for a photography lens review you should never use the "ken burns" type video effects. Like the zoom in/out and pan effects for the photos. We want to see full frame and how wide/tight this lens can get.
i just bought VC model today for $649 minus $100 mail in rebate until Dec 31th. I have T2i with kit lens (canon EF-S 18-55mm AF IS F/3.5-5.6) and the difference in unbelievable. Background blurring, low light shoots, colors, sharpness everything is great! Only issue is too heavy compared to kit lens and AF is noisy. you get used to it though..
hi I am considering this lens for my Nikon d7000, but I am confused between the VC and Non-VC version, there is considerable price difference, is getting the VC version really worth the money ?
@akaashmodi go for the VC version if you can. For me personally, the extra $ is worth it because I shoot hand held a lot. If you shoot a lot using tripod, you might save the money and buy the non-VC instead.
