JB, do you think that the corporation tax will be safe in the next budget (November) or will Ireland be pressurised by our EU counterparts to raise it?
This statement in the Irish Independent today was thought provoking.
'It is hard to overstate the gravity of the situation which now confronts the sovereign Irish state. This isn't as bad as the economic downturns of the 1930s, 1950s and 1980s, it's potentially worse than all three combined.'

Stalling on three bi-elections (one of them up to eighteen months) is, I think, a very serious failure on the part of the Irish government and undemocratic. Reeks. It would not happen in UK.
For me it is quite simple. We just default. The German and British banks made a massive miscalculation when the decided to loan money to Ireland.
The Irish people are not responsible for this miscalculation, and our government is foolish to let them off. The bond holders in Anglo can't believe their luck that the foolish Irish will bankrupt themselves to square them up.
Iceland defaulted and it has now got lower borrowing rates than Ireland.
@Acrobat747 I would love to believe that our government could initiate such a move. However - It will not happen. As you say Iceland did a technical default & we should immediately do the same . Our repayments should be linked directly to an increase in our overall GNP . No increase - no repayments . So its in everyone's interest that our GNP grows. That's too simple for our government . Appreciate the input. Thanks. jb.
I also find it strange that Bill Clinton has been visiting the North again just as the muck is hitting the fan in Ireland. And at the same time we have a delegation going to the Vatican. Some people may not connect any dots here and some may?

I would think that any agent of the central banks would have to be bullet-proof. Or would the Irishmen just soak up another pint and shrug it off?
YOU don't owe any German banksters one single penny! More importantly, the unprecedented level of the crime that has been perpetrated against the Irish people--and every other People that has had the misfortune to encounter this new breed of super criminal--requires nothing less than the death penalty, for if these acts of criminals are not crimes against humanity--just as dispicable as the Nazi's in WWII--then there are none. airports are being sold in Greece. The Greek gov is proposing a plan where people's transactions will only be allowed by a new bar code electronic card linked to user profile/database, reduce cash.
These actions reinforce the black market., as money will go into hiding, as always. They are seeking money(there is not) to pay the interest on the debt, they do not indent to ever pay off. Similar to the Gold tax(over 600$ must be reported) they will track transactions and data, and then invent a law to criminalize. It's just getting out of control.
@CuriousTOknow1 This is in action in Spain. All utilities and bill have to be paid like a standing order at 12 noon when the bill comes due,if the money is not there, they turn you off that day. What follows is draconian.

You raise some interesting points.
As this economic crisis deepens it will in turn create serious
political & social problems . In some countries these
tensions or contradictions will tear society apart - not just
literally. We face into extraordinary times.
These elitists view small states such as Ireland as irrelevant
playthings - to be used & manipulated as if part of a giant chessboard.
As a tiny sovereign nation - we can not even adequately defend ourselves .

I believe I am not missing any point.
Ist. Ireland is involved in Capitalism. The Capitalist order
is run by a tiny elite who own the vast majority of the wealth of
society . In the USA the top 10% own 83% of the total wealth .
Of that total wealth 11% is paper money - the remaining 89%
is electronic or digital money . I appreciate that ' de jure '
none of it really has any value & that it is created by Central Banks
as ' DEBT ' . However we are in the GAME & that GAME is REAL
jbyeats 1 year ago
@door32
2. If you don't play the game by their rules - then your country
has a 'Coup' within it or It is invaded by a bigger country etc . etc.
All this economic stuff is deadly serious .
You step outside of their game - you better hold on tight to your
political testicles .
I would love to think the people of Ireland don't owe any money
to anyone . Just as I would love to believe - I don't owe a small
amount to my bank to run my little business .

3.
If I try that business personally , I am looking at a large court fine & then prison .
If my little country wants to go down that route --- It will be looking at
virtual penury with a possible invasion , coup d'etat or civil war thrown in.
These elitists are NOT ALTARBOYS --- THEY ARE RUTHLESS IN THE EXTREME .
The People of Ireland indeed , do not owe anyone a penny .
Our present government has decided however that we do.
That is our reality. Many thanks. jb.

crisis - but the vast majority are all in a state of denial .
They remind me of drunks staggering around after the party is over ....
they believe the party is still going on .
' THE PARTY IS OVER '
Appreciate your support . Many thanks. jb.

airports are being sold in Greece. The Greek gov is proposing a plan where people's transactions will only be allowed by a new bar code electronic card linked to user profile/database, reduce cash.

The Greeks obviously have a huge ' black market ' .
All governments fear a black market , especially in times of deep economic crisis -
as they can't tax it . So they have to try by all means to stamp it out.
As our crisis deepens in Ireland we will see the emergence of our own
' black market ' It existed in Ireland in the 1980s on a large scale .
The IMF & EU mandarins are in Greece raping & pillaging .
Their next call will be Ireland. Thanks. jb.

Obtaining cash in Spain is a nightmare.Even paltry sums are denied as it was in Argentina.
