First time for such a complete view of a glacier, very few people could do this. It would have taken all day on foot. The raw sound of the engines is better than any music and the true speed gives the dramatic feeling of being there.
It is kind of like a river, down a mountain, of very very very packed snow/ice that is constantly moving down the grade of the mountain, carving and grinding its way down grade. It is an extremely powerful erosional process and is seen throughout the globe. Glaciers are formed at the highest peaks and valleys via seasonal snow fall. As it builds up, it can no longer remain static, and begins "flowing" downstream.
Yea, I figured it would be more interesting if I left the sound of the helicopter in just like it was when we where there. And we where listening to an iPod over the helicopter radio/ earmuffs. So it's realistic except the music we listened to on the helicopter was like Magic Carpet Ride, Cold Play - Beautiful world, Enya, and helicopter theme related songs.
Yeah, I have some video of us landing on the glacier and walking around... It was a family trip. I am editing all the video to give to my family for christmas. I figured I should post some of the more amazing stuff.
ha u posted this on october 24th....thats my birthday!
