Yes she really has been to Syria. She studied Arabic for 2 semesters before going. Maybe she didn't stay long enough to understand the full picture; she lived there for two months. These were the, what you could call "first" impressions that she got.

If you meant that there were more restrictions in the dating world, then yeah I'll have to agree. It's not 'in the norm' for guys to openly date girls unless of course they are looking to marry the girl.. My parents dated before getting married (this was in the 70s) but then again, I'm not sure if it has to do with religion. Have you been outside Damascus? It's really quite different all over Syria - Damascus is the most conservative of all major cities, so perhaps you didn't experience it all?

Hi there. It was really interesting to watch your video on Syria. A couple of things I wanted to comment on. What you said about Syrian men and women not speaking to eachother - I'll have to disagree on that. I've never experienced or come across a situation where 'men don't speak to women'... The younger generation is quite open to that - girls can be friends with guys and that's no problem.

You still haven't told me what you disagree with exactly. I don't think Syria is uncivilized at all. Just socially different. Which comments are bad things? She said it was great to tour Syria and how wonderful your sites were. Do you disagree with the fact that people wouldn't talk to her because she was a woman?
