  • Isaiah 45:22 and Luke 2:30

  • the name of this song is Barcarolle from Les Contes D'Hoffman

  • Such a lovely, uplifting film, I just love everything about it. Cherryberry360 is absolutely right, Roberto Benigni in English is just NOT Roberto Benigni.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF THE SONG PLZZZZ????

  • @carabinieri210 ...barcarolle.

  • @adrianaveliz I think?! jejejej

  • @carabinieri210 Barcarolle from Les Contes D'hoffman

  • I used to watch this movie with my cousin when i was little and he was studying italian in university! always loved it, such a beautiful movie! i would definitely watch it in italian with subtitles, as it is SUCH a gorgeous language and the actors are amazing! one of my favorite foreign films hands down <3 xxx

  • what is the name of this song?! I really love it ! :)

  • @jyp14 nuit d'amor Night of love in French

  • Bon giorno principessa!!

I LOVE this movie. Saw it in Italian first, later in English, both are great. The translation into English was beautiful. This scene makes me cry, and not just due to the story, but because it transports my thoughts to a time I haven't lived yet, where love, peace and happiness are infinite.

  • I've loved this opera duet since I saw it in the movie. It males me cry also (and I NEVER cry!). It's simply beautiful. Thank you so much for putting this up so we can enjoy it.

  • Trés beau film et très belle musique d'Offenbach, film à la fois drôle et émouvant...Benigni est splendide dans cette fable, bref un de ces films

qu'on ne se lassera pas de revoir.

  • How can you dislike this??! It brings tears to my eyes every time!

  • This is is one of my fave all time movie scenes. This opera is exceptionally beautiful even though I don't know what they're saying lol.

  • Absoultely Beautiful

  • This is a great movie, but the English voice-overs in this version kind of ruin it. I watched the version with subtitles two days ago, and since then, this song has been stuck in my head 24/7.

  • Thanks for putting the raped dubbed version of this clip up asshole.

  • @loflander000 I understand how you feel, however the dubbed version allowed me to show this wonderful film to my students, most of whom are poor readers. I also have a blind student for whom subtitles would be useless. I think Benigni has done a great job and I am pleased all the accents are not American. Thank you Roberto.

  • @loflander000 You are correct but the dubbed version allowed me to show this wonderful film to my students, many of whom are poor readers. I also have a blind student for whom the subtitles would be useless! I think the dubbing is great, as far as dubbing goes. The expression is there and the accents are not all American. A nice change. Thank Roberto!

  • Principeta!

"Belle nuit (Barcarolle)" or as "elcahtnegro" said Barcarolle from the opera Les Contes d'Hoffmann by Jacques Offenbach

  • my friend i'lll respond, because this is one of my favorite movies ever. The story takes place in two parts. Guido the charachter you see before you, is a Jewish man in love with "Princess". and he's going to get her no matter the obstacle. the music is by Offenbach, and the second half of the film,is him trying to save his sons innocence as they try to survive a Nazi Death Camp. watch it, its a lovely movie.

  • i have seen this movie. its one of my favorites. i meant, what was opera about?

  • could be an odd request here. but do you think you could upload an untranslated version of this scene? I can read and the italian makes it more beautiful

  • Barcarolle from the opera Les Contes d'Hoffmann by Jacques Offenbach

  • te canzone si chiama barcarolle

  • NEVER watch this movie dubbed in English when you could watch it in Italian with subtitles! The English does NOT do it justice, the Italian is so beautiful.

  • I agree and Disagree No one in my class watched because they did not understand and did not want to read the subtitles but your right about the Language is is Beautiful I want to watch it with the girl I Love, in it's original Audio So yeah I did like it in Italian. And I would most likely agree

  • @cherryberry360 i totally agree

  • non mi piace questo film in inglese e` meglio in italiano

  • whats this opera called?...does anyone know?

  • Isaiah 45:22 Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

  • nono mi spiace...in inglese perde una bella parte di valore...

  • è vero , è molto meglio in italiano e sono francese !!

  • man i love the whole movie but esp. this part! that lady beside him thinks he has the hots 4 her! also that part after the opera, he says "my princess, your cute little behind is showing!" awesome, i love it!!!!!

  • Excellent video,It brings to mind a verse of scripture,Isaiah 45:22;"Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God and there is none else. / I Timothy 3:16; "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness:God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, recieved up into glory.

Look unto Jesus alone, as he was lifted up as the serpent in the wilderness(John 3:14) Made a curse for us.

  • does somebody know what the song is called?

  • "Barcarolle", by Offenbach.. :)

  • i think Italian is more alike spanish than French

  • Italian, Spanish, French, Portuguese. They all stem from Latin. Italian is the more direct discendant of Latin. Standard Italian is resemble more Spanish than Franch. North-western italian dialects are more similar to French while Southern Dialect have a lot of common with Spanish because the Spaniard conquered Southern Italy in the past.

  • @issakita12 It is where do you think it came from.

  • they all descend from latin.

  • what is the name of this aria! i can't find it anywhere, someone please help.

i'm watching it right now on indiplex, amazing. absolutely amazing.

  • Barcarolle by Offenbach from the Tales of Hoffmann

  • thanks

  • One of a very few movies which bring a tear to my eye.

  • 1:51-2:05 tis black magic! he beith a witch! lol good movie

  • La lingua italiana è senza dubbio migliore, ma anche l'inglese non è così male...

Italian language is better, but english language isn't bad.

    BENIGNI RULES!!!!

  • this movie is soooooooooooo much better in Italian but i still love it no matter what.

  • yea it is. I dont know what it is about it but it just seems so much better in Italian.

  • i love this song, and this movie is fantastic

  • in italiano è molto meglio!!!

  • it's "barcarola"..

    a famous italian lyric song...:D

  • it's by offenbach

    belle nuit, la nuit d'amour

    and it's actually in french

(not to sound rude or anything)

  • does any one know what the name of this song is?

  • I just showed this to my college campus for a foreign film event. It's absolutely one of the best italian movies ever.

  • I didn't know they had dubbed this into English. I live in Ireland, but it was shown in Italian with subtitles. I prefer the original voice to be honest.

  • Me too. About the preference of the Italian with subtitles, I mean.

  • i agree, the italian language makes the movie even more masterful

  • Yeah, I agree.

  • I've seen it both ways, and although it's flawed, probably one of the best English-dubbed jobs ever. Touching and unforgettable either way!

  • When Guido was killed..I cried so hard..

  • this movie was the best 1 ive seen in my life, saddest too it makes me cry, and witnesses there was love

  • The only way to top this scene was to play it in the concentration camp.

  • The opera is called Les Contes d'Hoffmann (The Tales of Hoffman) and you liked Act II (Barcarolle)

  • What is the song called! I just love it!

  • Does anyone has the scene when they play again this song for his wife?

  • yes, he plays it at the concentration camp..

  • The Spaniards come close! XD

  • i don't remember any scene which both has such emotional and funny things together...
