  • Eccellente!

  • nice cover, what standard of playing do you think this song requires?

  • @skillzdatkillz900 It's not particularly difficult to play the tones, you really have to watch out for dynamics and phrasing. I had been playing guitar for two years when I recorded this so it's not that hard. Just put your heart in it ;)

  • Hey Leozingy You Rock and your video is now on

Top of the Page at GuitarsPeopleDotCom

in the Videos > Epiphone Page Good Job !

  • I think I have very similar Gibson...which model is this?

  • @Rockfanliker It's an Epiphone with Ibanez Super 58 pickups. I write the gear I use in the video description (under the video is an expandable video description).

  • Damn ! your good, nice rendition of a all time favourite.. Respect

  • @xcrecker you can try to find the midi version, and then mute the overdriven guitar

  • where can i get the background music?? thx :)

  • tu eres Carlos santana verdad

  • Ok but should use the bass tones more then the high end. Very good son. You remind me of myself 30 years ago. Thank you.

  • great

  • You are truly gifted guitarist.

  • good song, excellent!

  • Smooth groove. KEEP IT LIVE

  • Nice work.

  • muito bem tocada

  • Great cover, and very nice guitar ! Love it.

  • You are good !!!

  • +.+

  • Lepo odigrano. Škoda, da kvaliteta video posnetka ni malo boljša.

  • Very nice!

  • soooooo wonderful !!!!!!

    i like !!

    SYL

  • Nice one. Very natural!

  • how many hours of works are there to play it well? You play very well..

  • thanks well played

  • You haven't the softness of Santana.. But you can still trying :)...

  • Shut up! he is pretty good, his style is unique. You should clean your ears.

  • @RaikiKohai one plays as one feels

  • love ur guitar

  • you are amazing.

  • Terrible, the worst I've ever heard, awful.... Who am I kidding ? Gonna crawl back under my rock until I can play like this dude....

  • perfect !!!

  • great :D

  • Nice cherry sunburst Les Paul.

  • really nive job man

    you re great

  • check mine too

    and nice cover

  • loved it :-)

  • Beautiful performance! A big hug :-) John.

  • Thank you! Giving you a hug right back! :-)

  • yeahh!! you are right!! there are so many bad tabs on internet!! i just start on the guitar and i already know that!!

  • very nice playing, where can i get the correct tab for that song, some of the ones i found didnt sound right

  • There are some incorrect tabs on the internet, but the best thing to do is use them, use your ears and correct the errors. Listen to the original recording and rewrite the tab. You'll learn a lot that way.

  • have to give you props. very good.

  • niceee!!!!!

  • Where can I get the backing tracks? Europa and Samba pa ti ? I have the mp3 version, but I want to load them on a cd. Good job playing too!

  • Search for backing tracks on the internet, there is a page where the backing track is avaliable for free, it should come up in the first few search hits, so don't worry. (can't post the link here though cause it gets marked as spam automatically).

  • ouch caliente!!

    haha good job

  • good job man

  • Excellent job. 5*

  • whooooooo calidad...

  • nice guitar~

  • this is really great !

  • good cover nice guitar

  • dude you're great i don't know why these people write so many critics you're good great cover

  • It's like Hemingway trying to be Naipual

  • Hey, what do you mean by that?

  • I wouldn't really call this a jam, more like a cover of the song... A jam would be considered with more of improvisation...

  • It's not a jam, it's a cover. The book is just called that way - "Jam with Carlos Santana". :)

  • ye ye ye ye tocas bien XD!!!!!

  • tabs o partitutras

  • nice job ans song!~!!!!!!!really good ..!!!!

  • Nice playing, nice tone. Why do you hold the guitar like that? If you get bored, check mine out and let me know what you think.

  • wooooh great job

  • luv the sound produced from the guituar and the guituar player ...A++ on the cover

  • Wow!! Nice Job ;)

  • Hola, quisiera saber el título de una canción en inglés que uso como fondo este tema de santana... es una antigua, 60s o 70s, creo

  • Very good cover !! Really nice !

  • Nice work!

I'm trying to keep up with the tone and pickup changes as you go.

I play an Epiphone Les Paul Ultra with Gibson pickups, as well as an Epiphone G400 SG with P90's.

I have a lot of practicing to do before I reach your level.

  • Don't worry, just rely on your ears and you'll play even better! Great gear you got there... I'm still saving up to buy Gibson Burstbuckers for my Epiphone.

P90's have a nice tone to 'em. Be sure to upload something with both guitars! Keep playing - great tone comes with patience, time, practice and most of all - joy of playing.

  • The Les Paul Ultra has a '57 Classic at the neck and a Burstbucker Pro at the bridge. I like to just improvise around with scales and different amp, volume, and tone settings. I need a tube amp though. The G-DEC 30 is fun for practice, and the drum and bass lines are more fun than a metronome, but the sounds aren't as cool as a real tube amp.

  • 'scuseme, is that really Carlos? Can u document same.? great job,

  • hey man. great job. i was listening to this and started jamming on my own guitar to it, and by then end of it i forgot that it wasn't santana. hahah. plus that backing track is really good. it makes a diff that you're not just guitar masturbating to a drum machine.

  • Woah, thanks for the compliment! I'm glad you liked it.

  • Really nice cover

  • great, but i dont know how to play it, if someone can give the tabs please

    5/5

  • man that was PERFECT...10/10

  • awesome playing mate =D

  • Good :)

  • Great,

    5stars!!!

    Santana in da house ;)

  • Thanks! Means a lot coming from a great guitar player!

  • GREATE JOB MAN.

  • Great playing. Keep it up, man.

  • GREAT video! some day I will play this song as well as you have. Congrats.

  • i like the ending phrase

  • la tocas bien chido brother felicidades... tu les paul es una epiphone o gibson... suena chido si es epihpone.. si que sabes ecualizar!!!

  • de donde la sacaste

  • good job man!!

  • so on this jam with carlos santana thing, does it show you tabs or whats it like ? because i tryed getting the tabs for this i i know they aren't accurate

  • My way round this was to find an accurate midi file and then use Anvil Studio to isolate the lead line, and then Tabledit to create an accurate TAB.

  • I noticed you found an accurate file for samba pa ti tabs, I too have found the tabs I get dont seem to be what is in the song, would u share tabs at least for the firs few lines...

  • See the PM I just sent you.

  • the song is pretty easy im sure youll get it if you try listening to it while you play along.....

  • se dice que existe una carta de carlos santana invitando a tocar con el a Tilo Paiz, uno de los mas destacados bateristas de el salvador, de la decada del 60 70

  • Muy interesante, gracias.

  • COOL!!!!! :)

  • this is the best cover. just great.

  • very good rendition indeed - played with a lot of feeling - great soundsand skill showed.

  • Thanks for sharing this great video!

  • hey man, during the song, are you lowering the volume? or the tone knob? great cover by the way! really really good =)

  • Yes, I'm using the volume knob quite a lot. Santana does it as well, it really changes the character of the guitar nicely - without using pedals. I'm really glad I learned to use it this early in my playing. I highly recommend it, get the most out of your guitar! Thank you all for the comments.

  • please email me your tabs...please?

  • Really good cover, talent.

  • You play the original album version like I do in my video of this song. The bad camera doesn't do your performance justice. Great job though; very accurate!

  • yeaa this is wonderfull

excelente mi amigo que charli santana te mande a llamar !!!!!

  • not bad at all

  • Thanks, i have fun playing barre chord rhythm guitar to your lead which is outstanding.

  • You have skills and a soul, man!

  • BRAVO!! I thoroughly enjoyed your play. Thank u :)

  • dove hai scaricato la base??

  • Trovare su internet, google: samba pa ti backing track. Mi auguro che aiuta. (I'm using google translate here, so hopefully you understood everything).

  • thank you

  • Hello, soy de chile. a question, think you can get this melody on a keyboard? very good job with the guitar. greetings.

  • Yes, you can play it on a keyboard, no problem. You just have to play slurs instead of bending (hope you understand the terminology). So instead of bending the string from source to target note, on a keyboard you play the inbetween tones swiftly and lightly. So with precise execution of chromatic passages on the keyboard - you could pull this one off!

  • Great Skills man. I enjoyed it.

  • Well he is playing a Les Paul.

  • nice job man!!

  • Great job!! Very impressive

  • where do you get the backing track to play along with?

  • The book "Jam With Carlos Santana" comes with a CD. You might get it on the internet, search for "free backing tracks" and hopefully you'll get it.

  • you got some skills

  • Is an Eko "VL480Cherry" your guitar?

  • :D No, it's an Epiphone Les Paul. But those EKO guitars are quite a rarity, if you can find a really good model (and piece) in great condition. But the biggest credit deserve the Tech21 Trademark and Ibanez Super 58 pickups.

  • is it and Lp-100? or is it a Studio?

  • It's a Les Paul Standard with quite some modifications (read video description).

  • Nice sound and well played.

  • Pure talent...

    Exceptional work.

have you got any tab of this song?

  • Somebody deleted my previous comment!!! The tab is from a tab book Jam With Carlos Santana. A great book, look for it in stores or on the internet! Thank you for the comment.

  • I love Gibson Les Pauls so much!

    Keep going. Great job.

  • I bow to you my friend...pure talent...to duplicate a song as such, and with such finess and I would say better than the original composer.

  • ah crap sorry i accidently just rated this 1 star....i meant to give it 5 sorry!

  • um hae leozingy

i plae dah guitar im priddy gud id sae

    but u are tha man

    dat waz mean azzz

kuld u tell us how tah plae dah bit at 1:11

to 1:13 jus tell us wat string an fret

    if u want 2

    awsum bloody awsum

  • Thanks for your very detailed tone lesson =^)

  • thanks a lot

    u rock¡¡¡

  • could you pleas tell me your amp settings, cause i just learnd it and it just dontsounds sooo great :S

    pls reply me

again nice vid and keep rockin´

  • Ok, I used the US speaker, Hi-Gain OD and US setting on the Trademark 10 amp from Tech 21. Use mids and bass around 2 o'clock (approx. 2/3 open) and keep the treble at 12 o'clock (1/2 open). Use moderate amount of gain - start at low setting and increase until you get a nice amount but STILL KEEP THE DYNAMICS! Don't overcompress the sound (keep it on the edge) and then use the volume knob to clear up the sound. Keep the bridge pickupe quite open and close the volume somewhat on the neck.

  • Ok, so you flip between the smooth, calm setting on the neck and the wild and cutting sound on the bridge. Flip to the middle when you want the mix of the two (I would advise you to use only the bridge and inbetween settings for the tone closer to the original - the inbetween for the beginning, the bridge once the edgier part starts... for the end solo open both volumes and flip between the bridge and neck). Otherwise the most of the tone is in the fingers - the chokes, the bends and phrasing.

  • really nice vid, 5 stars

    hey

  • great nicely done :):)

  • Pretty damn good!

  • good work man!

  • ABSOLUTELY SUPERB!!!!

Thank you for your skill and presentation

  • wow... that was one of the best covers i've ever heard.... thank you very much for sharing this...

btw, where did you get that great backing track from? sounds really great together with the guitar

  • It's written in the description - "Courtesy of Jam With Carlos Santana" - it's a songbook with a CD with backing tracks. A great learning book!

  • thanks

  • Man! That was excellent stuff!

Great skills and technique. Thanks for uploading and inspire people like myself.

    grts. Franco

  • Thanks! Your video is quite good btw, I left you a comment and a 5 star rating ;) Keep the soulful music alive!

  • Preciosa!!! eso es tocar guitarra mi hermano te convertiste en uno de mis guitarristas favoritos!! esa cancion es perfecta y la tocaste perfectamente!!!!!!

  • dude amazing!!!!!!

and nice guitar i like it!

  • how did you learn this was it a book, tabs or a video if it was tabs from were

  • I learned it from the tab book Jam With Carlos Santana, but I learned most of it off the original record, which I recommend (tabs don't teach you how to play with feeling, the original recordings do).

  • ur awesome

  • viva santana viva mexico

  • uhmm is that u carlos??? i dont see the face but i bet it iss haha really good job playing. theis is the best cover. nice job nice feeling

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHA That sounded like that old deodorant commercial back in the 80's..!! LOL!!!

  • santana for ever the best of song all mundial

  • This is the best cover of Samba Pa Ti on Youtube.

  • Wow, thank you.

  • Nice song to start the day, isn't it ? Check out my vids !

  • Yeah, your vids are nice (love the telecaster!).

  • That's an Epi Les Paul. Teles are nice, too, but that's an LP.

  • im pretty sure thats a gibson cus its got a bigger body then an epiphone

  • It's an Epi, but I'd love to have a Gibson :D Funny though, some friends have told me it sounds like a Gibby, but plays even better (and that was coming among others also from a die-hard Gibson enthusiast which I take as a really big compliment for my "li'l Epi").

  • if you stick a top-quality pair of humbuckers in an epi LP i don't think many people could hear a difference, epis are really great

  • that was great......simply cool

  • your doin the great man proud

  • dude, your cover is amazing!! :D

  • bonsoir trop cool

  • Nice work. You're honest saying it's not a perfect copy, but imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and it'll do. I still have my original copy of the Abraxas album, from the week it was released. B-)

  • Wow! That's some rarity you got there, nice! I recently purchased two Santana vinyl LPs, Greatest Hits and Havana Moon (with The Fabulous Thunderbirds, an awesome band!). And I saw Santana on July 1st in Salzburg (will be uploading some vids from that soon)... 1st row, 8 feet away from Carlos himself :)

  • Very nice guitar, How much would one of those cost?

  • Thanx for the compliment. The Epiphone Les Paul Standard is 300-500 Euro, depends on the model (and the store :D ). You could get a used one really cheap. Mine is a limited run, faded finish, modded with different tuners and pickups (I highly recommend changing stock hardware on it) - Gibson pots, Ibanez Super 58 pups, Schaller Deluxe tuners. To sweeten the tone - turn up the amp and fiddle with the volume control to find the sweet spot.

  • Excelente melodia....

    Carlos Santana la lleva!!

  • *cheesy but true moment*

man i always wondered how santana could be so awsome sounding...i kinda guess a little sound moding...but u...u just proved that wrong...very nice

  • superbe !!!

  • nice

  • very proper indeed, accurate!

  • I'm doing this song for the spanish fair at our school tommorow, i just learned this last night and today, and I want to personally thank you so much because this video solely taught me this song, and i don't think i couldve done it without this. Thank you very much!

  • Wow, glad I could help. Hope you rip it up at the spanish fair! Greets.
