  • If you haven't heard it yet, listen to the SQ Chips version of this, absolutely mind blowing. watch?v=yiAMekAOMwE

  • I feel like I'm on Shevat!

  • Unparalleled emotion put into this track, easily one of Mitsudas best.

  • @XenoArby agreed, the flute is great

  • sublime.

  • Truly one of the best games of all time. Yasunori Mitsuda is awesome

  • The storyline was much better than the soundtrack. Xenogears dealt with evolution, religion, psychology, history, myths, and legends and outer space.. watta combo

  • This was probably one of my most favorite tracks of all time from Mitsuda. What a genius.

Why is it when I step on a stone it doesn't ask me if I want to go up or down?

  • @FelicianoCookie Because you lack that awesome ponytail of Fei's. Get one and try again.

  • @Deeznutz5150 I have one, it's just not nearly as awesome as his XD

  • Xenogears will never die.

  • Ahh, brings back memories, such a musical masterpiece, composed back when quality mattered in video games; Xenogears was one of the best if not the best RPG game I have ever played. This game had such an unforgettable soundtrack that it is one of the main incentives for players to play this masterpiece of a game again besides the interesting story and gameplay. Classic games FTW!!

  • This has that same feel as "Corridors of Time" and "Schala's theme", from Trigger.

  • @dissident93 Doesn't it?? :D

  • @Sakurarainstorm And of course, that's a good thing. hahaha

  • Gotta love whistling to this <3

  • This was the RPG that inspired me the most, when I started working on my graphic novel, that I'd like to one day see turned into a game.

  • Such a sadness imbued in this track...and yet...a sense of happiness. Yasunori Mitsuda is absolutely amazing.

  • GUYS IM SRY I THINK I CLICKED DISLIKE BY ACCIDENT WHICH IS WHY THERE IS 1.... im not sure if i did im so sry :(

  • @KrumpetNylon no. you can never be forgiven :D

  • Now, about Shevat and its theme song... I love it. It's so fresh... Some people say that Shevat reminds them of Zeal from Chrono Trigger... but I first thought of Laputa when I first played the game (I never played Chrono Trigger at that time also... now, I understand the Zeal/Shevat parallels... and other parallels between the 2 games).

Gotta love those cities in the sky...

  • Who says Takahashi and Soraya Saga can't go back working for SE just for this game ? And if they don't, some talented people could remake the game originally (some fans would rage I know... but I personally like to get creative with Xenogears because I don't think the original material was really perfect... it has crazy potential however, that's why I'm crazy about it lol).

  • ゼノギアスのBGMはどれも神がかっているが、このシェバトのBGMはその中でもずば抜けてすばらしい音楽である。

    ・・・シェバトに行ってみたい・・・(但し、極寒の地墜落は除く)

  • Xenogears released on north american PSN on February 22 !!! Make sure to get it :)

  • Xenogears was waaaaaay better than the new Xenosaga, shame it doesn't belong to Square-Enix anymore =(

  • @Sorrrow1984

I won't comment about Xenosaga (since I think this series doesn't deserve all the hate it gets *bitter Xenogears fans are just bitter... Xenosaga could have been close to perfect, they still would have complained and snobbed the series... just because it isn't Xenogears*).

But I still have hope about Xenogears' revival.

  • I didn't play this far into the game but it sounds like it would fit in really well within the context of the environment. Anyone know what was going on at this point of the game? Thanks.

  • @MikeRoePhonicsMusic You really should take the time to play it through. The music has a calming effect after the strenuous journey it took to get here, yet it has a sad and foreboding touch to it as well. I think it's the perfect song to instil a strong emotive response in the player. The only other game which evoked a similar response in me was Final Fantasy VI, and I'm speaking from over 25 years worth of gaming experience from Coleco vision to today. Please play on, it's worth it.

  • @MikeRoePhonicsMusic without spoiling too much, alot of people die and a religious group turns out to be a front for a shadow organization, then you arrive at this city and shit gets real..er.

  • my new purpose in life is to find the asshole who disliked this and give him/her a little lesson...

  • ahh I remember hearing this music after I crawl trough the bibel tower dungeon... this place is like heaven

  • when i got to shevat, i almost stopped playing because i couldn't believe the incredible music i was hearing

  • They don't do games like Xenogears anymore.

  • I think the whole difference with square enix is that now It's a money making business. It used to be a team of driven specialists that actually really put their soul in their work. Maybe it's me, but I haven't really played a video game from square after 2000 that I liked.

  • @Zephyr49

tell me about it man back in the day i was all in to the square and enix =/ now they merge i became a Atlus fan.

  • I really like this track!

  • What a beautiful song!

  • this is amazing

what blows my mind is that zohars version is even better IMO!!!

  • Game developers of the world, make more games like this please.

  • amazingly zohar002's is even better

  • Ahh, good times.

  • Ahh, I know you from gamefaqs. Hmm, who could I be?

  • I dunno...

  • I love that city, Shevat the good Solaris. I thought that was so awesome.

  • Quite frankly this is one of the greatest tracks in the game and certainly goes with my favorite moments in the game. The entire climb from Babel Tower to Shevat is one of my all time favorite RPG moments.

  • Mr.Zohar002 always makes epic arrange! makes good piece even more good!

  • One of my all-time favorite VGM tracks. This game, like Chrono Trigger before it, had some serious soul. Ah, the days when Square/Enix could do no wrong...

  • =~~(

  • @Lennis01 You mean Squaresoft right?

  • @Lennis01 i feel ya' dude. in the 90s, Squaresoft had the greatest team(s) when it came to RPGs. it's disheartening, really. it just feels like the way things are going these days, we'll never get games with such heart again :\

  • @Lennis01 No kidding right? I've still remained loyal to square-enix even after the merge.....but MAN i probably haven't beaten a SINGLE game by them ever since the merge, and i would NOT recommend any of the games square-enix has created....seriously, pre-merge both companies were outstanding! AFTER the merge? My god, what happened to all those games? The things money does to people.....

  • @theleast100seconds Square/Enix hasn't struck out on everything they've done. Final Fantasy 12 was done very well, and The Last Remnant was also pretty good - aside from the random spawning of quest monsters. Ironically, The Last Remnant was properly named - as it represented in my eyes the last remnant of quality gamemaking in the company. When we look at the railroad track that is Final Fantasy 13 and the absolute mess that is Final Fantasy 14, it's hard to deny.

  • @Lennis01 when it was just SquareSoft....

  • @Lennis01 i completely agree yo. COMPLETELY.

  • yes you are right . floating cities 4tw

  • A floating continent, destroyed and crashed into a snow land, this remind me of Dark Age in Chrono Trigger. (beside it's the same music composer)

  • Yay, that composer was indeed no fool!

  • Comment removed

  • I fall asleep peacefully to this song.

  • I hope you all have checked out zohar 002's piano arrangement of this song, it's incredible.

  • i concur, zohar002's rendition is amazing.

  • I've been obsessing over it as well... even with sheet music, I don't know if I could ever learn it. There's just so much going on. Zohar002 is a genius.

  • @StewNWT it was godlike.....agreed wad u said :D

  • @StewNWT like verdegrand more :P

  • @Meikey :P I hope you know Verdegrand's came from zohar, and is just faster paced

  • @kRiSiS112 yeah i know. The thing is that the original music also is a bit faster than zohar's version.

But Still freaking awesome, both of them really have skill.

  • Funny how despite not playing Xenogears for a decade, this song came to mind. Already on Youtube, I search and find this video...which was uploaded exactly a year this day.

I guess now's a good season for this kind of song. It really is a song so beautiful and peaceful that it makes (most) Christmas music look like a joke in comparison.

  • the intro reminds me of the song 'drowning valley' for chrono cross haha

  • i can't stop coming on youtube and listening to this song.

  • Look into PSF files, they emulate the PSX audio engine. That way you'll get stereo sound, too.

  • I'm on my first playthrough of Xenogears, and I'm at Shevat for now.

The song's definately a treat for the ears.

  • It's like a sucessor to the Kingdom of Zeal.

  • that's what I've always said, heh. I'm the only one who thinks Xenogears is at least a partial spiritual sequel to Chrono Trigger. ...at least without all the gears and time traveling.

  • Xenogears has time travelling elements in a sense -- you're guys don't move through time, but the game focuses heavily on the repercussions of past events in the same way that CT did.

  • And let's not forget about Lucca's cameo as an information hub!

  • what part was that?

  • In one of the houses in Lahan at the very beginning. She's like other NPCs in JRPGs that serve as a mini tutorial.

  • I don't know why, but I love this song ! There is something fresh and aerial in it ( and Shevat reminds me so much of Laputa from the Miyazaki movie Laputa ).

  • Isn't the movie called Castle in the Sky?

  • It's both.

  • One of if not the most memorable theme from the game.

  • i love this song. i catch my self humming this song at times.

  • i love this song. i catch my self humming this song at times.

  • I love Shevat, and the music of course, very pretty.

  • i like this music, but i remember that I hate it at the same time, because, that's the only music on the 4th CD,

  • Fourth CD? What are you talking about? The game and soundtrack only have two discs. In any case, the second game disc has plenty of memorable tracks.

  • Thanks for sharing~

  • Yeah,yeah,that's cool song!

I remember when I was in junior high school!
