The Fox and the Hawk

The hawk is a norther harrier (aka marsh hawk). This is a ground nesting hawk. It may have a nest site nearby and knows that the fox is bad news! I highly doubt that the hawk is trying to steal a flushed mouse.

Not confronting - as djackou812 stated, looks like a Harris' hawk waiting for an opportunity to snag a mouse or bird that is flushed by the fox.

it seems as if the hawk will swoop down upon whatever animal the fox scares out of its burrow... more like an opportunistic hunt. nice video.

very nice vid,, we have a fox den out behind our house in the woods, and alot more hawks we r seeing this year as well, :)
