Vanilla was 'challenging' in a lot of cases because people just didn't know shit about the game. There were no resources like EJ or Rawr and those that did exist were either secretive or flawed. There was none of the cooperative theorizing that you see a lot of now, and on top of that, their raid design team was still comparatively inelegant and unrefined.
Things are considerably more complex and challenging now at the high end, but bottom-scrapers never see that and thus don't understand.

The only difference is they share it more openly nowadays, top guilds like the one in the video you're watching was full of players who knew exactly what they were doing and how the game worked and they are the same people saying vanilla was more challenging than wrath.

First saw this vid back when Naxx 40 was endgame content. Classic gaming there. The reason "vanilla WoW" was good was because it WAS challenging to get to these places. Drops MEANT something. Now if you play long enough anyone can have a high "gear score" and put together a pick up group raid for endgame content. They've increased accessibility for their users at the cost of challenging content and guild community. DnT was one of the great guilds and it will be missed.

I play an 80 drood on this server anyone know what happened to death and taxes they just vanished? They were the best on the server until GC had the first KJ down from what i hear.
People seem to keep complaining that raids are easy now and it takes no effort to see them. I've gotten tired of this after awile, and wish people would remember that having to dedicate all your time to a game is BAD. Raiding is the part of WoW that blizz works the hardest on, its the center of the GAME, and if the average player of the GAME cant have the most fun playing the GAME, then whats the point of getting it? 25man Raids are allmost as intense as 40mans anyways, changing is just hard.
I raided Hyjal, BT, and Sunwell before all nerfs. To be serious, Hyjal and BT WERE a joke, getting into them was not(pre 2.4). Sunwell WAS NOT a joke, well... at least not Mu'ru and KJ.

Someone touched a skeleton, if you touch a skeleton it does massive damage to the whole raid. You stand in the middle of the arena and you kill the skeletons and banshee with range dps so no one touches them. You kill the big guys with melee dps cause the big guys suck. Thats the first phase that is 5 minutes long. Next phase you is MCs almost everytime the main tank gets mc'd, frostbolts that do 4k damage need be interrupted. A death and decay move that a circle auto one shoots you.
Then he has another move where he puts a bomb on a mana player and that player most run out or blow up people draining all mana I believe. Then for the bread and butter which all my wipe have been for, he does a ice prison where it does 100% damage over I think 5 or so seconds player can't move. The player that gets targeted with any player thats like 15 yards away get inprisoned too. If it hits your melee your melee just gg'd and your maintank is probally dead too. I hope this clear stuff up.
this is one of the joys they got for being one of the best guilds back then... walking on a boss and you have ABSOLUTELY no idea what the hell is gonna happen.
i think that they really need to bring back 40 man raids now that all the old 40 man raids are easy as long as ppl have new gear. they need to make a challenge that takes a while for people to beat.
i wish they would bring 40 man raids back, i hate the fact that they are making the game easier then making it harder. the expansion will feuture 25 man raids but you can also make a 10 man raid to raid the 25 man raid and beat it but get crappier gear... why cant they do that with 40 man!!

i dont think anyone will miss kara, because everyone and their mothers has been there. MC had an attunement, and actually required more than 30 people to raid and cooperate, something that was kinda rare back then. Kara is a 10-man that has no more attunement and is easy as hell.

rofl...its true T3 is now obsolete now that BC came out, its only good for lvling and maybe doing the first 3 bosses in karazhan but after that OBSOLETE! Plus pieces of T5 have been acquired by Nihilum and other guilds alrdy, plus YES there are lvl 65 blues better than T3...T3 isnt too great, seeing as u get 2 pieces of T4 in the first lvl 70 instance...

World of warcraft ruins lives. don't let your friends or children play it. Hell i should include adults as well because my mother is hooked and i cant get her to stop. I even deleted it from her computer 2x and destroyed the disks but the following month when i visited again she was playing it. doesn't even make time for family get togethers. sad really. i blame BLIZZZARD! screw warcraft

Hey, sucks for you kid, but guess what? It's their choice to let World of Warcraft get in the way. Maybe she uses WoW as an excape from RL like a lot of people do. I play WoW, but I don't let it interfere with my school work or family and friends. It's all about your personal decisions, and if you tend to make bad ones, it's not WoW's falt, it's theirs.

Hmm...good times. Sadly, only 3% of the entire wow player base entered into Naxxaramas, but even though TBC is now out Naxxaramas gear provided a good start for the initial lvl70 raid instances. One thing blizz did right (holy shit)

Well I am not sure if they disbanded or not, but they obviously reformed since Nihilum got the world fist Vashj kill (as well as others post tbc).

the fun thing is that Nihilum made the exact same thing 3 times before we learned thet we should just send someone whit SS in:) (i was in their Saphiron kill raid, but was sick the day they killed killed kel´thuzad, and they kikced me couse i didnt level fast enough in BC

well, it is true, since the expansion, there have been way better gear than T3...its NOT as good as lvl 90 gear, whoever said that is the biggest noob...Nihilum has alrdy gotten pieces of T5 from Serpentshrine cavern!! so yea T3 is only good for clearing like the first 3 bosses in karazhan rofl, seeing as u can get T4 from the first lvl 70 raid instance...

rofl...its true T3 is now obsolete now that BC came out, its only good for lvling and maybe doing the first 3 bosses in karazhan but after that OBSOLETE! Plus pieces of T5 have been acquired by Nihilum and other guilds alrdy, plus YES there are lvl 65 blues better than T3...T3 isnt too great, seeing as u get 2 pieces of T4 in the first lvl 70 instance...
