  • Well "we" don't enact laws that prohibit foreigners from crossing borders. The government does that. There exists a very clear line of demarcation between the actions of a "we" (market processes) and the "we"(the government) which floats atop your premises.

  • There are some problems with your reasoning.

    Wages mean nothing if you do not compare them to prices of goods and services. A company that is able to achieve a higher output of good per input of cost(cost in terms of time/land/money... and in this case labor from illegals) will be able to charge a lower price. Competitive pressures will then tend to lower the price of similar goods. Consumers and businesses benefit.

    And to hold that wage earners and biz are in conflict is, well, pretty Marxist.

    Tyson foods replaced all its high wage American workers with illegals but the price of chicken stayed the same.

    Under your theory prices would have gone down and corporate profits would have increased gradually.
