@MissGrandpa - Unlucky, we only stayed for two nights and had the choice of fish or lobster. That's enough of a selection for me : ) Tasted pretty good after sitting on the edge of a live volcano.
I stayed on Tanna for two weeks anchored off Port Resolution bay on a yacht. It was brilliant, the villagers were beautiful people. Mt Yasur was spectacular even though we had to wash the decks every day because of a centimetre of ash fell everyday.
The villagers are always more than happy to give lifts to the volcano by jeep and it cost around 2000vt per person. It's amazing. Go go go!
@scazzaaa Awesome place alright, where else can you sit on the crater's edge of an active volcano. Our trip to Tanna is an enduring memory, one of the most special places I've ever visited.
Hey thanks. 4 nights sounds great, we only stayed 2 at Whitegrass but wished it could have been longer. We were lucky to get to the volcano at all because we hadn't booked the trip (only the accommodation). Yes the kids were all at a school we stopped at on the way to Yasur, they chased us down the road throwing flowers through the windows. Have an awesome honeymoon.
Awesome video! We're thinking of staying 4nts on Tanna at White Grass resort at the start of our honeymoon, then back to main island for the last bit of our trip. Reckon that's a good idea, and is 4nts a good time to spend do you reckon bquax? Thanks for the vid - looks like a lot of fun...were all those kids etc en route to Yasur???
Hi bquax, can I pick your brains a second? I am thinking of travelling to Tanna during a tour of the Pacific rim with my grilfriend. Do you recommend Tanna, Vanuatu? How much did it cost from Port Vili to Tanna? Is Vanuatu expensive? Hope you dont mind me asking.
Hey freezefrog, I certainly recommend visiting Vanuatu and Tanna Island. Vanuatu in general is less tourist orientated than many other Pacific island nations, Fiji, Cooks, Tahiti, etc. with friendly locals & a very laid back culture. The Tanna trip was relatively pricey, there are limited flights, limited accommodation & tours once there. That said, it's a once in a lifetime opportunity, sitting on the crater edge of a live, active, exploding volcano - priceless... Best of luck on your trip.
Is that White Grass Resort? I stayed there for a while and went up and saw the volcano as well. Pretty cool.

@MissGrandpa . Yes, White Grass. Very cool place, love those meals after a hard day relaxing in the sun.

@bquax Really? When I went there we had the same fish of the day for 6 days and nothing else for dinner.
