo you can have:

    A BMW M3

    A ZR1

    A GT-R

    An Audi R8

    A Robinson R-22 Helicopter

    and a new Bass Boat

Why would you want to spend half a million on one of these dogs?

  • @TheTruthMessenger1 No you couldn't. Murcielago SV= £275,000

    M3=£51,000

    ZR1=£105,000

    GT-R=£60,000

R8=£81,000 Even without the boat and the heicopter, your list comes to £297,000 and I don't know if you know, but Helicopters are usually quite pricey =D

  • @codfather12345 Here in the US, these are the prices: LP670-4 SV ~$400,000 M3 ~$ 55,000 ZR1 ~$106,000 GT-R ~$ 81,000 Tracker V-18 ~$ 21,665 R-22 Beta II ~$150,000 (2007 with 0 TBO according to Trade-A-Plane) An R-22 Beta is significantly less. So it would appear that TheTruthMessenger1 was SPOT ON in his estimate. I would also think that his list of toys would be worth considerably more than the Lambo in 10 years as well.
  • @HelimanZ06

That should be TSO (time since overhaul), not TBO (time between overhaul).

    Sorry, my mistake.

  • @HelimanZ06 Ok, fair enough. Here they are more expensive but I think the list of cars needs some editing. It also seems I need to do some auto shopping in the states by the sound of things =D

  • Im sorry but they need a new driver.

  • For all you idiots saying the 670-4 SV isn't accelerating very fast and seems to have no torque compared to the ZR1, i'd like you to rewind and listen to the part where he says the gearing is cosmic... Cosmic=long..I'm sorry your Supercharged ZR1 doesn't have the capability to put enough torque to a transmission so long, you hit 65mph in first gear. Sorry. Das Auto FTW(VW, Porsche, Audi, Lamborghini)!

  • @L96AW12693 who got a better time??

  • ok now, another round of "vette rulez" debate... well, it does not.... vettes suck ass in comparison with lambo...

the z06 cant beat a snail on the nurburgring... anyway, the supercharger put in the zr1 makes it spit torque, but lacks control... it made the laprecord on the ring ONLY BECUZ OF they handed the car to a german engineering company that re-equipped and adjusted the whole car to fit the needs of the track. thats why they suck...

  • do that with the lambo and you can kiss that faggish zr1 goodbye...

now dont get me wrong tho... there is nothing wrong with owning a zr1 at all... if your a wannaberockstar hillbilly yet well paid patriotic but ignorant lowminded "yeah lets bomb irak" american...

for all others, theres just one rule: fall in love with a car, and just keep loving it.

who cares about your opinion? can u actually afford either one? no? then wheres your point in that argument?

    keep dreaming... silent.

  • @PouChen I wonder if you're only saying that because Audi owns Lambo....hmmm. Sounds like the Axis powers are reuniting!! Lamborghini's are so desperately over priced it's embarrassing.

  • @PouChen You have your nerve spouting war talk. Thanks for starting two world wars you Kraut piece of shit now go fuck your self. Ignorant asshole. Seig Heil!!!!!!!

  • The ZR1 is soo hard to control with all the tq its just a challenge and the need for a really good driver to control it is a must ...Lamborghini has done there home work with a non modified engine they have made a formitable car !!!! If they put one on my needforspeed shift soon ..i would love to put Turbos on it and see it spit on Bugatties like my TT LP640

  • vid gave me goosebumps

  • 0:47-0:58 is heavenly. It's music. Sounds so ****ing sexy. My God!

  • We everyone wants to go faster dumbass so if you got the money to make your lambo go even faster than what the fuck make it go faster ..thats why they put a supercharger in that corvette DUMBASS!!! cuz without it, the Corvette wouldnt touch a LAMBORGHINI..

  • Zo6s where walking Gallardos before the ZR-1 came out so your wrong.

  • i like the fact that you can't find guys from the UK on this thread bashing corvettes. it's like, their know where to be found! where are they? they must not know about it.

  • I would take the Lambo anyday over the plastic Corvette

  • I would take the $400,000 dollars I would save by buying the Vette and then spend 25-40 grand to make it even faster than the Lambo. Then I would call you stupid. lol

  • well, i think it is not only about the speed.

i'd take the lambo over the vette too: the difference is that the lambo is a piece of art. and that is what the gap between price is about.

  • a piece of art? theres tons of lambos out now n days maybe before they were but since Audi bought Lamborghini and started pushing Mercielagos and Gallardos like if they were any other car lambos are just as common in any major city as a corvette so sorry good try tho.

  • @darkskyak1

..so what?? even if there were only lambos around, they would be art pieces, to me, anyway. no, definatly your is not a good try to change the fact that lambo IS ART, sorry.

  • @glauserroist Go have a look at those pieces of "art" called a Countach or a Diablo. They're worth next to nothing today.

  • Comment removed

  • @gnthndrw thats what i wanna hear ;)

  • @gnthndrw

id take any lambo over the corvette....the vette is just lame ass...

    lambo > all

  • @gnthndrw I'd always take a $400,000 car over a $106,000 car lol

  • @gnthndrw Yeah, and with that sophisticated V12, refined AWD and a flappy paddle gearbox, that 400K Lambo got walked by 2 seconds by that "plastic" Corvette around VIR. Lambo should be embarrassed as hell IMO.

  • @gnthndrw although i am a huge fan of the corvette but i can't argue with that .. the Lamborghini is a dream for every car nut

  • lol the zr1 is faster than this car lol how can this be possible ?

    look at this

    watch?v=NEAe_ubPOAw&feature=channel

  • @gnthndrw Go for it! I'd rather save a couple hundred grand, And buy the Faster ZR1.

  • @BigSloan413 it's faster because it's made from plastic.

  • @llDeaTHhIMseLFll Plastic?? You mean fiberglass, carbon fiber etc? Plus your beloved Euro Cars have engines that blow up and catch on fire for no reason after 30K miles. My 2002 Z06 Has "only" 405hp but also gets 28 mpg highway and has well over 100K miles on it and still hasn't given me a single problem. It is also a very comfortable daily driver, has done a 7:56 Nurburgring time (great for 2002) and a 0-60 time of 3.9 seconds. Motor wise, European cars a a LOT less reliable.

  • @Nick1944 Cool stats, but really, European cars are much more reliable than American cars (except the Italians haha). The reason the Corvette is so cheap for what you get is because Chevy cuts corners, and skimps where they can. It makes for a comparatively cheap thrill. But the fact that you can push in the bumpers with a finger? That and it just feels so fake and full of plastic when I sit in one. They're also really common, at least where I am (the Northeast). And not to mention, plain ugly.

  • @cavaderblood I don't trust GM. Every GM i've ever driven feels cheap, the steering is always numb, everything falls apart/breaks easily, things make plastic-clackity noises...it's annoying. I could never spend money on a GM due to my personal experience with their cars. I'd take a Ford or Mopar any day, and I have, rightly so. I bought an F-150 two-door, beat the fuck out of it for 25k miles, never had any problems. Traded it in on a 2010 F-150 4x4 SuperCrew, still, never had any problems. :)

  • @DeAdiSSu3 My dad has a 1988 F-250 XLT Lariat with the extended cab and an 8 foot bed, and it's still going strong. We're talking about cars here, trucks are a different category all together. There's less truck competition from overseas, so American companies don't have to skimp as much.

  • @cavaderblood Actually you make a very good point there. I was just giving an example of Ford vs. GM. Also on that note, the Fords steering has good feel and nothing rattles/makes annoying noises, it is tough and durable and I have complete faith in it. Even though we're talking cars not trucks, still, it's a decent example of quality and reliability. Happy motoring, and i'm glad to hear your dads truck is still going strong.

  • @gnthndrw thats good for you, the ZR1 is faster, and is fraction of the price.

  • Excellent sound!

  • I would not dump half a million dollars on a car that gets beaten by a plastic Chevrolet

  • Why doesn't he floor the car in straight lines?

  • murci alago. lol

  • the Lambo seems like it doesn't have as much torque as the Zr1. im thinking because the Zr1 is supercharged? instant power right when supercharged?

  • It handles so well, it doesn't look like he's pushing it.

  • It doesn't look like he's pushing it very much.

  • sad that a car costing $460K can't beat a $105k car around the track.

  • @Nick1944 Nah the driver sucks thats what.

  • @cybertron1000s put the stig from top gear in every car

  • @JJ388JAr rofl

  • to be honest i dont think he was driving it hard enough (around corners). Tires werent squelling enough, you wanna see real race car driving watch best motoring international.

  • 2 seconds slower than the ZR1, 4 seconds slower than the Viper ACR

  • wait can't the lambo corner alot quicker than 44 mph??? its better planted than the zr1 so why can't it turn faster. Im confused can someone explain to me why?

  • @Sherwin930

From what the narrator is saying the problem is, from what I gather, is due to the tall gearing of the transmission combined with the amount of torque available, and, add to that the types of tires and the AWD system. The ZR1 has enormous loads of torque and is only driving the rear wheels.

  • thanks man

  • @Sherwin930 you're asking the front wheels to mulit-task and as with any fwd set up you'll get push which results in under steer. Let it rain though......

  • thanks mans that cleared alot up

  • Nice car sound. i would kill for this car :D

  • this was amazing, keep making these kind of videos, I love these

  • Good god the V12 sounds magnificent.

  • I can actually here this guys voice alot better in th lp670 thn in th zr1

  • Really nice sound!

  • yes its AWD gose good

  • i think the gallardo sounds better than the murcielago... anybody with me?

  • Well, it is hard to find a Lambo that doesn't sound great. I agree. The Gallardo sounds a little throatier, I think.

It sure as hell ain't your mom's Accord.

  • hell yeah th lp560 is th best sounding lambo ever th murcielago sounds good ibut i now alot of cars wth v12s like th zonda tht sound better.

  • .... did he actually call the KTM X-BOW the "ex bow"?

  • Cross bow is what it's called. He did not know that. But then he did get to drive it.

  • That g force display is bad ass

  • the corvette sounds better, is faster, and costs less

  • amazing sound, not as good as LFA

  • Nice twelve -cylinder sound, but I've heard better.

  • one of the best sounds to ever come out of a car.

  • zr1 owned it

  • zr1 beat it...just sayin

  • was it faster than the ZR1? I forgot the ZR1s time.

  • zr1 did a 2:51

  • shut the fuck up!

  • y u so mad because i said lol?
