If the screen goes black and the music keeps playing it's either a problem with graphic plugins, OpenGL, D3D or similar, or the game partially freezes which could be caused by a lot of things, most likely by wrong settings or a really old machine.
How many frames per second is it running at? Also what are your settings in the emulator? I'm trying to get mine to work as close to perfect as possible. LOVE wind waker! thanks!
While in rooms/dungeons/ocean it's running 59 fps, it only slow downs when looking at a lot of different objects at once, for example: While you're looking at Windfall Island from the ocean, it goes down to 15-20 fps, but once you're in the middle of town it's back to ~50fps.
My settings are minimalistic. Filter is 1x, AA off, rendered to main window, native resolution and copy EFB to GL texture. Everything else is off. Basic and Advanced settings: Everything on.
Depends where you are. If you're on the open ocean it's top speed. If you're near an island it might get slower, because there is much more to process. But with a good processor that shouldn't be a problem at all.
I use to play this when I was... 5..6-ish,
God I really really miss that game. I still have the game cube, Going to buy the game online
