i bartended this year at ACL.....one of my first years to be there! I am embarrassed to say that was the first time ive ever heard them, but seeing them and hearing them in the same instance changed my world of music!!!! i am so glad the first time i listened to them was live. It was a gift.

This was an AMAZING show. Arcade Fire put on a great set in sweltering heat at ACL. Austin in September can be really hot AND humid. It was one of the hottest days of the year and they went full throttle. They came back last year, but it wasn't as impressive. If you can, find footage of the rest of this. It will be worth your time.

The band isn't really reliant on anyone to promote their material. They already had time as the "it" indie band for a while. Their ability to continually crank out great live shows separates them from most groups and will continue to give them popularity in the future.

Arcade Fire DESTROYED Starlight Theater. I didn't think you could play that intensely to 2K-3K people. Some of whom weren't exactly the most cathartic audience.

at the Minneapolis concert in Roy Wilkins, which is a VERY VERY VERY old venue, there was about 5K people there and the floor was packed. It got so INTENSELY loud when they left the stage; we all jump and screamed so loud I couldn't even hear myself. After about 5 minutes of screaming [yes, it was literally 5 minutes] they came out and played two finale encores! IT WAS SWEET THEY BLEW LCD OVER BY A LONGSHOT!

I find it hard to believe they blew LCD away. They are both fantastic if completely different. I saw both at ACL and they were both great. I would think LCD would be even better in a club environment instead of 100 degree heat.
