I would label the rails of the table DEAD... consider having your friend have the rails redone by an area billiard shop. That table I was shooting on in the video was purchased used, great table! They all have great potential if cared for. Take care!
I know someone who bought a used pool table off craigslist, and the balls do not bounce off the rails right.
