She said "What?!" at the end because one of her friends back stage told her that people were standing up, applauding her for her performance. She was shocked that big country music stars and important people were standing up for her. When you're on stage, all the lights blind you if your eyes look out on the audience.

But this version, with the simple string section & her playing the piano, gives this song a haunting undertone to it. Maybe it's just me.

i thought she did a good job. she usually seems to get so nervous at these big events, and it shows in her performances. this one was one of her better ones. and she definitely was not lip syncing here. she made a few small but noticeable mistakes in the beginning with some of her breaths, and that sort of thing would not be on a track she would lip sync to. and i loved her dress :)

But she doesn't lip sync everything, personally though, even though I love her, I don't think her live vocals are that impressive.
