I have been years for this cartoon, only using what memories I have kept with me since the early 70s being only about five or so. So glad to have found it. Very hard trying to find key words in google, but leave it to youtube! Thanks for the upload.. been running through my head from.time to time over 35 years now! Trippy!
@MrToothycritter I was looking for it for years too! Once I found it, I couldn't get it posted quick enough. I am glad it brought you so much enjoyment. Peace.
Didn't Hoshimoto use to say his name before he would karate chop? " Hoshimoto Ha !" thanks for posting this! I use to watch it on a black and white tv.
thank you sooooooooooooo much for uploading!!!!! been rattling my brain trying to remember this cartoon which i loveeeeee!!!! look forward to finding more hashimoto cartoons! =)
@diddymuck Actually, the Creator of Hashimoto cartoons, Bob Kuwahara, was himself Japanese American, and went out of his way to make his characters likeable and sympathetic. He was a much more accurate and respectful representative of his ethnicity than, say, Deputy Dawg was of his. In fact, his were probably the very first American cartoons to portray Japanese culture without insulting it.
I love Hashimoto! I found a VHS tape a long time ago that I better have transfered to DVD before it's gone forever because he is impossible to find. My favorite cartoon is the one where the family is becoming too Westernized. The kids are into rock n roll, cowboys and Indians, and his wife starts serving him "frozen sukiyaki made in Hoboken" for dinner and using exercise equipment. He ends up buying a convertible, wearing shades and saying "if you can't beat them....join up!"
oh MAN. Thank you so much. I've had this vague memory of an animated asian mouse for the past 25 years and it's been driving me crazy. All I could remember is that he would bow at the end of the show and say "sayonara." I can die happy now.
You and me both....every now when the subject of old shows or cartoons came up I would mention the Japanese mouse...no one knew what the hell I was talking about....I began to wonder if I was making it up.
