  • If you really want to use this vest for combat, you need to wear a level 2A or level 2 vest underneath it. This will absorb all the blunt trauma.

  • You're an idiot... Put the vest on, weight yourself, then take it off, weight yourself. Subtract weight... Accurate vest weighing tactic...

    Dumbass.

  • just try to see if it will stop a 44 magnum

  • Big and floppy lmao

  • This PASGT vest was a hell of a funny joke. Why would any army be issuing hollow points for troops?

  • But to add to my first comment, this vest will protect you from lower velocity pistol rounds that are below 1500fps! In a SHTF scenario these vest's offer the user some protection against thugs and marauders if the thugs are armed with these type weapons described firing bullets at speeds I just described below 1500fps. High velocity rifle speeds will easily penetrate this PASGT vest. UNLESS..you put trauma plates with this system.Which I have plate inserts for 2 of my vests.

  • I have 3 of these vest all extra large and outstanding condition, I also have 2 German flaktarn vest's..I have been collecting military gear for over 20 years and being in the military I can tell you this vest is outstanding but very heavy! Rinse it off every few years with mean Green cleaner and water hose to keep dirt particles out of its pores. As a general rule super high velocity pistol rounds & rifle rounds can defeat this vest, rounds traveling above 1500fps which is the vests threshold.

  • PASGT vests have 13 layers of Kevlar-29. they can stop most pistol rounds. 9mm can penetrate up to 8 layers of Kevlar and .45 can only penetrate 1. but unless it absorbs enough blunt trauma it can still be fatal. once I shot a pasgt vest wrapped around a pumpkin with a 12 gauge slug. the slug failed to penetrate the ballistic panel, but it turned the vest inside out inside the pumpkin.

  • My dad gave me his, since he did serve in O.D.S.

  • does it come with the pro vesion?

  • I would of bougth it

  • i hate to burst ur bubble but that flak jacket for one is NOT kevlar. Also it will not stop a 44 Magnum or any caliber for that matter. That type of vest is for shrapnel only.

  • @8623456 Actually PASGT vest's protective panels are made of kevlar. These offer a protection level of around IIa at best, which is basically enough for shrapnel protection, but also has good chance of stopping most common handgun rounds. There's been videos and reported test made by people where they've shot this specific type flak vest with 9mm, .45acp, .357 magnum and 12ga buckshot for example. All these were stopped.

Still, Kevlar's weakness is that it gets weaker with age and bad treatment

  • just ordered one today :DDD

  • always wanted that vest!

  • Very nice jacket, if it is still for sale i would be intrested in purchasing it

    Email-mgraham1231@aol.com

  • actually it was designed for flak fire from German flak anti aircraft guns. I originally thought it was for grenades but actually is not. The word flak was derived from the name of the anti aircraft guns of the Germans.

  • stop a 44 ? shhiittt a 9mm or a .45 if your lucky

  • @dillonforemanm4a1

i saw a video of this kind of flak vest resist to a .44 mag soft jacketed hollow point

    but to a 5.7mm

  • @455cui their is strogger plates you can add to the vest to make it stop a 7.62 so yes it can with those specific plate..but this vest was not fully adopted by the military and the troops said the 7.62 resistant plates were to heavy to keep in the vest so they just keep the regular ones

  • the loops aren't molle webbing. they are for holding grenades

  • My dad was in the marines and I found the exact same vest when we were cleaning the attic out and I also found his helmet and 3 pairs of boots all if it was bought when he joined in 1992

  • Have you sold it yet?

How much do sell it for?

    Awesome video and nice vest.

  • Coachramsies that jacket will stop a .44 mag

  • so you get to keep your flak jacket when you in the army? if so SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • .44 magnum lol. wanna test it? I'll bring the gun.

  • are you interested in a otv vest?
