Your supposed to make the" fasten seat belt announcement & chairs in the upright position " at least 10 minutes prior to touchdown.....not 30 seconds before landing as this pilot does.........its a bad reflection for Egypt air .....no wonder no other airline will employ him.....!!!

Actually, you will find that Landing in Egypt and most Middle East countries is a lot easier then landing in Europe or N America, due to the persisitent high pressure system, and the <5 kts of cross winds they encounter.

All you have to do is line up and throttle back, and follow the glidepath.

@baronzee Is the ear popping bad? I hate flying for that reason but I haven't gone overseas yet? Just inside the U.S and the popping is crazy painful.

There are ear plugs form pharmacist which are for just flight, and they do help,

get a decongestant (non drowsy) and take it 30min before flight. Put your ear plugs once in the plane even if it is still loading, pressurisation procedure starts during taxi, once plane is at its cruise altitude, noramlly around the mid 30,000ft, depending on where you are going, you can take them out. Again, when plane is about to descend put the ear plugs in again. Hope it helps

@baronzee Actually, you are completely wrong and visibility in Egypt is horrible, you can't see anything through the sand, dust and smog, it's like a heavy winter storm. Egyptian pilots are just the best ever, Egyptian pilots can land on any airfield, short or big and make the best landings ever.

Thats right... they have to make sure, that people fastend there seatbelts before landing. BUT NOT 10 feet above ground. Try to fasten your seatbelt 3 seconds before touchdown. That´s not possible!!! Also, the FA´s can´t get sure, because they are already fastend!!! Sure... i´ve been already on a plane before. Sometimes 3 times a week, somtimes 10 times a week and so on. AND THAT EVERY WEEK!!! but not on egyptair before... ;) Try another airline!
