Really interesting and informative video, but missed a big point did at at any point John Diugnan got to know about what the money they raise is used for.
WOW. And because Tom Cruise is gay and Scientology kills gays, he will be killed as he comes out of the closet. Tom will only come out of the closet as he is done with Scientology, considering the state he is in right now. He hates himself man:p
This is a very good interview/documentary. Very good job. My benefit is, i wont talk bad about the people who are in the cult. They as it looks really have no understanding of hats going on.
In my younger years I was involved in another cult called "Adidam". . This interview was fascinating because so many of hte same methods and processes where used in Adidam as in Scientology thought hey are completely different in beliefs. . but yet so similar in structure and process. No surprise then that the founder of Adidam dabbled in Scientology. . and must have picked up lots of good ideas.
Wow, that was great. I really liked Jason Beghe's interview and i really liked this one. Two completely different perspectives but basically arriving at the same thing.
I am just stunned this cult not only has tax exempt status within the US but from what i have heard they have a special deal with the IRS and got it by using blackmail and "fair game" policies. I don't know the details but they have got the goods on certain people.
but I want to say too that I was fascinated to this video and THANK YOU for spreading the word. sorry if I came off too critical. it's tough to get out, I know, and you do what you believe is for the greatest good when you are in it.
so many ex-sci's talk about what cruel things are done, the rpf, strong armed tactics to get money, spying on family members of ex-sci's... and then they often flippantly say yeah, I did that while I was in. I was part of doing those things to people. It was part of scientology. I was MADE to believe it was right. Sure, you leave sci and try to spread the word about why you left, but I've never seen any responsibility or remorse on the things YOU (ex-sci) did while IN it. wierd
Then watch aaronsaxtonspeaks channel and you will get the remorse and responsibility. There are others on youtube that show you how guilty they feel. That was hindsight. But whilst in it? You'd be shoved to ethics so quickly it'll make your head spin. RPF is where you go if you doubt 'the word'. You can't shit without someone giving you a chit about it. It's not pleasant which ever way you look at it.
Been there (on staff and had Sea Org friends), lived it. Super glad I'm out though.
What I mean by point 11 is if you dimiss Scientology, then embrace Christianity, you're no better than a Scientologist. You're still buying into a work of fiction, in the bible. It's just much older and more fabled. Religion, in general, is responsible for more suffering, pain and death than anything in history. The cause of countless wars, unspeakable tortures, and devastated peoples. Terrorists hide behind religion. Murderers, liars and thieves do the same. Only Athiests are truly "free".
@seattle0002 Methinks you exaggerate. People who happened to be of the Christian faith, at least by baptism have done things. The religion itself teaches love, sacrifice, kindness till it hurts. Try to think a little deeper, huh?
@tjttzcspplt Look into religion's history. The Crusades, wars, burning "witches", and so on. The atrocities that have occurred in the name of God are well documented. You need only look. But I will freely admit that most modern day Christians are probably good people and that the bible has some good moral concepts. Yet organized religion is still about money and power in my view. I regard it as a scam. You can be spiritual, and have a relationship with your god, without organized religion.
@seattle0002 The crusades had to do with fighting the rotten Muslims who raped, pillaged, and enslaved people on their way to touring the holy land. "Burning witches" was mass hysteria. The "atrocities" are mostly exaggerations. Plus, You are personifying religion. The religion is really the teaching involved. Agreed, it should not be politicized.. If people would live by Christian teaching, and not try to enforce the form, it would go better.
@tjttzcspplt I agree. The teachings, in and of themselves, are not bad. It is that human beings have used religion (of all kinds) to further their political agendas. E.G. Some say the Koran also teaches love and tolerance. Yet terrorists have manipulated it. That is why I wish organized religion simply did not exist. So that human beings could be spiritual if they like, but not religious. Then again, human beings would probably find other reasons to kill each other. We can't seem to stop.
@seattle0002 Then again, we could live it as it was instructed in the first place, but, that is not to be. The missions of South America are a good example. Ever see "The Mission" with Robert DeNiro? Those communitites were literally heaven-on-earth, but, they were not allowed to continue. BTW, the movie is inaccurate. Hollywood makes it look like the Church gave in to the politicians, but, in reality, it supported the Missions. It didn't have the clout to make a diff.
7) It all comes down to mind control. It's an organization that uses mind control to make money. 8) The sound is bad. What a shame, as this interview is priceless. 9) That the organization heads are cowards does not surprise me. Same with any kind of bully. When you push back, they back down. 10) I will get his book. 11) As bad as Scientology is - I consider all religion to be bad. In fact, that's the only good thing Scientology has done... it's shown how ridiculous ALL cults/religions are!
1) John Duignan is a very courageous man for speaking out. 2) He's very well spoken. Must drive his former Scientology "handlers" crazy. 3) He is making up for the harm he did within the organization, by blowing the lid off it. 4) He's Irish. I bet that's why the "church" never tried to take him out. Don't fuck around with an Irishman. 5) It only takes a handful of people like this to bring down a massive cult. 6) The internet has worked against Scientology, as we all speak out against it!
Excellent. A fascinating and certainly cautionary tale. Helpful.
Thank you John & Shaun.
A thought: You might put together a "teaser"
video of intriguing snippets from the 16 parts, without giving away too much of the main events too soon.
Many people may be daunted by the sheer length, but the teaser might persuade them to watch the whole thing. Note they did a teaser for Beghe's long interview.
Nah, I read 2-4 books each day and relegate a couple to my bathroom, trying to read a few pages each day of each. It takes me a longer time to finish the book doing it my way, but I finally finished it. <3
Absolutely stellar interview. I just wish, again, that the sound was clearer; this testimony is ===so=== important for people to be able to hear. (I was able to "get" it all, but had to replay some places where his voice dropped.)
Anyway, bravo! Every day more people escape and more of those speak out. The stream is becoming a river! Keep telling your friends!
@jamie11, what i did was literally pick one of my speakers up and held it to my ear, so i could get everything that was said, i started off listening and trying to "hear", but got frustrated at having to go back, so i had a brain storm and it worked. compulsive listening wasnt it,
Buy a few copies of "The Complex" and give them away. I gave a copy to a high-school student and then she told me that she gave it to her friends to all read.
David. Miscavige. I've read about 40 testimonials and have watched about 10 videos of people with first hand accounts of his psychotic behavior. They all can't be lying. He deserves to go to prison (and all his goons as well....especially the fear-mongering, bullying OSA). Fuck them all.
Marty Rathburn was Misacavige's#2 & he's blown the cult now & giving interviews. But he did a lot of damage to people, some of which he admits to.He too would physically beat on people, and would direct some fair game persecutions. He was also a litigation harassment specialist. The problem is, though he's out, he seems reluctant to try to make up for his crimes or even apologize to individual victims-Gerry Armstrong for one.
Marty: out but still an a-hole?He should share a cell with Miscavige!
There are so many people speaking out from personal experiences even David Miscavige's niece has som einteresting things to say, they can't all be lies
1. That is a major distortion of what he said - it's clear to anybody watching this interview that he is not a 'drug addicted crazy person'. 2. Even if he were, there could still be some validity in what he says. I find it strange that scientology decries pyschologists' treatment of people yet has such a nasty, dismissive, discrediting attitude towards their supposed victims, ie. anyone with psychological or drug problems.
very good insight. I watched all 16 parts and I'm ordering his book from Amazon. I actually felt kinda bad for Miscavige there at the end. I don't think I realized how unreal his whole life has been. Maybe it's all been too much and ultimately made him mad.
Wow, just finished watching all 16 parts. Riveting stuff! His description of Miscavige as "damaged, institutionalized, unbalanced and violent" is apt indeed. Shaun, thanks for this interview. Very informative.
