  • »»───(knee)───►

  • Knee replacement

    For adventurers

  • I hope its arrowproof..

  • @seva809 LMAO times 2

  • whos here to post arrow in the knee jokes?

  • @jaxv94 me, lol

  • Once this is done will the person be able to do everything he once was able to do or will this cause the person to give something up. Like a sport or lifting weights?

  • i used to have surgery like this done on me, but then i took another arrow to the knee...

  • @UtubeH8tr predictable comment

  • @EntrailSaunders

    it's sad i know...

  • @UtubeH8tr I used to take arrows to the knee like that, but then I took surgery.

  • REMOTE CONTROL SEKONDA DIAMOND FLUG EVEREST

  • Does anyone knows around how much does this operation cost?

  • Hell yeah!!! This is why I wanna be an orthopedist.

  • My wife goes it to hospital tomorrow, she is busting to get the operation done, wants to get her life back on track. The she needs to get the other knee done ASAP so her hips don't go.My neighbour across the road had it done a few months ago he use the Circulation Booster as seen on TV, to get himself going quickly,he was up on the roof after 3 weeks fixing his TV antenna,of cause I went crook at him,but he said he was ok with it.

  • with one of these would it be possible to do intensive sports an activities like triathlons stuff that involves extreme endurance or are you limited to light use

  • @errolJF The knee replacement for an active to athletic patient is called a Mobile Bearing or rotating hinge knee. Zimmer and Depuy are the most popular

  • My mother had this done and she said it was the most painful thing she has ever gone through.

She's had 6 kids. Had 2 hip replacements and shattered her elbow.

  • FUCK CATHETERS most painful shit, rather just piss on the bed like a baby.

  • @Satanic1992 i agree

  • its amazing what humanity can do :)

  • perfect, thank you very much; it's very detailed with the best presentation. loved it.

  • Getting this done next week. Just a little apprehensive. Want to be able to show my dogs again without pain. I'm only 45.

  • Does any one knows how much a knee surgery cost about?

  • Lol - "Sample Use Only" sounds like without it there might be some backyard doctors out there watching this to figure out what to do after they scrub up.

  • Knee replacement is a perfect solution of knee pain and several knee problems. Its quite common right now, permanent solution to get rid of those problems. Thanks for the video.

  • I'm 21 yrs old and play basketball. my knee cracks every step i take when i walk, but when i run its perfectly normal. can anyone tell me what this is?

  • @marvelousmarv89

I don't know if you have the same thing i do but I have the same problem. My doctor told me it was because my knee's off place and pops in and out of the rail as i walk so maybe that's it.

  • @Mrwassabee is there a way to get it back into place?

  • @marvelousmarv89 That i don't know yet, but i'm guessing there probably is. You would have to check with a doctor

  • @marvelousmarv89 Im no doctor, but this to me sounds like a slight mis-alignment. Your age is only 21 years, and I would attribute any kind of a-symmetry to a growth spurt. While we are growing things aren't as likely to all be in perfect proportion, bones especially. Be aware of any pain, particularily severe, there shouldn't be and this could signal a problem. Growing has much to do with metabolism so eat enough healthy calories to support these rapid changes. You're probly growing

  • @Marcuslusus02 thank you for your answer.. is the a way to re-align it?

  • @marvelousmarv89

Hi there. Found a couple of websites which state that muscle strengthening "may" help with knee popping. Have a read through. Hope your knee gets back to shape.

  • hmm don't understand why I can't upload the links to the web pages

  • @marvelousmarv89

    floota.com/vastus_medialis_and_knee_popping.html

Thats the web name. Remember to add w w w infront of it.

    Hope that helps

  • i was wondering if it would be able to replace the patella ?

  • great animation ,keep up!!!

  • would like to know how old are these people who have had the knee replacement and has anyone had a partical knee replacement

  • Please can you help me? My mother want to get her knee replaced. Her knee is very hurt. But we don't know where we should access. I want to know how much it is. We live in Mongolia.

I hope that you'll response soon. I'm waiting you :-)

  • it's a pretty good vidieo. maybe a little old. i had a total replacement in sept. it still hurts but is getting better everyday. i was up walking the afternoon of the operation with a walker and 2 nurces. you will be put on a cmp machine that will work the knee joint for 2 to 6 hours a day you will be using it for the mext 6 weeks or so. if you are going to have a knee replaceed keep up with your pain meds and do your exercises.

  • Is it water on the knee? OPERATION!

  • thanks

  • My gradfather had this surgery done yesterday on his left knee and 10 years ago on his right knee.

  • i like theese videos bcause they explain and make it sound like a walk in the park although i dont like the thought of my knee being cut open

  • My mother will be going for this surgery soon. This video is most helpful for me to understand what happens in the op room. thanks.

    -long time sub ;)

  • is it normal for vomiting to occur a few days after surgery

  • i'm 22, did x-ray recently my doc told me nothing was wrong, but my knee gets inflammation all over, pain all over, sometimes clicking noise and pain coming near ACL section. Am I developing bone on bone, and do I need MRI.

  • @tldevilsh yes you do becuase if you dont get an accurate search then it will continue to worsen. when i dislocated my knee they did an MRI; they found couple problems when they relocated my knee and i am soon to get a knee replace ment or not. ( im not sure about the replacemennt)

  • well all be damned. I just helped make some molds for the femoral portion of replacement knees. Its cool to see how something I made is put to use. Glad to see our work really makes a difference in peoples lives.

  • Thank you very much for posting this, having my knee operated on for the 2nd time in less than a year on Aug 12th right knee is just as bad and a knee replacement is definately not out of reach

  • What about the outside temperature because of the steel? Feels ure knee colder in the shadow, gets it hot in the sun?

  • 5 people were too drunk to hit the like button.

  • Soon I'll be having this surgery and sorry for the expression but I'm scared as shit!! Will I be able to walk normally after the surgery? Will I be riding horses ever again? How long did the recovery take? I'm terrified because I'm only 19 years old athetic person and I'm afraid I can't even walk afterwards. I have whole life ahead of me and soon I'll be handycapped.

  • @Bermufa Hello...DJ...UK.....It is a shame that you are so young to need this work done....However ..you will not be handicapped..do not worry..I had a knee replaced.. one month ago..I am now off crutches and can do jobs around the house and garden...After the Op. it is vital to excercise and get the joint working..it is hard at first..but time will improve,,I am 64 .I am ok. but cannot imagine 'me' doing any 'hard' sports or running around. Maybe you will, My joint pain has gone. good luck.DJ.

  • @Bermufa I feel for you but i assure you that all will be fine like you said your 19 years old which believe it or not is excellent because your young and your body can heal considerably faster. Best of luck to you i'm also having my surgery done this week

  • @Bermufa. If you don't mind me asking, why do you need a knee replacement? You are so young. Most of the time the patients are older who need such replacements. We usually try our best to do all we can to delay the need for this especially in younger people bc they generally are more active and will wear the prosthetic knee out quicker which means more surgeries. riding horses shouldn't be a problem. It is weight bearing activities/sports that will wear these out.

  • oyur tonsil video was realley halpful for me when i had my tonsils was taken out

    thank you

  • This is kind of a dumb question I guess, but does knee replacement surgery make you taller?

  • @thtktgrl: The prosthesis may actually make you taller or shorter. In a high percentage of cases, there is only a .5-3 mm. increase or decrease in limb length. So nothing drastic; usually unnoticeable. However, in Hip replacements I have had patients who exhibit a decrease in limb length and need a shoe insert orthotic to even out their stance so that they are not lop-sided.

  • im 18 and i had 1 of those its pretty intense

  • w8 what's the drain for? what "excess fluid" does she refer to? xD

  • Good

  • I wonder though,is it possible to still go to the gym after this kind of surgery, like can you do powerlifting ever again.

  • @Henzzman

No I don't think so, this surgery is usually done on old people over 55. The device needs to be replaced after 15 years or so becuase it wears out.

  • To photo986 my mother has a really bad a knee arthritis and she is over weight being diabetic thats a no no but I tell you she uses for the rest of her life a knee brace with metal swing on eachside of the knee with belcro .. also to help the PAIN . she buys a liquid called (SOPT PAIN) and you can get it at walmart or walgreens...and it does help 99 % I hope it works for you...

  • I miss running

  • I have a question, for 6 months now when i go up the stairs my left knee hurts and makes a clicking sound with each step. When i run it doesn't hurt, only when i stop or run full speed, it hurts and feels like it can't support me. Also when i bend down to tie my shoe it hurts. My xray's came out fine but it still hurts.

Would i need a knee replacement and will that prevent me from joining the marines?

  • Sounds kind of like a torn meniscus???>?

  • @Wnyblazingkid you should get an MRI to see if you have any torn ligaments or anything....

  • @Wnyblazingkid I suspect you have a problem with both the posterior and anterior cruciate ligaments in your knee. Get it checked out!

  • @Wnyblazingkid Yes, it can be a torn meniscus.

I've had a meniscus repair about 4 weeks ago. And I had this clickin noise everytime I bent them

Anyways, I REALLY DON'T THINK YOU NEED THIS... NO NO!

  • Do i have to do knee operation?

  • The video is pretty informative but I would like to see more details. I had bilateral replacement surgery three years ago it was the best thing I invested in. It took me six months to go back to work. But now I'm back doing electrical work climbing ladders, kneeling, walking to the point I get tired not sore. It was as if I never had any problems.

  • @NicolieOliePolie that is awesome :)

  • @NicolieOliePolie

I ahve ahd bilateral knee replacement and am 73 yrs.old. 3months ago. I have continuous pain while healing. I see it took you 6 months to go back to work. Did you also have a hard time healing?? I find I have to lie down in between doing things at home. thanks for your response.

  • CAN I LIFT WEIGHT WITH THOSE ?

  • My surgeon told me I need a full knee replacement. I have a Dizzy and balance problem and not sure I want to have it done. I don't want to risk falling and breaking my hip. Any suggestions from anyone thanks

  • Get the book "Pain Free" By Pete Egoscue. He has a 95% success rate fixing any type of joint paint in the body. Check amazon

TRY IT WAY before you get surgery. You need to do the exercises every day -- good luck!

  • Thanks Aheyne for the info. I also have a Dizzy problem and I am concerned that after I have knee replacement I might fall and break a Hip

  • the girl who speaks is like the

woman who is talking while riding

the automated train at black mesa - half life

    lol

  • its better lookin then the eye surgery thing

  • OMG my father had this done in both his legs. I'm glad I finally get to have a fuller understanding of what was done. Thank you

  • After surgery was over ,I was transferred to another hospital of my choice of three on my list. There was no follow-up by the social worker . I was placed in a hospital bed in a wrong wing for "Stroke Patients" instead of Othopediic and was treated as such as a stroke instead . My recovery worsened as a result . I wasn't ablt to get up out of bed and walk as I was supposed to etc. .There only interest was clearing my bladder at midnite. To this day- I am still suffering nothing going right my way

  • doido d+++ os videos....

  • My husband is having this done on Friday. He can't wait for the terrible knee pain to be all gone. This video was really helpful to him, thank you.

  • @berrimfs Where do you live?

  • @osgeek

I live in Berri south Australia seeing the specilist next month to see how much longer of a wait and how much worse it has gotten

  • I had this done on January 15, 2009. It is now May 6, and I am completely healed, I walk without pain, and I have full range of motion. They claim the prosthetic will last 25 years. It was an ordeal, but worth it?? YES! It hurt every step I took before.

  • Congrats on your surgery! Glad it went so well. From what I hear, most patients that undergo a TKR have great results.

  • @leotoydog hi ...thank u for ur comment ..plz can u tell me if ur motion is limited?

i mean can u set like frog ?..and run ? becuase i want to make it 4 my mother and i need full ifo about it >>>thanks

  • Oh god! i'm glad my knees work fine!

  • i cant believe it.... i don't know that... should i see it or not...xp

  • I had DOUBLE - TOTAL - Knee replacements done I think it was 5 days apart ... This was about 3 years ago in March ... GOD !!! I can't believe I forgot ANY of the details ... It was a nightmare, and the MOST difficult surgery I will or would EVER have done !!! Would I do it again ??? YES ... for then, but NOW ???

  • The replacements I had were only supposed to last for 15 years ... so I would be about 67 when it is time to do it again ... I honestly CAN'T say if I would or COULD go through it all again emotionally, never mind physically ... I had a FABULOUS doctor and it's an awesome and long story, but he did this surgery for me for FREEEEEE, but do it AGAIN ????????????? NOOOOO .... :(

  • I think that happened to my friend, cause he has a cast on his knee cause his dad accidentally opened his house's front door and whacked my friends knee, hard

loll this shouldnt be the place to ask that question!! LOL : P

but im sorry bout that. feel better

  • From what material is the new knee made of?..and with what fluid is it lubrifiated? Sinovial fluid is realy neccesary as lubrifiant in an anatomic articulation.

  • Nice 3d medical animation showing total knee replacement!

  • this is a great medical animation- makes me want to be nicer to my joints
