    sticky side down lads

  • I watch this whole thing on DVD and liked it a lot, I had no idea it was for charity... must have missed that part.

  • This one is the long way down,,from Scotland (UK) to South Africa! Usually it is aired on TV about 6 months after the DVD has been released!

The other journey is called the Long Way Round in which they travelled from London (UK) to New York via Europe, Russia and Alaska. This was brilliant to watch,,i am hoping the Long Way Down is gonna be just as good to watch!

  • Your Pathetic Using Your Past Too TRY *Note The Try* Too Support Your Point Get Real Corse Its For Real Did You Watch The Long Way Round You Stupid AssHole!

    xx

  • yes which is what the above is a clip of... So... whens it on TV??

  • i dont know when its on tv, but its not the the long way round because they done that a few years ago.

  • If you read what Ive put I never said it was the long way round. I KNOW its the long way DOWN. It was everyone else that was telling me it was 'round' and its on DVD

  • every sunday, 9:00 pm, BBC2

  • my dogs dead

  • in the land of giants ewan is king and my dogs dead

  • he is raising awareness for uniceff and everytime they stop at a large city they meet up with children from unicef ewan mcgregor does amazing charity work this trip has everything to do with charity, (aimed at innit27)

  • Wonder how much of his vast wealth he's given to charity?? - bit of a catch 22, pointlessly using up fossil fuels to make a TV show increasing global warming, making the African problem even worse??

  • Do you know how little motorbikes contribute to global warming? practicaly nothing compared to cars, they're 1 of the cleanest forms of transport

  • ewan mcgregor is a national tresure and a valuable asset to scotland i salute the man and the work he is doing for unicef all you on here dissing him are uneducated fools.

  • yea i agre ewens a great actor, hes gr8 in bhd, trainspotting, star wars etc.. etc.....

  • Says a lot for Scotland??

  • what exactly does it say for scotland?!

  • nothing its says ewan mcgregor likes motor bikes and supports a good cause

  • God I hate Ewan McGregor. Even when he's not at work, he's still...acting...

  • McGregor is as pleased with himself as always. Not bad for a mediocre actor.

  • Haha...nice!

  • I Think some people are thinking about a PREVIOUS trip they filmed ie. 'The Long Way Round'. These two are STILL on this trip and this is 'on the fly' footage of this 'downwards' trip. See the BBC link for current location etc.

There is no DVD for 'Long way Down' yet since its currently in production... as is the TV show!

To get an idea for it do an IMDB search for 'Long Way Round'!!

  • Ewan McGregor needs to drop his pants on screen, and on a weekly basis at least. It's for the good of the nation.

  • I like Ewan's....why, what are you offering?

  • Ewan doesn't try to seek fame its just a hobby he loves motorbikes he is more hidden from the cameras lets face it hes never is those now magazines and that is he? A lot of people enjoy this aswell as him he is providing it for the viewers and an amazing experience and being recognized for doing this tough trip is a benefit

  • This is not one of the good bits on the dvds at all. Most of the rest is, in fact, well worth watching.

  • This DVD is not even out yet, they are STILL on this trip!

  • thats a nice video.

im trying to lose weight and i post my progress on youtube.

    check out my channel.

  • What's Ewan McKnob moaning about the heat for?, does he not know what a desert is?.Come on Charley give him a slap..(you know you want to !)

  • Its not exactly an original concept. Celebs passing through dirt poor countries moaning about how hot it is. My god we even have ITV showing 3 z-list celebs going on a road trip on route 66 and trying to make out they are working their way on the trip, when you know they are getting a big fat fee for doing the show in the first place.

  • err...I thought that they do these things for charity organisations, and even if they don't this is way better than any other shite that the tax payers money is wasted on!!

  • The ride had nothing to do with charity. The two of them are mates and love motorbikes that's all. They brought out a book and the TV documentary off the back of it.

Lets face it if MacGregor wasn't a well known actor it wouldn't have been screened. There is too much celeb driven TV as it is. Its good that they went on such a trip, but I dont find them interesting or endearing travel narrators at all. In fact, they actually put me off watching what should be an interesting program.

  • Couldn't have put it better myself! I think Ewan McGregor is a self-appreciating arrogant tw*t, who was awful as Obi-Wan, worst bit of casting in the history of Cinema!! (I know it's not related but I can never say McGregor's name without saying something to that effect as well..lol)

  • Yep, must be really tough getting paid to motorcycle among poor people with full support crew at licence payers expense.

Pepsi is probably the worst thing you can drink in such heat as it dehydrates you further.

  • Soft drinks are easier to come by than clean water.

  • True, but bottled water is just as available now as soft drinks. Pepsi is still one of the worst soft drinks as full of caffeine. I'm sure they have loads of bottled water with them. Just makiing the point about dehydration.

  • Pepsi, coffee, tea, etc do not dehydrate you. They are all useful ways of rehydrating. Whilst caffeine has a mild diuretic effect, the net gain of fluid to the body is overwhemingly positive.

  • Is that for real? Don't really want to doubt you but I've always been told the exact opposite by a great number of people and would be really interested to know if this statement is true?

  • That's aimed @ avantgardener3 by the way lol...sorry

  • Yep. As long as it isn't salt water. That will kill you. You might still feel thirsty after a cup of coffee (etc), but you'll be considerably rehydrated.

  • I wish I could go there

  • If they're so hot, why are they wearing so many layers of clothes????

  • easier than carrying them i guess...

  • Riding on a motorbike you need to wear some protection. It also keeps the sand and dust out thrown up by other vehicles. Also if you are out in the baking sun for hours on end you need to be covered up. Bare flesh catching on the heated metal of the bike would not be pleasant either.
