Estoy probando este producto en mi maquina y funciona bastante bien, al parecer corrigió el problema de sobrecalentamiento, bajo de 75 Grados C. a no mas de 50 Grados C.
I have this fan in now, it's loud! at the 1800 rpm mark, it cools my CPU to 36c on idle, and my motherboard to 28c Idle. I'm a bit confused about this, as it's performing the same as my old stock cpu cooler.
My cpu cooler allways runs on full speed but i don't know what the problem is? . I have not changed anything just moved over all parts to a new chassi.
@skyline1234111 I was just on their site a couple minutes ago wondering that myself, and the product page says that it supports am3+ slots and the FX series.
NEWS UPDATE (This is not spam, but the truth): As of right now, September 21, 2011 the Cooler Master Silent pro 850 watt and 1000 watt modular power supply are being sold on Amazon for $89.99 and and $129.99 respectively. This is one hell of a deal and I couldn't help but snag the 850 watt psu last night! TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS DEAL WHILE IT STILL LASTS!
Got this on my Athlon II X4 630 (2.8GHz), in my V3. It JUST fits in, and you can see the flashy top of the cooler through the viewing window. I am yet to overclock it, but it keeps the CPU omfgcool. I upgraded early to prepare for the Aussie summer, I think it will get me through. Pretty happy with it, for how much it was. Do recommend.
@Stormin024 *facepalm* I've watched over 100 computer part related videos today and there are comments like this one and others about different parts but seriously, if you need to ask, you don't need to even need to try and build a computer. go to the manufactures website and read the specifications it's not hard to do.
@fullytrainedidiot Indeed. I'm running the V8 on a Phenom II 940 Quad Core. I have overclocked it to 3.3 Ghz, and has an idle temp of 42 C with half speed on fan. 38 on full. Full load (gaming) at half fan speed, it's 46-50, and at full speed it's 45-47.
im getting a new graphics card, medium- high (but not unbelievably high) power... probably something from the geforce range... anyone have any recomendations?
@ChRIs23696 You could always get one GTX 480 now, and then later on when you have some more money, you could install another, and run them in SLI. Alternately, you could go for a GTX 550 or 560. They're pretty decently priced, and should run any new game on at least medium settings. If you're wanting to go ATI, the Radeon 6870 is a really nice mid-ranged card that should run really nice for you. Good luck, and if you want me to elaborate, or just give more info, I'd be happy to.
I got this and i recently switched back to the stock cooler until my V6 comes.. This cooler is awesome man but i think it packs a lot of weight.. It has slightly bend the top edge of my motherboard.. not obvious but noticeable :S
@rotenburk sorry i have tried it in my friend 17 the motherboard should be strong and the cpu size should be large it doesnt work but if you modify yur motherbord you can and it is very heavy. and for yur computer safty put yur motherboard base uprigth so that there is a center of gravity
Oh yeah and don't run the 2500k at 5Ghz for long because you'll burn it out in like a week of full use because your running it at like 1.6v so i would step that back to 4.5 - 4.8Ghz, it does step that back because it will under clock when your not using it but still i wouldn't suggest running that for more than an hour ever you use that one hour then you step it back to 4.8Ghz and never return
Socket 775 is after the pentium 4 up to and including the core 2 series
Socket 1155 is the Sandy Bridge socket which is the "i" series mk 2 as why all of the sandy bridge processors have 2 in the beginning like the i7 2600 or k on the end for turbo unlocked
Socket 1156 is i7 8XX down in the "i" series
Socket 1366 are the 9XX's plus the 980X and 990X
so in short you have a 1366 motherboard, but the V8 supports all of them so its a moot point...
have you checked that you have turn your motherboard fan speeds and the fan controller speeds up, also the h50 or h70 only give marginal performance gains vs's air coolers, secondly you might want to check the air flow in your computer because i over clocked my 2500k to 5Ghz and was running at 70C under full load i have one fan blowing into the CPU fan and one taking the air out running at both at 800RPM with the motherboard set to max and the included fan controller set to max.
@Methoine Don't remember on the paste and yes I still have warranty...may have to look into that. Now that I have cleaned the case's two 180mm fan grills and turned down the cooler fan to about half throttle to reduce noise it idles (i.e. surfing web, watching youtube, pandora, etc.) at around 41C. My rendering temps also dropped from around 74C to 67C. Turning the cooler fan all the way up reduces rendering temps to around 65C.
@samnelso Nice, that seems like far more reasonable temperatures. As for the paste you may have used the paste that came with the cooler. I don't know how good that is but i would recommend as5, but i don't think it would affect much with the temperatures you have right now.
@spamthisfolder I think it would..... did you have any problems regarding the speed of the cpu, as I had to update the bios as my cpu was only getting up to 800mhz :/
@interpird350 actually i found out , in those heat pipes are filled with a substance that can very rapidly evaporate carrying the heat to the radiator and then very rapidly condensing going back to the heat source continuing the cycle over and over again.
Got my Phenom II 965 C3(125) down to 42*C max load(2 hrs of Prime95) @ stock. Room temp @ 20*C(all fans being at 100%). I haven't modded it, just used Arctic Silver 5. When under prime with ASUS Q-Fan it all stays silent, but CPU does reach about 49-52*C max, so I don't think I'll doll out another 50 GBP for an H50 yet. Only problem is the clearance on the Crosshair IV, because I have a 6GB Dominator GT 1866(9-9-9-24) set with the airflow fan and barely fitted the fan(mem fits fine under the V8)
Awesume.. but i just want too know if the v8 vits on the asus rampage extreme motherboard (the core 2 quad one) It is old but it overclocks well and i want a great cooler on it

Only problem is the clearance on the Crosshair IV, because I have a 6GB Dominator GT 1866(9-9-9-24) set with the airflow fan and barely fitted the fan(mem fits fine under the V8)

if you only get 2 C temp differnece between full rpm's and highest.... just leave it on the lowest so its quieter :P

Dump question: can you savely overclock with an air-cooler such as this or can you just over-clock with water cooling?
