Classic track from way back when. You can hear that heavy "Slave" influence or was it the other way around? Wonderful memories of the Loft and Paradise Garage.
@Sal1675... this era of music come from the soul... how can something almost 30 plus yrs old still sound as funky as its infant stages.. During its hey day WHATTT. you were very lucky to find an empty spot on the dance florr. ohh wait IM ON MY WAY.. to the dance floor with the old school crew as @veewee slamms us claSSICK LOVERS with an abundance of SMOKIN TUNES.. that rumor of DISCO dieing .. no way..it went underground & had a baby & named it HOUSE..1LOVE.. Peace..Port..keep em comin!
Yes they have to! I rarely hear funky musics for example in the radio .. These days today's musicians always copying each other and trying to make the same stuffs which isn't good.
Has that sort of funky futuristic vibe going on with the base line, enough to drive u crazy here, this kinda music is like drugs,it just really gets to you,i can be on the dancefloor dancing the whole night throught to this or even if i hear this song on the street,it may take a tranquilizer and a straight jacket to get me to stop dancing.
I feel ya brother. Mark Adams got alot of folks high back in the day. Not to influence anyone, but I'm talkin stereo in a dark room lit only by Black Light glowing off posters on four walls. A 75mm fat Twisty just being lit. Man you could go places in that music thats like sex.
This is a great track. It really is. I wonder how long before so one covers this or more likely samples this track. The bass line is fantastic, and it seems as if its done be Mark Adams (From Slave fame!). Wonderful times for lovers of black music at this period of time.
They are a spin-off from Slave, they we're actually their background singers on the track "Just A Touch Of Love" and after that track was made they decide to form a group of their own and that's how Aurra was born so that explains the Slave influence.
This is Mark Adams doing his thing. "Plangk" the sound is there!

Steve Washington also played bass on George Clinton's " Hey Good Look'n", with Vanessa Williams the model/actress singing the female lead part..

The bass is being played by the "Fearless Leader" and trumpet player..Steve Washington. Not Mark Adams..

There's only one Mr. Mark ,aka "Da Brute". His bass should be at the Smithsonian.

Such a FAT FAT bassline. This tune picks you up and doesnt let you go from start to finish. Tight and raw.

Bass lines like this make me wonder what the hell Mark Adams was thinking when constructing it . Just crazy.

Everybody loved the sound from Mark Adams bass guitar then, and now. Its sounds so funky even today, and made Slave and Aurra stand out

Great tune, although in my opinion "Happy Feeling" is the best track they ever recorded. Turn that up LOUD and I'm in heaven!
