  • I like the old radio

  • Thanks amateursradio

They are interesting as history too.

  • I so enjoy your videos! I've been in electronics all my life. I love old radios and equipment. I'm learning to refurbish antique car radios now, as a side business out of my house, and your videos are a big help. Thanks so much!

  • Thanks. You will find that car radios have interesting spark suppression circuits. It is an interesting problem to filter out the spark plug noise with out filtering out the RF signal with it. Have fun!!

  • I was wondering if you'd done an alignment yet. Given its tube lineup, it seemed deaf--I was expecting an explosion of stations. :-)

  • Yes I did, it is a nice little radio.

  • I have that very same Bendix!

  • I have not seen another one anywhere. They are neat radios.

  • Very nice radios!

  • Thanks! I found all kinds of neat stuff in my garage. Still have not found the other transistor globe radio though.

  • i see some it has some of the mica caps im working on a radio it has a lot of the molded paper caps in back-lite case look's a lot like the mica caps nice video good to see you pulled more radio out to work on 73's kc9kuh

  • Thanks radiobigman47

  • I really can't believe the voltage on those old batteries! I'll probably be the first to stick my tongue to the terminals out of curiosity.

  • lol ouch! Vacuum Tubes start to function properly with a plate voltage around 65VDC and it is UP from there. Some gas filled tube require lower voltages, but would still be tongue sensitive.

  • @jimbobg65 Actually I knew a dumbass at Batteries Plus that tried taste-testing a 45 volt battery. He said his tastebuds were paralyzed after that experience... :-)

  • Nice collection of radios! Are those mica capacitors that have the colored dots?4:13.

  • Thanks. Yes those are Mica capacitors and usually they are good. I check them with an ohmmeter and if they are not shorted and the case is not cracked there probably OK.
