@Tkscz Actually no. There wasn't a plan for anything like that at all. If you actually look at what Doug TenNapel (the creator of the neverhood) has posted about it, it was going to be a sort of rebirth for the neverhood and all he showed was some concept art. All the characters looked different, half of the neverhood was a jungle, and instead of the clockwork beast there was a monster known as "Hecto nine" whatever that means. Wherever you got your info on was wrong.

A neat thing: that creepy wolflike creature is a Victoid, as that's the name of its cutscene file in the game's data. In the Neverhood, Victoids are never shown but are described in the hall of records as predators who float through space and colonize every world.
