I just finished participating in my second "Buglers Across America". I played taps for the 9/11 vicitims, our troops and all the family and friends affected by that horrible day. I played my trumpet under the 161 and 315 bridge near Thomas Worthington High school (Columbus, OH). It is probably the most peaceful place I know because I like to fish at that location - plus the acoustics are amazing. 9/11 always in my heart and I will never forget.
When you get a minute check out my Video channel called:
"Kato's Music Room" @ vodpod dot com/katosmusicroom
There are a LOT of inspirational messages from Bishop T.D Jakes, Bishop Noel Jones, Dr. Jamal Bryant, as well as complete episodes of my favorite TV shows like "TV One's Unsung", "I hate Chris" etc....You'll also find videos of my favorite music artist's like Marvin Gaye, Enchantment, Al Green & Gospel Music !
I'd have to imagine he's trying to do this to emphasize the good in our country. Sure our government is totally fucked, but many of the people living here are still decent. I heard him talking about this song and he said it used to come on when he was a kid (the Ray Charles version) after the TV broadcast was done. He felt it was truly soulful and inspiring. I like to think he's trying to bring that same feeling to people today being as that rap music isn't going to do it.
Pass the bucket I need to puke. I'm guessing from the video there's no irony in this song? Keb Mo sees dollar signs...America the beautiful? After Iraq? After Bush? After 'rendition'? After global financial meltdown? America the bankrupt more like, both morally and fiscally. But at least they have lovely teeth, so that makes everything ok...
(No i am not from the middle east, or the KKK or a commy). And before you get on your high horses, I'm equally ashamed of my own county's actions.
@eggymoo That song speaks to me. I know all that is wrong with this country, and I agree with you politically, but keb is an artist, he is driven to make great music, it is not about the money I assure you. This brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it. I learned to play this song exactly like he does, it is a master piece adapted to a slide guitar, and a joy to play once you get the moves down
@eggymoo One more thing, America is not the government, and not wallstreet, and not a bunch of rich bankers and corporate heads, they are all corrupt in my opinion, and buy the laws they want. America is the people, the middle class and poor , that truly love the land and their neighbors, and strive to help one another. That is the true America. I am a 61 yr old white male, and I love Keb and his music.
@pkramer123 well go figure the KKK hate black people and as a generalised statement middle east hates america....and no not cause of the whole terrorism thing the fact that they bully their country and basically in my opinion are only there to steal all the oil they can.....just my opinion
Not American and this song doesn't mean anything special to me and to hear it in its usual "Glory" mode is even a bit overbearing. Except when its done by Hendrix or Mo.Then it's brilliant.
This song makes me proud to be human. I love the earth and the creatures that inhabit our wonderful world. I am committed to controlling my thoughts so only words of love and kindness fill our planet with kindness, hope and compassion. I hope your journey is filled with joy and pure contentment - A hug for all.
My God, Keb Mo is amazing...I wish I could find him singing "I'm so Lonesome I Could Cry." It's the best cover of a Hank Williams song I've ever heard...

America you thought happiness was granted through stuff leaving you in fear if you don't have it. You now know happiness is granted when you feed another equally as yourself through the stuff you buy. America is great and the universe is waiting on you to share your greatness, we are ready to receive the lessons you have learned. What have you learned? What do you know is wrong and what do you believe is right? how is it working?

@Judy101101 Judy what lessons have we (America) really learned? That the world doesn't appreciate America, first to give, first to defend, first to die in many cases. No thanks from the world... let the world kill itself, speaking as one American. I am tired of saving your asses! It's like a parent to a child: grow the fuck up and get the hell out on your own!
@TheTrollMallet Can we dispense with the bullshit for a second? For as long as I've been alive I've heard this "We been saving the world" nonsense, but I'll be damned if I can see it. Vietnam? Iraq? Afghanistan? Abject failures, every one, and much misery they've brought everyone involved, thanks entirely to us. Or perhaps you're one of those history-deficient types who still thinks America rode in on a white horse and singlehandedly won WWII? Please read a book, it's just not so.

Want to dispense with bullshit and then spew a cart load. Oh and you forgot the successes (convienently) WWI,WWII,Cold War! I guess the book you read was written by a GD liberal?
I believe there is still good in all of us if we just look harder and choose to love each other everyday. There would be more happiness from sea to shinning sea.
I Love Keb Mo and this video is terrific your new baby and family r gorgeous thanx for all the wonderful music and many years of happy listening u r truley an amazing artist and my family enjoys you 2 love, laura &Da Boyzzz

Beautiful...I have watched this video several times and it couldn't have been done better! Our world is a melting pot of peoples, nations and tribes scattered all over the planet. Music is the spice of life and this video acts as a universal bridge offering up a harmony that helps us to appreciate and respect the specialness of each place!! Bravo!!
There are soo many different events and scenery changes that sum up part of the goings on in the USA.. and Keb-Mo Has an Awesome Voice. The video is perfectly cut and edited!
