This could have been good. The very annoying (and ugly) soundtrack totally destroys the quality of this video. A commentary would have been much better. And that's not because we're 'dumbasses' (as per comment from a user who seems to think themselves enlightened). The reason is simply that the goal of a tutorial is to retain the audience's attention so they learn something. Ugly music makes people click away before the vid finishes. Long before. Result - nobody learns anything.
@LaMarquiseDeMerteuil If you want to learn HDR google stuckincustoms or aguntherphotography( this one type "hdr" in the search tool then choose "RAW HDR Processing" from the result.). Have fun!
Even without oral instructions, it wasn't too difficult to figure out. I would have preferred a step-by-step, but by following the directions and using a trial version of Photomatix, it helped me make the decision to purchase it. Good, not great and not hard to understand.

Horrible tutorial. Not even worth watching with all the other tutorials that properly EXPLAIN to you what to do rather than having some ridiculous music playing.
theres alot of haters on this page.. if you didnt like the clip then deal with it. This is an awesome justification of how you can use one image for hdr...
This video is good at showing people that you know what you're doing, but for those of us who are trying to get to grips with HDR photography there perhaps isn't sufficient explanation. Nice work though.
I find HDR quite cool and it makes your photos really good. But as said in a photography magazine I read recently (which I kind of agree with..), it was commented that HDR is covering up a disappointing result. But...in saying that, I love photoshop but use it for manips generally. It is really what you think.
What you are doing is stretching the tonal range of a single image. If you have a glass of water, for example, it can't hold 2 glasses worth of water. The single image (even RAW) can only hold so much EV range. You need min. 2 or more images. Not 3, as some are suggesting, here. I typically work with 3, but I have worked with as many as 11! It all goes back to basics with Ansel Adams and the Zone System (30+ years ago). You need to learn the background before you teach incorrectly.
HDR - high dymentional range. This is type of photo, that in it you see all details, you don't see white "burned" places, you see everything veru smooth. :) I hope you did understand, 'couse my english isin't so well...
To make HDR photo, you need three or more different exposure photos. From very light, to very dark.... Then you put them into one photo, and you have HDR photo....
Yes, but the dynamic range won't be such large, as it will be , when you take three different pictures. When you make HDR from one Picture, it is called pseudoHDR
this video got me thinking and so i started to mess with a pic and messing with its light and darks and it was awesome. but these were screenshots from a game. it still gave me some amazing shots. i tested the same method on a regular pic and no luck. i have to find the different method for real pics and see how that works. of course im editing this on ps i dont have that other program.
yea it does but i just wanted to try it out on images that werent taken by photo and it seemed to work. but i do gotta say that i like the photo version betters it brings it more to life and more depths and tones and watnot.
hello thanks for your cool tutorials if any one is interested in 3d studio max and illustartor tuts with some web2 photoshop stuff ill garentee you be impressed with my channel. very easy to comprehend and learn cool techniques thanks
Single exposure HDRs are WEAK! Save time in PP and get real extended DR results by shooting more exposures. It's the only way to be sure. I mean, c'mon, look at your halos, Yikes!
@ezramajin How can you not follow those instructions its self explanatory dumbass LOL if you know what HDR Photography is then you'll get this tutorial rookie
I like the result in particular, but poorly done on a technical level, you have no sky whatsoever dude... no one-file HDR can match a 3+ file hdr :p Not even out of a RAW file.
While you did indeed generate an HDR in terms of file format, this technique is used to achieve a better contrast ratio in the final image, which yours (being flat and mostly different shades of gray) is lacking.
I wouldnt call this a tutorial. I have no idea of what are you doing there, I can't see almost anything, zoom in a bit or at least explain more details. The song is anoying I couldn't watch more than half a video but the result is awesome. I whish I know how to do it

Okay, I realized. The reason why is because the EXIF data is preserved, letting Adobe know it's the same image. You can't blend the same image as far as their concerned, so you have to erase the EXIF data.
..How do you do that? I just got a DSLR so I can actually take quality photos. So let me know if you get anything and I'll try to let you know as well. But no progress thus far. I did merge them eventually by just changng the "f" and "e/v" but still didnt get effects I wanted. And are you/jkrawr using Photomatrix? If so, I'm out because I don't have it. Im trying to save and go with CS3.
can you tel me then how to erase the EXIF data? I've tried to do that just by coping the image to another folder( as I've found on some website)but it still doesn't work! so I got stuck at that point, please help!
