@2000roadster Actually I knew it was designed by a belgian, Luc Donckerwolke or something like that. He's in charge of designing SEATs now. I think it's another brand under VW AG. Here's the funny thing you may not have even realized. The Audi R8 was designed by Walter de'Silva who is Italian and the 458 Italia is designed by a belgian who works for pininfarina. Don't remember his name, it was in some issue of C&D a few months ago.

Gallardo Spyder is IMO all the supercar you'd ever need... Audi reliability and quality, 4WD, V10 med loads of torque and power, compact size (for those of us who live in Europe), excellent design, cool brand... It'd be perfect if it had more luggage space for weekend trips with two people :)

That LP 560-4 is slow compared to a stock 2010 Mustang GT or Camaro. American cars are faster and have more torques. Import cars are slow and they have to rev to 10,000 rpm to get any power and they are very slow. Plus american cars are faster in the twisties. Yeah, I mean I'd still prefer a Ferrari or Lambo over an american just because of the precision in handling and the achievement in engineering. Plus the Italians are fast cars but that's not everything. The style and innovation makes them unique in the car world. When I see a ZR1, I feel the only thing the driver cares about is making it to the next light faster than me. But hey everyone has a unique personality so the taste in cars have to be different too. 458 redlines at 9000rpm in a V8!!!!!!

Ferrari is the ONLY manufacturer in Europe that has not been bought by an American business and kept in business through American redesign and reengineering of every vehicle in their fleet! American manufacturers see the cycle, so they design, engineer, manufacture and get out during the sales cycle. What of of the Cheetah, Hennessey, Nickey, Yenko, Saleen, Lingenfelter, Vector, etc.

I appreciate all cars as long as the engineers put some heart into it when they built it and had a clear goal in mind during their time on the drawing board. The cars you mentioned, I have all heard of. The thing about Saleen and Hennessey is that I don't consider upgrading a viper or sticking a Saleen engine in a mustang, building a new car. I think the Venom is based off of the Lotus Elise too. Respect to the S7 tho.

@SPMNDK89 very sorry. I'm a Ferrari and Lambo nut but America builds awesome cars too. The Vette with work will do a 9 to 10 sec 1/4 mile run for $150k, which puts it in the vicinity of a Ferrari FXX. I'll take both! My fav car is the FXX, but not because it is drivable. It is like an F1 race car. You need a track to safely drive it, insanely overpowers its chassis, scares the crap out of me, is violent, visceral, is a ton of work to drive and is a study in FEAR and driver ABILITY.

Haha true, the FXX is insane (Over 800 hp in a lightened Enzo chassis will do the trick). And yes I am a BIG fan of the cars out of Maranello as well. I live in SD and I was lucky enough to spot a 458 Italia in the showroom of Ferrari of La Jolla, and it is a marvel. If you want an F1 based car, Ferrari is definitely answering the call. Your hands never leave the steering wheel because everything from the shifters to the signals are on the wheel. Next up, the Piero or for enthusiasts the F70.

The Japs and the Germans make the best quality cars in this present day. The Italians always however, made the most flamboyant and desirable machines that humanity could ever dream of.

This in my opinion is the ugliest mid engined Lamborghini but it's still one of my favourite cars in the whole world. If only they put the Cala into production.

@MrZyorix Ok, Ok, I believe the correct term is pony cars which the Camaro, Mustang and Dodge Challenger all fall into...which is kinda of funny because the current Challenger is bigger in terms of size than the Charger which used to be Dodge's Muscle car while the Chevelle and Torino were the muscle of Chevy and Ford. Now though it's all about the Corvette vs. the Viper and if Ford will ever have a replacement model for the GT we've got an all american slug-fest set to go. Still euros are sexy
