God i miss the Winch soo much only done it twice, but it was so long ago, did it in the Air Cadets during Air Experience flights, when i finnaly did my scholarship did it in the Grob 109b :( powered glider
How many different gliders do you have based there? How many different pilots fly there over the course of a year? Again, cool video. I have done a tail cam but not this view.
The launch shown reached about 2300ft, in a K21 flown solo into a 5 knot headwind. We normally load about 1500 metres of cable onto each winch drum, but the normal winch run is about 1200 metres or approx 4000ft.
It looks like you rotate dangelously fast

I make it about a one second safety climb and a 4 second rotation to the full climb angle, which is fine for a powerful winch.

The rear view gives a good impression of just how steep the launch is. Awesome!!

Fantastic perspective! Amazing the number of glider trailers you have there at :32! I have never seen so many in one place. Really good job.

I believe about 140 gliders. We have about 700 members + visitors.

That's a great view indeed !
How high can you get with those winch ?
It may just be the camera wide view angle but it looks higher than what we actually get with ours.
Do you know the length of the wire ?
