what can i use intead of cheerios ???? Please respond ! i just bought like a huge box of cocoa puffs and i dont want to waste money buying other cereal because i dont really like cheerios
@arkeljankushova i would use any bird food pellet in place of the cheerios ( i use ZuPreem NutBlend Flavor it smells so good you will want to eat it your self no joke ) just grind in a food processor or blender. I add it to my birdy bread.
I made these for new cockatiel and he loves them!!! He's a young bird, only 6 months old or so, and at first he didn't know what they were, or what to do with them. It took a couple of days for him to realize they were a food item. Now he's devouring them like mad! TY so much for this recipe. It's so easy to make.
@usmansadaaf You should use the plain cheerios.. Not honey flavored, not frosted, because those type have extra sugar that the plain ones don't. Sugar isn't good for your birds.
Lovely video. I do this for all of my birds from finches up to Meyer's - and the egg food too- and variations of it. The birds love it. Your birds look healthy and beautiful. {:>)=
@XsnowpeaX There are many different kinds of honey. There is creamed honey, white honey, golden honey, even red and purple honey. It all depends on what colour the flower is that the bees harness from :)
please give me an answer, if we have small birds like parakeets how many cup of cheerios, honey, and seed mixture do we use? can it last long outside? because i made my parakeets and cockatiel a big aviary outside and can it last in the refigerator? because i really like your recipe and i want to know
@KarinaRockss Regular. No "frosted cheerios" or anything like that. The only sugar my birds get is fruit (when I can get them to eat it), never any processed sugar!
@sangam061289 No, dog food is not a healthy for birds. It has a lot more protein in it then they need, which can cause health problems. I'm sure they can be given a piece or two without issue, but I wouldn't ever use it as their main diet. Different animals have different foods for a reason.

isnt honey bad for birds? becuse i have 1 idont know what feed him ihave seeds
sadd909 2 months ago
@sadd909 Pet stores sell these. Honey treat sticks. I think too much of anything is bad, but honey, given in moderation, should be ok.

Hi, where I'm at, It's pretty hard to find cherrios. can i use Kellogg's cereal instead? pls reply :) thanks for sharing!
iliruzanna94 4 months ago
@iliruzanna94 Just don't use any "frosted" cereals with sugar on them. Only plain cheerios, plain wheat cereals, etc.

These treats be good for larger birds too? (Macaws)
1723Trains 8 months ago
@1723Trains For larger birds, use a food mixture made for Macaws or larger birds. You can use a larger pellet mixture instead of cheerios.
