  • @xmilosxthexbeatboxx In theory, yes, there is a technique called "knapping" where the knifemaker hits the blade with another stone until he has a sharp edge. To resharpen he could scrape it over a flat rock. In my case, the knife is only for display, I don't use it.

  • @MrDagon007 aaa okay than you, and you have understand my german? :D thats cool ^^

  • I started looking for something special after watching dadliest warrior-apache vs gladiator

  • That obsidian knife is beautiful. I'm sure it's expensive but even so I would be compelled to use it to eat a T-bone steak at least once if I owned it.

  • i know that obsiden knives are like the sharpest knife there is, but would it break easily on impact?

  • @98765432123456789000 Indeed, it's a kind of glass after all.

  • @MrDagon007 any knife will break if you use it wrong my people used obsidian

  • @98765432123456789000 even metal blade knives will breakuse all right rhey will last

  • @98765432123456789000 even metal blade knives will breakuse all right rhey will lastobsidien is sharp

  • It is amazing that sharpened steel still cant beat technology from thousands of years ago. That is a very beautifull knife.

  • I agree that is very beautiful

  • i collect obsidion knives. i have a 12 inche knife just counting the blade its massive

  • definitely a blade every collector should have............ very enjoyable vid

  • May i ask where you got your scramasax from i would love to have similiar to it

I may be willing to sell mine (unused, only for display), as I have too many knives and my computer faces an expenisve repair...

  • @MrDagon007 Shit Ill buy it

  • Absolutely Beautiful!!! Luv the knife

  • where did you buy that from

  • @erickr1980 Google for: obsidianarts

  • obsidian is so underrated... it's sharper than the highest grade scalpels! they are sharp even on microscopic levels! 3 nanometers across....

  • @CTmera It makes a poor weapon still when paired against steel, first of all, obsidan or steel, really dosent matter, both will cut human flesh BAD when sharpened, second you cannot use obsidan weapons for defense against steel weapons, they will chip and break in no time

  • "Ozzy" (the Ice man found a few years ago) had a similar knife. Truly beautiful tool, indeed. Best from Spain.

  • Obsidian as well as flint, chert and glass exhibit conchoidal fracturing. This gives them the characteristic flaking fractures that are so sharp.

I do believe a fascination for cutting tools was bread into mankind so many years ago.

  • Is obsidian brittle? If i tried to chop would or something with it, would it just shatter? Or would flint be a better option if i wanted to create a heavy use tool?

  • Obsidian is a volcanic glass - hence I wouldn't do heavy chopping with it, definitely not with the one in the video as it will certainly shatter. Flint on the other hand is a kind of stone structure, hence better suited for heavy use. All this in my not so educated opinion !

  • Thanks, im sure that obsidian would make a much better skinning knife though, due to its super sharp edge.

  • Yes, that is true - the edge of obsidian can be only a few molecules (in theory).

Different materials for different applications !

  • @MrDagon007 it can be 3 nanometers across

  • I MAKE THOSE KIND OF KNIVES

  • That is a work of art....who made that ??????I want one I want one I want one
