Scary Truth: Technically you aren't sleep during surgery, you are in a paralyzed state, your hearing is still working though. So basically you hear your surgery going on and them talking the whole time, but the anesthesia knocks out your short-term memory so you don't remember a thing. That's scary as shit right?

I saw this movie last night. IMO, this movie had potential and this is a very important topic, but they messed it up with an over the top plot. They should have made a movie about a regular John Doe and divided the movie into 3 parts: 1) him living his life before the surgery 2) the day of the surgery and the surgery itself 3) how his life is effected after experiencing anesthetic awareness (PTSD, how it effects him at work, his relationships, etc.)

@83912daniela Yes, the pain is so bad, it'll shock you. You'd die immediately. Especially the type of surgery performed on the guy in the movie. You have to watch to understand :)

This happened to me i swear. a routine hernia surgery. i heard voices and I was terrified i couldnt move but i heard things like Scalple and get some guass and such i was 9 i couldnt move or speak or feel but i heard everything until i regained feeling the doctors said i knocked off my gass mask twenty minuites before schedualed to wake up please ask your surgen about not underdosing you. it was the most horrific expirience in my life

There have been Korean films about Anesthetic Awareness- but that is the only similarity. That would be like calling Paranormal Activity a remake of The Others because they both are about ghosts.

The whole plot line of this film is original- and this is a very unique film. Check your info. for validity before posting.

Loved this movie. The part where he realised he was still awake and they were about to cut him open for the surgery gave me chills. The way he screamed made my spine crawl. Can you imagine being awake during surgery but not being able to move or speak at all to call for help. Freaky...

Anesthesia Awareness. after reading about this film and watching the trailer i'm not caring about getting shots but about getting surgeries and being awake during them! such a good idea for a plot yet it's so disturbing to even think about.
