  • I would hate to be the kid under her tutelage.

  • GREED is the new MORALITY!

  • jeez.... you guys are mean.

  • Fucking Communist toads

  • CNN= neo liberal scumbags

  • Dumbfucks. Who in the private sector with a masters degree(8 years of school) makes 50k a year. Wisconsin has alot of suckers. Right wing radio is eatin up the planet. Liberals are gone, too dumb too lazy. $10 per hour for life

  • "im out here for my students!" BULLSHIT! you're there for your own fucking wallet. You whore! Are you saying you wont be as good a teacher if you dont get your free ride on the gravy train? fuck you. I am a highschool student at JMM Madison, I was off for nearly a week because of our teachers protesting. Its completely selfish.

  • Just an FYI to all you hating on her, she was nominated an award for one of the best teachers in the country. What she says is true.

  • @IdahoFire19 just like obama and peace prize?????????

  • great democrat thing to do, avoid the question completely when you know how wrong you are

  • He needs to be a man and come to the table?? WTF how about all the dems who ran off to illinois? NO YOUR WRONG, there is no place for unions in the public sector FDR (the godfather of unions) said it himself in a speach in 1937, look it up...wisconsin is one of the states that is turning itself around, i'm from wisconsin, THANK YOU SCOTT WALKER

  • Thanks to liberal policy the world economy is crashing. We must do two things to stop the meltdown NOW!!! Firstly, we need to raise all payroll taxes 10% for one year. We also need to stop (right now) wasteful handout programs like medicare, social security, unemployment,, etc. and lower the minimum wage to $2/hr so we can compete with China. I will work with Perry, Ryan and my other republican colleagues and take immediate action on these proposals. God bless the GOP!

  • LMAO, hilarious. the teachers entire response was nonsensical.

  • she's out there for her students my azz. she was out there for herself, damned hypocrite.

  • As if CNN wasn't biased to all things leftist enough alreadt... leftists are quintessentially tyrants.

  • @USA4July1776 That is why its a good thing a diff. question is being asked of this teacher..lol

  • "Four legs good, two legs bad!"

  • Is it any wonder today's kids are so damn stupid with "teachers" like this bubble-headed broad? I'm sorry, she's only an assistant band director. Whoopee. PS: Since when is asking civil servants to contribute more to their pensions and healthcare an "attack on unions" by the way?

  • I hope this dumb bitch (teacher) is outta work...boy talk about ignorant...

  • That teacher sounds incredibly dumb

  • we have it pretty lucky in america. labor unions have no where near the amount of power as they do in other countries.

  • "I'm out here for my students, I'm out here for their rights...". Why not just quit your meaningless job you communist bitch!

  • United We Stand! = I am not going to answer any questions that would implicate Democrats. This is so ridiculous.

  • Union: "It's not about money but a partnership!"

Governor: "Fine you can have you're collective bargaining. Let's proceed to negotiations. What is your proposal?"

Union: "Salary increases of 20%. Thanks partner!" :)

    Governor: "FUCK!" >:{

  • Looks like some lay-offs are in order

  • for all of you out there, Riesch is the best teacher ive ever had. she started chating at the end because she couldnt heart the newscaster anymore. Riesch is amazing, and all of your selfish, rude comments are not appreciated. we all have different opinions on this.

  • @jleachbeast I take it you weren't busy learning any new sheet music or band marches during that time, were ya? Helluva direction to send taxpayer money, eh?

Oh well. It's not a practical skill, so it's OK for the school to fire Riesch.

  • scarry that we have teachers like her teaching our childern. Of course she out there for her own greed. I hope she gets fired and no pension paid.

  • Can anyone tell me how a teachers retirement pension helps the kids? They are using kids for their own monitary gain. A real teacher stays in the classroom where they can benefit the kids the most. The teachers that continued to educate our children needs a big fat raise and the ones at the rally in the name of teacher pensions needs to be fired.

  • A Band teacher. That means she's both a beater and a blower.

  • Be thankful that she is only a Band Director...

  • Ms. Rice! HAHAHAHAHAA!!!! How embarrassing it must be to be YOU!!!!

  • Another tenured public school clown that doesn't know her ass from a hole in the ground. These fuckin' teachers should turn to their administrators and tell those thieving bastards to take pay-cuts. They are so brainwashed it's pathetic!

  • "OH NO! Someone's using logic! Quick! Chant some meaningless rhetoric until the boogeyman goes away!"

  • @FiveofHearts1 haha....thank you sir that made my day

  • "If it starts here it would be going to other states." Um... a large chunk of the other states already DO NOT have collective bargaining. Yes, more states will repeal but that's because unions serve no purpose in modern times. No one is getting their hands cut off in open machinery anymore. No one is being forced to work 100 hour weeks. The point of unions was to put workers and employers on the same level. These unions put too much power in the hands of the workers and it's unbalanced.

  • Nancy Riesch is a WHORE and her union thugs are terrorists....

  • The Wisconsin teachers have demonstrated to the world what pure unadulterated selfishness looks like.

There state is nearly $4 billion in the hole and they don't give a damn. Unions in general don't give a damn.

  • “It is not because we care about children, and it is not because we have a vision of a great public school for every child. NEA and its affiliates are effective advocates because we have power. And we have power because there are more than 3.2 million people who are willing to pay us hundreds of millions of dollars in dues.”

  • Kill The Bill !

  • How, exactly, is bankrupting the state helping "the kids?" She and the rest of the union are nothing but selfish thugs who've been runing amok for FAR TOO LONG! SHAME on her! SHAME on the Unions! HOORAY for SCott Walker!

  • @Imagine20121 LOL yes hooray for him his buddies are laughing all the way to the bank you idiots.

  • The Unions have driven the USA into the ground. The Steel industry, Chrysler in Kenosha closed .Jobs sent across seas because it is cheaper than Unionized labor.

  • I think the next thing to go after is the state funded college universities, where the professors and deans make

inflated salaries, and pass the cost on to the kids and parents, by ripping them off with over priced text books

and jacking the tuition up, every yr.

  • The unions in Wisconsin just showing their collective Marxist ass. What a bunch crybabies. The taxpayer is suffering, but somehow we all should pay up so they can continue on with these generous compensation packages...the public be damned.

To Hell with these public sector unions.

  • Where is the Beauty and the Beast Unit when you need them?

  • Yeah Reisch!!!!!! You da bomb

  • the Governor needs to be man enough and come to the table lady? How about the Democratic legislatures you elected as your voice. Oh wait, they're hiding in another state. Pussys...

  • Hey, right wing nutjobs. Wanna know where collective bargaining is BANNED and people have been thrown in PRISON for even belonging to unions?

    Ans. COMMUNIST CHINA.

Wake up fools and act patriotic over something other than war.

  • I am amazed at how many people think that taxing the rich will solve the problem. Fair or not this is how the system works. A state increases corporate taxes, one of three things will happen, the corporation will move to a state that is tax friendly, the corporation will move the jobs overseas or the corporation will increase the prices to the consumer (you and me). So raising the taxes of the rich resolves what?

  • These fat lazy communists need to go do their jobs!

  • "Collective bargaining is civil rights..." Ignorant wretch. Learn some American history.

"United we stand" - shorthand for I don't have any answers for your questions and I don't want to have to justify my bullshit stance anymore.

  • @redanjin Your absolutley right. Nobody has a right to a job. "Collective bargaining rights" is not a right, but a privledge, which can be taken away if abused which unions have.

  • @redanjin Wow! That's your take on the USA motto. Your a fucking idiot redanjin and certainly not a patriot. Eat a big hair dick you communist.

  • This whole teacher's issue is a disgrace. Gov. Walker should be ashamed at what he is trying to do. Screwing over these workers even farther, people who are trying to make themselves a living, will solve the economy, but if we tax the top 2% of the richest people, that will not solve anything. Getting nearly $3 trillion dollars won't solve anything. How is this even logical!?

  • "...if I don't be out here for them..." - lulz

  • Comment removed

  • what maroons

  • She is one of the MOST uninformed Teachers I have ever heard from or she really is dumb. There Union dues go to the Democrat Party and WE the taxpayers are PAYING IT for them since THEY WORK for US!!!

  • Here is the dirty little SECRETE! MONEY GOES TO DEMOCRAT PARTY WE TAXPAYERS ARE FUNDING THIS BS!

Employees and political action committees of organizations that make up the big four special interests that own the Democratic Party contributed hundreds of millions of dollars in campaign contributions to the party's federal candidates in 2010.The top 20 labor unions, for example, gave more than $68 million in 2010, with 94 percent of the total going to Democrats and just 4 percent to Republicans.

  • we need some Mexicans teaching in there.. they work for almost nothing and they dont bitch about every little thing. you do have that rite stop working for the people your working for and get your ass another job

  • Did you hear her shhhh them. The were quite quicker than the announcement for the National Anthem

  • Governor Scott Walker for President!! Talking about making the tough decisions. Oh and by the way nobody is trying to bust the unions, just another whining bunch of unionites. We are all going to have to pay for this overspending hangover in our state and federal governments. Sorry the tax and spend party is over.

  • Just one more reason to pull your kids out of WI public schools!

  • The left wing in America would be so fucked if not for illegal immigrant anchor babies being pumped out to guarantee a new generation of ignorant minority voters blindly voting Democrat.

  • Collective bargaining for a mandatory membership? If the membership were voluntary, I would believe the union leaders did represent their members' voices.

  • Where were the protesters when NAFTA caused United Auto Workers and AFLCIO workers to loose their jobs. United my ass, they will take all they can steal from the taxpayers, the parents of the children they teach.

"I sill represent the students when they start paying Union Dues" National President of the Teachers Union.

  • When Unions can buy Democrat politicians there is no collective bargaining!!! Watch the video "Waiting for Superman" hear about Wiscounsins dance of the lemmons bad teachers can't be fired just passed on.

  • i don't feel like arguing... i'm just going to say that riesch is the best teacher i have ever had. also, she had taught band for about forty years, and her hearing has gotten bad (even i would have a hard time hearing with that crowd of people behind me.)

  • @blustonefbs LOL then you say excuse me I did not hear you. not start chanting united we stand

  • God. What a moron. She says he needs to come to the table, but if he came to the table and said no, she'd be right back out there "for the students." Crapola. I wonder if she kicks in her summers off, free, for "the students." Or maybe gives up one percent of her retirement "for the students."

  • @nohiros There just mad because they have to bargain as there paid for democrats didn't get a majority for a change. Oregon passed a retro tax on Gross Sales for small businesses as if the recession wasn't hard enough, but hey Teachers pensions come before our ability to eat where democrats hold majorities!

  • Fire them all!!!

  • Interesting how the Dims don't mind cramming healthcare down everyone's throat in the name of "democracy", but flee their jobs and even the state when "democracy" is thrust upon them.

  • @bigbeninjax

    "... cramming healthcare down everyone's throat ..." ?

So you want to go back to the Republican's healthcare plan -"pray you don't get sick",

a healthcare plan that makes it legal for health insurance corporations to deny health care to people,

including children, with pre-existing conditions, to cancel coverage for people who become seriously ill?

You're just another dumb ass Republican sheep who has been brainwashed by millionaires like Rush Limbaugh

    who hate the middle class.

  • @ewnowak No, I'm just a hospital worker who has been in the field for 28 years and know where the real problems lie....and also happen to know the Constitution doesn't give the Congress the authority to force its citizens to purchase a product.

  • @bigbeninjax

Do you know what the concept of health INSURANCE is? A large group of people pay so that an unfortunate few can receive health care benefits they could otherwise not afford, and THEY ARE HAPPY TO DO SO because they know that if, God forbid, some day they become seriously ill they will also receive those benefits. But IT CAN ONLY WORK IF EVERYBODY, NOT JUST THE SICK, PARTICIPATE! DON'T YOU GET IT!

Who will pay if YOU get into an accident and receive emergency care? We will deadbeat!

  • @ewnowak But the CONCEPT is VOLUNTARY... and I also know that the govt can't force someone who doesn't own a home to buy Homeowner's Insurance, or a person who doesn't own a car to buy Car Insurance, or a person who rents to buy Renter's Insurance. The basic problem is HEALTHCARE costs are outrageous and his plan does NOTHING to bring those down. BTW, if ObamaCare is so wonderful, how come he has already exempted over 700 corporations including your Union from it??? Who's the deadbeat now???

  • Riesch herself told me she couldnt hear what the news person was saying. she did happen to have a great reply to the last question, but she thought the person said the interview was over. if you don't know riesch, i wouldn't judge her.

  • @blustonefbs She was asked it three times and kept doing anything but answering. If she told you that, she lied. Watch the tape.

  • united we stand united we stand united we stand united we stand united we stand united we stand united we stand united we stand united we stand united we stand united we stand united we stand united we stand united we stand

  • @phillyrepn United you fall onto my waiting cock which will fuck you all HAHAHA

  • Fire them all wholesale!

They live at the direct expense of theft victoms (tax payers), end property taxes all together, give BACK alodial title to OUR private property, and let people with kids educate on their own or co-op with others and take the money out of the system. They all act like a bunch of spoiled kids that just got told, "no you can't have a pony because WE CAN'T AFFORD IT". And they just can't understand where money comes from. Are there any math teachers there?

  • FIRE ALL THR PROTESTING TEACHERS

  • Thumbs up if this video made you fart with grief

  • how come the cops dont give Tickets to those crossing the street on the DONT walk LIGHT. protesting is not over any law are they?

I think i will protest that Teachers can break the law and get away with it.

I dont what teachers breaking J-walking laws showing our kids its ok to do that.

  • i believe it!!

  • Riesch is my teacher. She's one of my favorites! :)

  • shut up and just pay the same percentage of your benefits like the rest of us schmucks...

  • Comment removed

  • now there own handlers are calling them back to "work", useing the term loosely of course. Its back fireing on them. Keep it up democrats the rest of the country is learning that you are the problem.

  • This is about america!

  • Go figure. Democrats and Unions don't like the democratic process when it doesn't go their way. That's all I need to know about their argument.

  • Absolutely incredible, yet par for the course.

  • watch?v=Bx4pN-aiofw&feature=related

  • Gangrape this moronic cunt

  • why did I have to watch 3 minutes of shit before the title of the video actually happened?

  • Sheeeeit lady. You're not out there for the children. You are there for the money and bennie's What a joke.

  • What is this "voice" crap. Without your "collective bargining" you will be just like the rest of us. There is an entire federal, state, and local bureaucray dedicated to fair employment, and labor issues. Only the bloated government employee unions are growing, because politicans are bribing them with sweat heart deals.

  • The SCARIEST part is that this woman teaches our children.............

  • @hjgjaxson Well, I understand that you americans attack teachers. I understand that you are 39th in education studies in the world. You don't give voice to teacher´s and their unions. That is shit. You will end up in mud in america you stupid shit heads! Fuck you!!

  • @hjgjaxson Like you could do better!

  • @hjgjaxson No, the scariest part is that morons like you exist. Fox News spends millions trying to find people that help make their point. This woman, while probably not as silly as the video makes her seem, is not what Wisconsin teachers look like. Wisconsin teachers are dedicated and caring. People like you are dangerously stupid. Does ignorance and stupidity actually hurt physically? I hope so.

  • @GodlessAndHappy1 Feel better? Typical union activist/supporter response....... threaten someone. Nice.

  • @GodlessAndHappy1 This is CNN MORON!!! Dumb Shit!

  • If you don't like your pay and benefits go back to school and get another job. End of conversation. STFU woman.

  • @cloogerdude why do you think unions are dumb? If it weren't for unions all of the Detroit autoworkers would have lost their jobs and GM would have died. You have to be fucking dumb if you don't understand why there is unions. Without unions you're pretty much running sweat shops faggot.

  • UNION PARASITES

  • This has nothing to do with money... plenty to do with breaking the unions in America... Union members must stand up for their rights NOW... or the road back, later, might get really nasty!

  • 5 states don't have bargaining rights for teachers and they rank 44, 47, 48, 49 & 50 in ACT/SAT scores. Wisconsin ranked 2nd.

  • "Mr. America walk on by your schools that do not teach. Mr. America walk on by the minds that won't be reached."-Frank Zappa

What rang true in 1966 rings true in 2011. END GOVT SCHOOLS!

  • @VictoryCough I cannot believe in this wasteland of Youtube there is another who understands and quotes Zappa. If, by chance , I also see or hear Captain Beefheart on Youtube I wil be forced to put on my snakeskin boots and drop one more time. Kudos to you, man

  • wow.... I like the part at the end where they "debate" by chanting "four legs good, two legs bad".

  • Unions served a purpose when children were losing limbs during the industrial age. The other 90% of the US work force (those of us who aren't unionized) are represented just fine. Modern unions are a means for demanding more and more, while stripping the ability to enforce individual accountability.

  • @Buxterminator without unions, some schools would find a way to "get rid of" high paid teachers that have been teaching for 20-25 years, and replace them with young 25k a year teachers. As a young teacher, I do not want to put my life into a school district to be Laid Off based on "merit" in 25 years. I know that some schools would find a "merit" excuse to lay off expensive employees. This scares me, and the union protects against such actions.

  • @ReflectiveTeacher And in the case that the teacher being laid off was laid off wrongfully, they would be able to seek legal representation, and prove their case. You think this doesn't happen in every other field of work? Go figure... Not everyone is cut out for teaching, and school districts ought to have the ability to prune the workforce that is shaping our future. That is no different than ANY other field of work.

  • funny how the fags commenting below don't know shit about the public school system. I hope you know that if the if the governor gets his way that theres going to be more kids smoking marijuana and snorting cocaine on the streets. And theres going to be more gangs and shootings and theres not gana be any new scientist and future leaders left. I hope you conservative retards like being ruled by a high school drop out in the future.

  • DOWN WITH THE EDUCATION-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX!!!

Teachers are incompetent. When we've created an environment where students are exposed to violence and drugs and many of them dread even having to attend school, we've done something very immoral and unethical. And we spend billions and billions on it. The unions just keep screaming they need more.

I'm not sure how you protesting a change in your pension is protecting a students rights. How naive!

  • @VictoryCough So what do you want kids to do? Go out in the streets and smoke and snort cocaine? You're a fucking retard. Not only does the public school industry provide opportunities for children rich and poor, but it also keeps them from going out into the streets without any knowledge and keeps them from doing drugs. Also, it provides a daycare for parents who have to work more than 8 hours a day. The reason today's teacher's are incompetent is because of you don't appreciate them.

  • @capitandelfuego

Appreciation of sub-standard performance isn't part of the deal, and teaches the students that are supposed to be learning from the teachers that a sub-standard performance will be rewarded at the same level as an exceptional performance. Removing the leeches that steal from the teachers under the guise of protecting them will only benefit the teachers and the students.

  • @capitandelfuego Illiteracy was rare before we had a public school system. There is nothing the govt does farly or correctly. Public schools are not mentioned in the Consitution. These greedy teaher-bitches even protested having Viagra removed as a freebei from their health insurance coverage. Fire them all. Privatize education.

It is a privilege to work for govt and you give up rights when you work for a govt institution. How can you be happy with your fat pension with starving kids around

  • @capitandelfuego What don't you get? Kids are doing drugs in schools!

Look at your word choice! It's obvious that you're a product of government schools.

"Also, it provides a daycare for parents who have to work more than 8 hours a day. "

You pretty much summed it up. Its a young adult daycare that the federal governments runs.

  • @VictoryCough I am not incompetent. I do not expose my students with violence and drugs. My students look forward to my classes. I consider myself and my career moral and ethical. I spend hundreds of my own money on my class. As a hard-working, dedicated, experienced teacher the unions protect me from a school district laying me off based on pay. Please understand, without union protection, schools would lay off the most expensive/highest paid teachers first.

  • @ReflectiveTeacher So basically, you are saying the only reason you have a job is your membership in the union, not because you're a good teacher. My guess is in a truly competitive education system, you wouldn't have a job.

And every teacher is competent right? We've spend almost $12,000 per student per year, 2nd highest in the world, and our test scores are flat! Yet year after year teachers union just demand more and more money.

  • @VictoryCough Okay. I have spent the last day or two really researching these issues and trying to see your side of the argument. I do not like your language "teachers are incompetent". Sorry no. SOME teachers are incompetent. Some teachers are great, and most, if their willing can be great. After spending some hard time reflecting on these issues and some of the more respectful arguments (not yours, you are just mean). I have come to a conclusion that....

  • @VictoryCough I have come to the conclusion that teachers unions are only there to protect BAD teachers. They are actually holding me back as an educator. Teachers Unions are against evaluating teachers and paying teachers based on success. I would say this is the only way teachers should be evaluated. I have some coworkers that are no good teachers and they know it. These people need fired. Victorycough, while your words are condescending and judgmental, they pushed me to find the truth.

  • @VictoryCough So, yes, you are right. Collective bargaining and Teachers Unions should be dissolved. Your reasoning is immature and it feels like you believe teachers salaries should compete with Assistant Manager at McDonald's salaries. While I agree some teachers deserve much less than minimum wage. The majority of us are truly dedicated hard working teachers. Of course, a truly dedicated hard working teacher doesn't need a Union to hide behind. Bring on accountability!

  • @VictoryCough Who wants to work in a career field where they will most likely be laid off near retirement age and start making decent money? I do not like those prospects. We are not protesting a change in our pension. We have agreed to the pension cuts and health care increases. We understand the need for them in the short term due to the budget shortfalls. We are protesting to maintain our collective bargaining rights, that without will destroy the education system and harm our children.

  • @ReflectiveTeacher You've already destroyed education! Only 77% of americans graduate high school! Western Europe is at 90% and that doesn't include Europeans who go into industrial trade school! The Wash DC School Dist spent $28,000/student in 2009 and their graduation rate is 72%!

Compare that to the cost of tuition at private schools across the nation where they have 95-98% of graduates going to college! The unions are against vouchers because parents wouldn't choose government schools!

  • @VictoryCough Europe has a higher graduation rate because their school system has been completely socialized. And I am going to the University of Arizona studying to be an engineer so shut the fuck up you little white piece of trash. Do you know what a socialized school system does? It makes your kids graduate at 90% like europe and teachers and unions have practically total control of the public school system in europe. And not everyone can afford private school tuition retard.

  • Completely socialized? You don't know what you are talking about. The US has a completely socialized education system. In fact, money in most Western European countries is attached to the individual student and can be used at any school that the student/parents want!

We spend more in the US ($11,561) than most private schools cost!

"And I am going to the University of Arizona studying to be an engineer so shut the fuck up you little white piece of trash"-There's that public school talk again

  • @VictoryCough Wrong you fucking retard. The european public school system is organized so that any student can go to school including college for free. Parents have the right to choose what school their children go to in Europe because it is completely socialized meaning that the people own the public school system. You should read how the school system works in Europe and you'll see the complete difference in which case nothing is privatized.

  • @capitandelfuego No, you are wrong. There is no such thing as a free education. European governments use a voucher system that attaches X amount of tax dollars to the individual student. They are allowed to choose any school they'd like to go. In Belgium, most go to private schools. But guess what, 3rd world countries that have only private charitable schools are testing much higher than US schools!

What about the US system is not socialized? It's the definition of a socialized system.

  • @VictoryCough Wow you just contradicted yourself. "There is no such thing as a free education." and "They are allowed to choose any school they'd like to go. In Belgium, most go to private schools." Anyways that just proves how retarded you are. European students have a free education even through college fag and guess what their graduation rate is and their intelligence? O and European school districts are completely socialized to the point where teachers and unions are head.

  • @capitandelfuego Again, tell me how them being able to choose whatever school they go to is free? They pay taxes, the money is then attached to the individual student and they are allowed to choose whatever school they want. Every school has tuition, some may charge more than your alloted amount. I'm not sure how you think this equates to being "free".

Can you not write one paragraph without using the words "retard" or "fag"?

  • @VictoryCough And stop trying to play on the word "free" Everyone knows nothing is free retard. The point is that European countries tax in a manner that allows its citizens to gain many and very important social benefits without having them be exploited by private corporations. See, having the freedom to fix your broken arm from an accident or get a free vaccination without being charged is everyone human's right to live a happy life not like in the US where you're charged $5000 for an accident

  • @capitandelfuego

I'm not playing on the word "free", you're misusing it in an attempt to say their education system is better because its free. This is a logical fallacy known as a red herring.

How can you possibly say something as non-normative as "living a happy life" is a right? How can one possibly guarantee that?

For your sake, I hope you were lying about going to U of A for engineering, because you need to start again from the 9th grade.

  • @VictoryCough No, you're trying to misinterpret my argument by saying im creating a fallacy about the word "free" when my argument has nothing to do with "free." And technically the European education is free to students since they don't have to pay dumbass.

lol at your question "How can you possibly say something as non-normative as "living a happy life" is a right?"

that just shows how selfish and self centered you are since you don't believe in others happiness and wont give anything up

  • @VictoryCough Also, I have no clue what 3rd world country you're talking about and I doubt you even know. If you seriously can't see the difference between American public education and European then don't ever get involved in public education politics please. You'll just ruin it for the rest of us. And also, Europe pays their teachers twice the amount the US does. Maybe you should think about that before you start saying contradicting shit.

  • Considering the avg teacher in the EU earns $29,000 and avg US salary for HS teachers is $51K I'd say you're wrong! You have this idealized vision of Europe that just doesn't hold up to the facts. Teachers in Wester Europe are held to extremely high standards, including majoring in the subjects they teach! In Finland, Sweden, Germany and Estonia all primary teachers must have master degrees! Compare that to the US Praxis 1 test for prospective teachers!

google 3rd world nations grade averages.

  • @VictoryCough Lol i wouldn't get my facts from just googling crap. First of all if you actually read articles of public education, you would see that the STARTING salary of a teacher in the UK is $30000. However in the rest of Europe it is almost $50000 and thats just the STARTING pay as teachers can move up ranks. 2) The average starting pay in US is $30000 which is not even enough to buy a house. Not only that, but Europe gives its teachers multiple social benefits including free health care

  • @capitandelfuego And you go that information from "articles of public education" as you call them? Are you 5 years old? I think you mean scholarly journals, but I'm not sure.

My info on average salaries comes from European Trade Union Institute which did a study in the summer of 2008. It's easily available online. The average teacher salary for HS teachers came from US dept of education.

I'd like to know, whats your solution to fix public schools. Because it obvious they are not working.

  • @VictoryCough And you're criticizing my wording of articles "scholarly journals" which is an exact same thing. You're a complete dumbass. You can tell that you're a dumbass too because you get your info from a last minute internet source. I've actually read "scholarly articles" about public education and I'm actually attending college so I know how public education works, unlike your sorry drop out ass.

  • @VictoryCough Also, in Europe and Japan, teachers are appreciated so they get paid much more than they get paid in the US not only that, but they get free health care and retirement plans. Lol i can't believe that you think privatizing the school system well get us anywhere near Europe's education and graduation rates. What a dumbass fag that doesn't know anything about politics and government.

  • @capitandelfuego Again, there you go with your public school diction.

Can you make a clear argument without calling people "fags" or "retards"?

In the movie "Idiocracy", people become so dumb that they think anyone who speaks properly "Talks like a fag."

Sounds like someone commenting on this video.

  • @VictoryCough Protects the kiddies rights to more agnostic commie indoctrination. If you have kids in public schools or have returned to university at middle age it is absolutely incredible how high the tard factor is today. I spent three semesters assisting a prof with english paper critiques. Speechless is the only way I can sum up the experience. Public education was once a positive model here in the U.S..Now it's an exercise in what not to do.It's time to kick these fascist teachers out.

  • Hahahah, the dumb leftist alleged "band teacher" (probably out-of-state activist), has no response to the CNN anchor's question at the end.

  • If everyone has to 'share the pain' where are all the bills, amendments, and budget proposals that cut the Representatives, Senators, Governors, and Veep and Presidential salaries and benefits??? And just why has no one asked this before?

  • Hold your ground Governor.

  • Funny how the "Teacher" mentions it's all about the kids for all of 6-8 seconds and then the rest of the interview is we this, we that, we want we....

Good for CNN for putting it out there and lame response or lack of.

  • And we wonder why all the youtube commenter's are getting stupid. Teachers deserve good pay and benefits because teaching sucks. You want smart children then teachers should be top paid period. You want dumb children then keep cutting teacher pay.

  • @MyLittleBomb in your state that may be. We have already passed this sort of bill in AZ. The world has not ended. We all need to make cuts. You can easily tell the divide in the country be reading the comments. Some people feel entitled and believe gov employees should have more rights them private sector jobs.

  • @MyLittleBomb That is just not true.... Pay is not an incentive to perform better, but COMPETITION is. Teaching does not "suck" unless you are doing a job that is not your calling, only for a pay check. Dumb children will result until parents have the choice where to send their children!!! Break this union and open up VOUCHERS for true competition!

  • Ya teachers are doing a bangup job, then ripping Wisc. residents by getting fake Dr. notes so they don't have to work AND get paid. I stand behind firefighters and EMTs, THAT'S it. OH, to the delegates from Wisc., GTF out of my state, go home do your job, I do not want you in Illinois

  • I hope the American people stay UNITED, fire that big mouth lying bitch teacher, and all union thugs. This is an illegal strike! A little lesson, If one believes he/she cannot be replaced, stick one of your fingers into a glass of water, then rapidly remove it. If there is a hole left in the water where your finger was, you cannot be replaced. All of the rest of us can be replaced.

Barrack INSANE Obomba is learning less and less about more and more and soon will know nothing about anything.
