Only one audio output which is digital so it's impossible to connect the sound out to a legacy stereo system. Viera owners really got boned, as Viera link isn't even compatible with any 5.1 or 7.1 AV systems. Great engineering and customer support Panasonic.
I swear, I have NEVER been able to wrap it around my head why people make this big funk over energy consumption regarding television sets...
If a household can afford one of these 50" or 60" baby's, why the HELL would a 25% increase in their electricity bill be the reason that they are struggling for a bowl of cereal in the morning?
God, Americans truly are the most conformist bunch of folk in the world...
I promise you, using your washing machine/dryer or dishwasher for half loads, or using your microwave to heat every little morsel of food you ingest, or running your shower even 5 degrees too hot, or preheating your oven longer than required before placing the food item inside, or keeping your front door agape at wintertime 5 longer than needed.... All these things and a million other little things we do everyday will raise your electricity bill more than any tv ever could...
quick question! I just bought this TV, and I noticed that when I turn it on it clicks 2-3 times. As opposed to my other lcd tv which only clicks once. I know sounds crazy paranoid, but I just want to make sure it's normal. Is that like a plasma thing? or should I be concerned?
@SuperAnimalGuy they dont sell them anymore, i got mine back last year on black friday, they sold out and apparently it was a one time sell, now walmart doesnt even have it no more
720p is not a normal show. It is HD, just not as many lines of resolution as the 1080p. Enhanced tv is 480p standard tv is 480i. the only way to get 1080p is blu ray. Satelite and cable companies all braodcast in 720p. No 1080p yet. the human eye will usually not be able to even tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. 1080p tv's actually have to compress a 720p broadcast so you get a loss in image quality. 720 is the way to go for everything but Blu-ray. !
Virtually no difference unless you are 2 ft away from it. And Dont Buy Anything unless its a Panny. They have 100,000 hour panel life, compared to 60,000 on all other manufacturers.
im getting a 50 inch plasma Panasonic TV tomorrow for my living room i told my mom lets go to sears and there we go we found it lol yes cant w8 ps3 all the way and in my room my xbox stays on my samsung
philips is way better than panasonic whatever u go, plus dont get plasma no er what brand it is, get lcd or led, philips have one of the best tv out there the philips aurea, thens the sony viera then thesony bravia then the toshiba regza and then the sharp aquos, i workk with electronics and a lot of people like samsung but samsung dont last, they have good quality image same as sony which use samsung displays, get lg instead of samsung , lg use philips display, philips or panasoni, go philips.
lol...everyone knowledgeable know that plasma produces the best picture....hence why the number one tv is the pioneer kuro...fallowed by the panny v10 and g10 series....then LCDs fall in to place
Ok i have a 50 inch panasonic veirra plasma it is rated at 720p on the box but it can go to around 1080p apparently is that true? I also have been hesitant to play my 360 on it because of image retention/burn in should i be worried? My t.v has a game mode..is that ok to use for games?
Panasonic is a excellent brand. I've pledged my allegiance to them, both my tv and home theater system are Panny. Even my car head unit is Panasonic. Nothing beats them for the price. I bought a Viera Plasma last year and haven't looked back, nothing compares.
Um no you cant get 1080p lol, yes your tv will down convert any feed including 1080p ps3 from hdmi automatic. This is 720p set and older version px80s which i love for money!! Panny 720p plasma is art, even sammys plasma isnt up to this picture.
The biggest difference is that the TH-50PE8U is a 1024 x 768, which is if you do the math, a 4x3 screen stretched to 16x9, in other words, a lower quality plasma.
Also, we don't have bestbuy what ever that is it's called.
I got that information from a Panasonic sales rep.
I did manage to confirm this with by calling Panasonic directly, the reason I checked was, I wanted to know why it was cheaper than the The TH-50PX75U despite almost identical specs, and this was the reason Panasonic gave me.
Love my 42 panny 720p!!!! Just get your cheap antenna hooked up and bam instant hd picture on 6 local channels!!!!! No thinking just hook it up yo. Plasma is the chit
Help: My dad's probably purchasing a very similar Panasonic tv. If you've bought this tv, do you think we should buy an extended warranty? Also have you had any problems with this tv (or a similiar Panasonic plasma with a similar model number). Thanks
how do you get your 360 in HD mode with this i have it hooked up but not with the HD inputs the red yellow and white cables i can't put the hd 1's (help)
i just got one of thease and going from a 32 inch tube its amazing first time ive seen high def and wow..... nice although im not thrilled buy regular channels with it but still big .now we just need more hd programing :o)

This is exactly like the Panasonic 50-inch TH-50PE8U.
xxslimjimtightxx 3 years ago
Sorry, not even close.
The biggest difference is that the TH-50PE8U is a 1024 x 768, which is if you do the math, a 4x3 screen stretched to 16x9, in other words, a lower quality plasma.
Diemerstein 3 years ago
stupid, all 42 inch 720p plasmas have the same # of pixels. Idiot.
k9feces 2 years ago
The stupid person is you, apparently math isn't you strong point.
TH-50PE8U is a 1024 x 768 which is 786432 pixels.
The TH-50PX75U also a 720p TV has a 1366x768 resolution which is 1049088 pixels.
Maybe you should have stayed in school instead of dropping out in 2nd grade.
Next time, do some research before making an ass out of your self!!!
