@jephybean actually Taylor has a very solid fanbase which is what a lot of singers need, he is doing extremely well. The guy is always busy and always doing things and hasn't become a corporate sellout under swinish record labels. People need to start reading up on the people they are talking about otherwise sometimes you just look ridiculous. Not only is his popularity consistent but I don't hear much on Carrie anymore, barely anything and I am in the music industry.

Money does not equal success, nor does fame. If Taylor is successful in other areas, that's fine. But he's not successful in the industry, whether he's doing a lot of 'stuff' or not. Being from England i wa s abit slow to catch on to idol, season 5 was the 1st season I saw, and I lovedd Taylor loads, that was a really good year of a variety of unique, amazing voices.

I was thinking that exact same thing believe it or not. I watched this a long time ago and noticed that. He does look like George Cloony at 2:58.

That season was probably the best American Idol I have ever seen and in know way are they going to top that. It was so mixed with unique talent. Everybody was so unique and that is what really made this show. There was the modern vibe, oldies vibe, blues vibe, and classical vibe. The talent was really good that year.

Do you know why that is that you don't hear Taylor's songs on mainstream pop radio? Answer is very simple : The classic old tradition of "payola" something that record producing companies have been doing for ages and Clive Davis still shamefully does to this day is to promote heavily the artists they can control and who won't put up a fight about equal rights for the artists and shamefully produce commercialized pop. From all reports now coming out now, Davis paid the stations nationwide not to!
