  • Hah! I love it! I want an electric car! When I can legally start driving... 

  • What is most amusing is all these people who buy their electric cars think they are helping the environment.

Where do they think the main source of energy is for the electrical grid?

Coal. Which is far more dirtier than gasoline.

  • @jamesspeculator Depends on where you live. Hydro is the cheapest where I am.

  • I LOVE my electric car (Nissan Leaf)! It makes me feel so futuristic when I unplug it from it's charger each morning. The only problem I've had is that cats don't hear me when I'm driving down the street.

  • Probably every science teacher plays this song at LEAST once in their life...

    lol :)

  • In our school, we had a kareoke to raise money for diabetes. About 20 people went up and sang this song without any music (of course none of the CDs had the song). In the end, every person in the cafeteria was standing and cheering/clapping along. BEST SONG EVER!

  • Subscribed liked added to favorite.

  • Ur thumb is da longest

    Finger

  • Hahaha our science teacher plays this for us! We all sing it off note haha

  • To the west side in an electric car!!! WHAT DO THEY WANT TO DO!? GET SHOT!!!

  • Uhm look at the dog's middle finger it's the longest. Which finger on our hand is the longest?

  • i went to my old primary school production andthe preps were dancing to this, it was adorable

  • me and my friend singing off notes^^ so hilarious

  • So cooooooool

  • OMG My 6th Grade Scienceteacher Is Awesome He Played This Song For Us Today Its Awesome

  • ya i love it we played it alot at art camp it was awesome

  • this vid is beast

  • omg my favorite song!!!!!!!!!!!! from camp barakel!

  • f**k BMWs, I want an electric car!

  • -.-' My 8th grade science teacher played every one of these science songs to make us listen to them.

  • ...What if the bear ate the dog...

  • My old teacher would play this while we worked! It was our favorite song and most people knew the words(:

  • There are invention form ancient engineers that could power a house or anything indefinitely by putting a certain antenna on them, those people rotted in jail by the FDA.

  • its made of fuckin cardboard

  • really you are an idiot i love that song it is so awesome

  • this song reminds me of MGMT

  • I love this song. <3 <3 <3 and I'm 16. :D

  • @sacrificialshayla I love this song too! <3 <3 <3 and im 18. XD

  • Joe Biden claimed that the $862 Billion failed stimulus ($400 remains unspent) “created or saved” 750,000 jobs. Economists don’t recognize jobs saved, and the jobs saved may have been keep local agencies afloat. When the money ran out, the people lost their jobs. Currently States are considering filing bankruptcy for spending. watch?v=IqmeT5ykKf0

The Govt owns 61% of GM, GOOGLE, “GM's electric-car fantasy running out of gas” and read links. The Green Movement should be free market driven

  • Yeah lets all drive electric cars with their nickel based batteries (produced in horrendously polluting plants - check Sudbury Ontario) or with lithium based batteries (the raw material is produced one side of the world, processed on the other, and then sent back to the other to be put into a car).

By the time an electric car even turns a wheel it has produced more pollution than a small gas powered car will in its entire lifetime. Kiss my ass electric car.

  • @sinminman Too late *cough cough* Nissan Leaf *cough cough*

  • @sinminman are you saying there is no way to improve the methods in which they make electric cars? cause to me you kinda sound like a douche....instead of bitching about it why don't you work on or research a way to make it better??

  • Which kind of an electric car? Pheaso elictric?

  • 10 years from now, most of us will be driving electric! I get mine in 3 weeks time :)

    I love the Nissan LEAF!

  • you know you cant ride it only once

  • ***WARNING!!*** DONT LISTEN TO MUCH, IT WILL GET STUCK IN YOUR HEAD. u will be walkin around and you will start singing:electric car, come and take a ride with me." And u will try and sing it like the girl, even tho ur a dude...

  • oh god i hate this song but my teacher put on his song for some gay ass reason!!

  • And of course the antithesis of this song is... watch?v=ksd_PKe-ex0

(Sorry I couldn't find any version with a decent animation, but you get the idea.)

  • Fuck the environment, it's been here for billions of years. A few hundred years of industry isn't gonna do shit in the long run.

  • @lordhailen "lets take a ride in an elecetric car" and use it to run over your trolling ass

  • @azndudoncam People have lost sight of what a troll really is, oh well I guess the internet is now overrun by the people we used to refer to as "noobs".

  • look at my website drivingthenation

According to the Foreign Trade division of the Census Bureau imported oil will cost the United States about 270 Billion dollars for 2010. Bob Tippee, editor of the Oil and Gas Journal, extrapolated the yearly refined motor gasoline from imported oil. Tippee estimates that we are paying 113 billion dollars for imported oil refined into motor gasoline for 2010. We still have no energy policy and no competition against oil, until today.

  • Sadly most electricity is based on coal, oil and gas, making electric cars almost just as toxic for the environment as gasoline powered cars..

  • @Jellegeed This is true. However, electric cars can be a great investment for the future. There is only one way to make gasoline, which is through refinement of crude oil. There are many ways to generate electricity, some of which can be renewable and nonpolluting. As we clean up the grid, we would simultaneously clean up the transportation fleet.

  • @patrick42h Yes, and hopefully we will also see some alternate fuels. I'm personally looking forward to hydrogenpowered cars.

  • @Jellegeed Which is bacillary an electric car with a hydrogen fuel cell instead of a battery-pack. (I know hydrogen can also be burned in a combustion engine or as a suppliant to gasoline)

  • @Jellegeed That is probably the most common argument against electric cars. The fact is that research has shown that even in areas in the united states where the power plants are least clean an electric car is at least 27% more clean than a regular internal combustion car. In California where there are a lot of hydro power that number is 85-95%.

  • Why does she have all those animals in her car? Isn't that illegal?

  • But Sean... I thought you were blue.

  • my teacher playes this song all the time in class. And we always want to listen to it and sing with and dance. Hes an awesome teacher :) <3 And I'm in G6!

  • @astridthepastrid OMG YOUR TALKING ABOUT MR.SHEETS! OMG OMG OMG ISNT HE AWESOME! ISNT THIS SONG AWESOME!?!?!?!?! Last year your grade started this whole song thing but sadly it was close to the end of the year...... but I still have it as my ringtone and stuff!!! AHH i love this song! Ok im done sounding like a sapz :)

    Whats your name?

  • @Linzee1998

No, I'm talking about my teacher, Mr. McKinney. I live in Hong Kong, go to HKA?!?! lol

  • Electric cars are actually coal powered since that is how most electricity is generated. Eco-propaganda is silly and superficial. Usually TMBG tries to get you think about things at a deeper level, but They Might Be Getting it wrong on this one, like they did on "Why Does the Sun Shine?" To start to understand the challenge of energy use research (Google) "Energy Density" to determine the efficacy of an electric vehicle (without regard to its practicality in a given situation).

  • @BifMcAwesome even an electric car that is powered by 100% coal is cleaner than a gas vehicle. electric cars can use any form of energy. solar, wind nuclear or coal. Anything that will end our dependence on foreign oil is a good thing.

  • @onesojourner -Your point about reducing our dependence on foreign oil is a good one. If we were to build the nuclear and coal powered electric generating plants that provided the power that took the place of foreign oil that would be a very good thing. I would even be for getting our non-oil sources developed up to the point to where we would be net exporters of petroleum, which would further dimenish the world's dependence on oil from the trouble making parts of the globe.

  • everyone in the class loves this song!!! XD also paleontologist

  • my teacher played this for my class and now every one wants to hear it again omg it is so awsome

  • Don't want an electric car? Buy a diesel engine and fill it w biodiesel. Karl Diesel invented the diesel engine 2 run on ethanol alcohol. Ford motors began producing the model t w/ a diesel engine. They believed a car run on a renewable source would take the power out of Standard Oil (founded by Rockafeller) n put it back into the hands of working people. Rockafeller sponsored the bill which became known as Prohibition. 4 8 yrs Ford made the model t then gave up. 1 yr l8r prohibition was lifted.

  • Catchy :)

  • My science teacher has this song on his computer and he lets us listen to this when we are working on papers!!

    It's the school's favorite!!

On a scale from one to ten I rate it a 8 or 7

  • @pecci99

    so does mine!

  • Wait... the electric car was under water? How's that possible?

  • i hate this song!

  • Just get a honda crx hf...better milege then ANY hybrid ever invented

  • The Oil companies are trying their best to stop free energy ideas from spreading to common ppl.

We need to put an end to this corruption ,start generating your own electricity now.

Visit LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM and get the blueprints . Join the Revolution!!

  • Electric cars aren't a cure-all, and aren't inherently "green." It remains to be seen where we will get all the lithium etc for batteries, and there are questions about battery disposal. More importantly, what really matters is the energy source that charges the battery. If you are just charging it off the grid, and the grid is powered by coal, it is only slightly better than driving a gasoline car. Environmentalists and bands like TMBG need to be completely accurate if they are to preach.

  • @FearsomeDanger21 -It is refreshing to see a person that considers the greater aspect of energy consumption rather than get pulled in by all the hype.

  • Wow what I always wanted. A cardboard box car! It only costs $41,000 dollars and gets 40 miles to a charge! What a deal.

  • Uh.. ok. Cute song. (But "Particle Man" is their best. Actually, it's the only other song I've heard by "They Might Be Giants".)

I love the beginning of the episode of "The Simpsons" episode "Beyond Blunderdome" starring Mel Gibson in which Homer test drives the electric car into the ocean and returns it to the dealer because it "does not meet my eco-needs".

The only way to get affordable EVs is to outlaw all other kinds. Americans are too stupid to do anything other than by force.

  • @deskset24 Are you American because if you are you just called yourself stupid.

  • @syron13 Luckily, I am not American (even if I sometimes need to pretend to be, in certain circumstances).

  • @deskset24 -And Americans don't take well to being forced to do things against their will. We don't cotton to Fascism, even of the eco variety. In America, the government does not own the People, We the People own the government, no matter how stupid our so-called betters think we are.

  • @BifMcAwesome Then according to you, Americans are free to smoke pot and consume whatever drugs they want (cocaine, heroin), because, according to you, Americans "don't take well to being forced to do things against their will".

And Americans will defend other Americans who are illegally kidnapped by judges and courts and prisons.

  • @deskset24 -Many Americans don't like the force used in the so-called "War on Drugs". I would not have a problem with people freely choosing to use these as long as they are the only ones who pay the consequences, including societal opprobrium and ostracism by the likes of me. I believe the "war on drugs" has justified too much power in the hands of the government, just like the 18th Amendment to the Constitution, and we are still suffering from the unintended consequences of that experiment.

  • my lil' boy whose 1yrs ...just loves this song....

  • Is that Ira Glass?

  • As a conservative Christian, I'm appalled by these stinking environmentalists' attempt to brainwash children.

  • @gbCerberus37 Seriously? Trying to save the planet does not warrant such insults. That's a most un-Christian attitude. Shame on you!

  • @DaniMGB Heh, sorry. That was me being a troll/Poe. I own and love this album.

  • My 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Noack, showed this to my class, and oh, everyone loved it!

  • my little brother adores this :)

  • this just doesn't feel like they might be giants...... the song is catchy, but it's not them......

  • my 8 month old son leo loves this song ..everytime it cmes on tv he 's engrossed by it an i find it good too ....ordered the dvd off amazon :)

  • I don't like this song, not because of the message, I just don't

  • Subliminal.

    New world order brainwashing children.

    How low can they sink?

  • @TheHepworth

It's hardly subliminal. It's quite overt, really. "Lets all drive an electric car". :P

  • @ThalassTKynn

    No. It's subliminal.

Global warmings my fault? Ha bloody ha.

  • Haha! I LOVE this song! We listen to this song in science! We start to sing it so loud the other classes can hear us. I also luv the day crocket one.

  • I think it's good to let children hear music about trying to save earth, but hey, that's just my opinion.

  • Love this song lool !

  • My thought is that if the trillions of dollars in the bailout were put into building alternative energy, many jobs would have been created and the economy would have evened out a bit.

  • my 3 year old daughter loves this song and sings it when its on Tv.

  • ._.

  • I dont like disney stuff its a bunch of manufactured crap

  • WARNING: Electric cars may induce feelings of euphoria, hallucinations, dizzy spells and even accidental death

  • Actually, what would be better is Evacuated Tube Transportation. . . but that's just my opinion. I wouldn't mind traveling at 4,000 + MPH.

  • I like it when it drops! :) (Y)

  • Ya electric cars a super idea!.. .We can use electricity to power our cars and just plug them in and charge them using electricity from the COAL BURNING PLANTS... That will be such a great adjustment to making green... Sorry to ruin such a song and for being bursting any bubbles, but nothing is that spectacular about a less efficient car that doesn't go as fast.. just saying... Neat videos though

  • @freedomfry444 What about solar power and all those other green forms of electricity?

  • @IDontDoNumbers There aren't very many places that use "green" ways of electricity because solar and wind powered plants aren't that efficient and do not produce as much as people hope for. I'm very set on Al Gore being a puppet master with his ozone and global warming nonsense. He is the definition of a BAD politician. I don't want to come off as being a stuck up far right republican, but I'll drive my gas powered vehicle until I can't anymore.

  • B-)

  • First watched this video in chemistry. This video rocks haha!

  • several electric vehicles coming in the next months (not years- woohoo!) get ready to drive on domestic supplied energy

  • Haha!! I Can totally imagine an wesome rap remix by the black eyed peas or something!! LOL!! :P

  • i havnt heard these songs in 4 or 5 yrs ahh i rembered the lyrics tho like where do they make balloons omg i miss these song

  • you can buy electric cars in sweden now

    they look pretty wierd :p

  • I don't like that car but it's good for the earth

  • Comment removed

  • very cute indeed :P

  • so adorable

  • brb driving electric car full of animals into ocean

  • lol to u

  • oh god, I couldn't stop laughing after reading this, many Internets to you good sir.

  • its catchy

  • That would be perfet for little kids. ^cute^

  • Haha lol This is Good For Kids=]

  • Cute ^_^

  • o wow im gonna lol when this music video actually goes on disney channel... its cute for kids tho

  • It's ok I guess, but since it's Disney I did expect something more original. It's not supposed to be kids TV in that sense!

  • was that the as the bell ring school in the bacground?

  • Cute, but are they trying to make little kids (pre-k) go green and make their parents buy electric cars? I don't think they are targeting the right audience because the kids wouldn't really care...

  • Education start when you're young. If you learn to be green when you're in elementary school you will (ideally) grow up to be a more Earth friendly adult.

  • this is cute

  • cute cute :D

  • that's cute

  • just make sure the bylaws don't allow police to give tickets for you leaving your electric car on like with gasoline engines.... 50 -100 dollar fine for that crap.

  • I don't get it?
