Thanks for putting this on. I heard a bird in the bushes at the back of the house- got a poor view of it but wasnt sure if blackcap, garden warbler or whitethroat. This confirms it was a whitethroat. Cheers!
@desperadoraj In the UK they are summer visitors arriving in May and being found in scrubby areas and hedgerows throughout the UK becoming scarcer further north. Drastic reduction in population has resulted in local disappearances. They winter South of the Sahara from Senegal and Ethiopia down to S. Africa. Declined by 50 - 100% in parts of W. & C. Europe in 1960's/70s esp around 1969 due to drought in the Sahel. 3 different races are recognised in Europe.
