  • I'm happy you guys rescued these birds

  • Fucking skanky whore. I wonder why trashy people always have a need to breed something. If it's not dogs or cats it's birds apparently. And of course they always like to breed themselves too. Fucking trash.

  • What sickens me more is that North American Business Bureau will give out any kind of license just about to anyone...good enough to make a buck Well, they certainly aren't paying enough taxes when, you have to ask the public to pay up to rescue them. Why aren't there stricter laws for BREEDERS. Where are the inspection officers? If North America wants to make monies, then hire these Inspectors to provide the most humane treatments that Breeders claim to be providing.

  • For those saying the birds don't look emaciated, birds don't show emaciation like other animals because of their feathers. An emaciated bird does not show bones sticking out as the feathers hide them. When you pick them up you can feel the keel bone sticking up but until then, unless you are a specialist such as a vet, you would not be able to tell a bird is malnourished just by looking at them. As prey animals birds mask their illnesses so as not to appear weak.

  • You guys are wonderful. I'll see what I can donate.

  • I know of this woman. The birds that were confiscated were not breeders - they were rescues and pets. Her breeders, I understand, are in a different building with long flights. You showed no pictures of them. I just wonder why help wasn't first offered to this woman who, admittedly, was over her head and needed assistance. Were there warnings given? Did she have other animals? Were they confiscated too? ARC should be an organization with heart - love for the animals and for the humans.

  • @birdiemom11 Let me see if I understand: The birds she was making money from lived in reasonable conditions but the others lived like this? If so, please explain why I should have "love" for her. I have love for the poor things that were trapped and dying because they weren't making money for her and were thus viewed as useless and not worthy of basics such as food and water. Sorry, no sympathy for her and if you knew her you must have seen what was going on. Why didn't YOU do something.

  • @birdiemom11 "Seven exotic birds found in a freezer during an animal cruelty investigation earlier this month died of starvation, according to necropsy reports."

And you STILL want us to feel sorry for her? Do you know how long it takes for this to happen. No matter what her punishment is she will NEVER suffer as much as these birds did slowly starving to death. She certainly looks like she fed herself. Oh wait- these weren't her money making birds so they don't count.

  • @birdiemom11 See you are part of the problem! Your defending this type of hoarding behavior is what allows it to exist because as you say you knew this was there all along and did nothing. You are an accessory to her neglectful abuse of these poor birds....YOU or she could have asked for help! That is what NORMAL human beings do when they get in over their heads but still have the ability to care more about the animals then their own false pride. I hope you learned from this but I doubt it!

  • 6 -7 dead birds ? Ugh!

Some images show birds that don't appear emaciated.

But Birds fed cheap 'all seed' diet may be 'fat' , yet malnourished with 'Fatty Livers' . Equals very sick bird after a few years.

There should have been NO emaciated birds at the home!

The filth and cages stacked one on top the other raises serious questions for me. Responsible breeders just don't stick one cage on top the other. If they must, a solid shelf prevents crap from raining down on birds below.

  • To clarify: ARC is a 501c3 non-profit. ARC operated in this case at the request of and in cooperation with local authorities. This was a bird mill, see hookbillhaven. The conditions inside the mill were well documented in the video and the ARC facebook photo album. The mill owner has now been found guilty of 4 counts of animal cruelty. The birds were rescued, sheltered, and transported at great expense to ARC, our partners and supporters.

  • ARC does not usually remove dissenting views or opinions. However, we are taking the unusual step of removing posts on this thread from a specific individual who is an admitted breeder and posting misinformation with an agenda; and trying to debate with others just wishing to leave a positive comment.

  • The birdies are the most beautiful of God's creatures He has given us to take care of. Thank you for rescuing some of them.

  • If only we had your help in Ohio. The Troy Parrots are in as bad or worse shape. Parrots eating other parrots. Just feathered wings left in some cases. Decapitated birds. No food. They were eating the walls and living in them. Flying out of duct work. We are having a demonstration tomorrow. But the kicker is he may be able to keep them if he cleans things up. If you can help, please help us.

  • @Parrotilla NOT A BIRD MILL? No one has 116+ parrots as pets. Any idiot knows that. I have a parrot. They NEED attention. 100+ parrots can not possibly get THEIR basic needs met. Let alone the too small cages they are in, and what you think their needs are.

  • Everyone knows about puppy and kitten mills, no one wonders where the pretty little bird sitting in the cage next to the puppy in the pet store comes from. There are bird mills just like there are puppy and kitten mills. The birds suffer as much as the dogs and cats do. Thanks for bringing this in the open. I

  • you people are my heroes :)

  • This breaks my heart. Thank you, thank you, thank you for saving these birds!

  • I can't stop tearing...this is deplorable!

  • I am not a bird lover and this brought tears to my eyes. Hope they all get new homes where people will love and care for them.

  • God bless you and all you do. You are a hero to animals everywhere.
