  • Once again, stuning!! I love your videos especialy now that I don't have a bike, Looking forward to see the rest. I live in Queenstown, Otago, As soon as I get a bike, I'm going there mate!!!

  • epic terrain u got derrrrrrrrrrrr

  • This looks like it's going to be a fantastic movie. I have always wanted to ride any where in NZ.

600 GB of footage? This is going to take a while I think, but it will be worth it for sure.

  • Wow @ 2:00 amazing footage, great riding

  • Bloody hell fire ....... Ain't life with bikes the sweetest thing........

  • That trip looks absolutly stunning, scenery, good ride, rivers the lot. I am green with envy just by looking at it. Aboslutly top notch video. I can't wait to see the rest of the ride

  • @PhilippeKTM Hi Philippe, this is going to make you laugh... I took 600 gig of footage. You may remember our first six day adventure way back when when I took 4 gig of footage. The POV and GOPRO footage is fantastic. Now all I have to do is weave the thing together into a great story.

  • @edog200 How do you deal with the GOPRO footage? I have an HD one and because I can't/don't shoot external footage, find it a pain to locate the interesting bits in hours and hours of helmet cam footage.

  • @andrasikladi First thing go to the gopro website and read up in the support section. There is a program called MPEG Streamclip that is really easy to use that converts the files that allows for better editing with Macs. In that same program you can cut out the crap pretty quickly. The secret is to use POV footage sparingly.

  • @edog200 it's not really a tech issue, I used just to locate the bits and trim/export it with Quicktime. That part works, it's more about limiting it to the interesting bits and not having (enough, mostly none) external footage to spice it up with. Sparingly is the go...I just need to find a camera crew :D

  • @andrasikladi Get a Go pro Bac Pac, its an LCD screen that attaches to the back of the Go pro. You can then use it like a normal camera point and shot , as well as a pov. they also do a battery bac pac for extended use.

  • @Darren950 Yeah I agree with Darren. I've ordered one. Just going through some of the POV footage and I've missed some opportunities. It was $80 bucks I think in the US.

  • Looks amazing... first place on my list of places to ride thats out of australia. did you hire bikes there or ship some over?

  • @skipsmoto Bikes were hired. I had a KTM450 EXC 08 model in really good condition at $300 kiwi dollars per day. With the current exchange rate, and taking into consideration the country ridden, I felt that was a pretty good deal.

  • Stunning, one of the best riding videos I've seen. Makes me want to go back to NZ for more discovery. This should be funded by the tourism department there :)

  • Wow great video! Looks like a load of fun!

  • Epic riding terrain. Added to my wish list...!

  • the land of gondor?

  • @fmjiceman I think we rode through Gondor and I'm pretty sure that place where the Orks hung out. Anyway got lovely video of those places and will post in the future.

  • Lol, I kinda hate you for uploading these videos :P

I get soooo jelous of you, and you make me wanna go to australia/new zeeland with me bike :(

I trust you pay the trip? ;D

  • @morvorify I pay for the trip.

  • great camera work, looks like soooo much fun!

  • Man, You have it made! Always going on these several day trips with a bunch of guys, cruising the wilderness. Such fun that must be.

  • @DShinskey Well I'm coming to the end of my dirt bike career and I've worked hard...so my view is stuff it, you are a long time dead, you can't take it with you and your kids will only spend it anyway!

  • Peter Jackson eat yer heart out, Edog 200 "Lord of the Chainrings"

  • @Darren950 Thanks Darren. We actually rode through a couple of Lord of the Rings landscapes. They were as beautiful as they were on screen.

  • amazing kudos to u edog it one thing ride it and another to take the time to bring whats on offer to the masses luv ur work and hope u get the hits u deserve luv ur work

  • @storyremainsthesame It was a heap of effort. Firstly I carried a tripod on my back for the six days, as well as all camera gear, including a Canon Legria. In addition, after shooting I had to ride quick to overtake some of the riders to get in position for the next shot. But what made all the difference was the cooperation and thoughtfulness of the lead rider, Joe and Robbie, who sent myself and another guy, Sean, who also filmed with me up front.

  • @edog200 I think we managed not to interfere with the ride. The benefit for the riders on the trip is that they are going to get one great video to remember the ride by. Funny thing there is more effort once you get back and you have to sort out a story from the hours of footage. Oh well here goes!
