The man playing glasses with Gilmour DON'T know the chords of "shine on.." during soudncheck.

and takes 1 minute to understand Gilmour want the 9th (A on Gm chord) even David play the note and the man looks for during 1 minute lol.

Not very pro, or maybe not a musician.

i dunno, without knowing the backstory, it's hard to say. He's there for a reason and clearly doesn't seemed to have played with the band before. He clearly can play the glasses...I certainly couldn't. That he picked up what was needed for the song in a few minutes may indicate how good he is. Gilmore seemed happy enough.

@uan2001 There's a video in the bonus features on the Live at Gdansk DVD (or it might be Remember That Night) of David and Polly walking around the streets of Venice and they hear this guy playing in the streets. David and Polly have a quick conversation about how they played wine glasses at the start of Shine On on the album and she suggested they get this guy up to play.
