  • Well now, nicely played but I could've as well listened to the original track. This thing is not a lesson.

  • Sweet cover, where's the lesson?

  • I'm surprised your finger tips still exist..

  • @playguitarsolos_Stevie was just locked in to a different channel than the rest. He was and is, one of a kind. I miss him dearly and I know the music world misses him too. He was the young kid in the neighborhood that would bug the ZZ Top brothers and Eric Clapton, to jam with them. One day, we will all be jamin in a sweet reunion on golden guitars that never go out of tune or break a string. Amen to that! :)

  • HANK III PLAYS IT DIFFERENTLY!

  • Great job man, I've been playing a long time and that is the best I've seen anyone cover that solo.

  • That was sick

  • I love my mexican strat.

  • Tom kicks ass! Just goes to show you talent is key. Not the cost of the guitar you dimwitts!

  • Really class man cheers!

  • what a stud! finally the perfect lesson, at the perfect speed.. keep em coming.. subscribe.....

  • great

  • definitely see how this is a lesson...

  • o m fucking god...this is cunting amazing dudes..you are the fucking fimest hear upon youtube nigga.

  • that is awesome!

  • awsome stevie reincarnated

  • That was awesome dude! Great tone!

Check out my version if you have the time :)

  • best yet, ive herd

  • fantastic guitarist and great vid's thank's.

  • Wow, that felt a lot longer than 1:40.

    That's not a bad thing though. :]

  • What is the deal with SRV?? Has to be the most over rated guitarist of all time,I have never heard him do anything amazing? Seems pretty basic stuff to me compared to the likes of Tommy Emmanuel or Sol Philcox.

  • @jonnykk2...if you have to ask, you'll never know or understand it. I've seen Tommy many times and he is great...few could ever do what he does technically. By the same token, Tommy could never be SRV...and you will never understand that! Explain how to tell blue from red to the color blind. Let me know how that goes.

  • @Randy5817 ...most folks are red-green color blind, and can see blue just fine.

    LOLZ!

  • amazing, I can't belive anyone would dislike this. you got some skills my friend.

  • Very good! I have never been able to play the turn around like Stevie, you do an amazing job, keep up the good music!

  • Holy shit, man. I'm blown away. Gotta work on this one, myself.

  • that's some real tight playing man, keep it up!

  • Now repeat after me. I will never sale out

  • @davidwaters69 totally awesome comment

  • Playing is fucking awesome, but what made SRV so unique was his tone...

  • @365fg part of it

  • ur amazing

    Beautiful stuff bud

  • really nice keep the good work

  • nice tone and playing how did you get such a nealy perfect copy of his tone

  • Now that was awesome! I keep stopping and starting this so I can learn some of those licks. You've got everything detail nailed, from the sound to your picking technique! Good job man! (Y)

  • that wuz like spot-on!!!! holy crap! SRV is like so awesome thats like my fav song too!!! hahaha RIP :(

  • hahahahaha thank you stilt37, i agree with you, edward1312 is a complete jackass.

  • @Edward1312 why does it matter how much money was spent for his guitar if he can play the shit out of it? people like you are why music nowadays is so lacking in emotion. all you care about is how much your instrument cost, when you probably cant play it half as good as ppl who actually care about the real music. ps. youre a jackass

  • I totally agree with stilt37,edward1312 when he was comming out of his mother during his birth the doctors slapt his mama instead of him and he's still asleep...lol

  • @stilt37 its just a fender anyways heh

  • Comment removed

  • @Edward1312 i have a mexi strat :) love it actually. what kind of guitar you have?

  • haha your so fkn good.. big inspiration! ty!

  • wow you played it so b-e-a-utiful

  • nice playin! thanks for posting

  • I had an orgasm! SWEET!

  • great solo man, real SRV. would like to hear you play it without the track though

  • Thanks! that's a lot of help

  • what can I say! sweet!!!

  • I never could get the SRV solo groove man.. jus was a little too complicating for me to grip. any tips?

  • Alright man ! very accurate feel & sound, congrats you should have an SRV tribute band !

  • epic man

  • hey your bang on! man your good!

    Jimi Hendrix was #1

    Stevie is #2 ever ever

hey i guess that makes you#3 cause you sound exact to beautiful Stevie

  • holy shit!!! that was awesome!!! that was as perfect as you could get it. excellent job!!! any video lessons on how to play that?

  • Nailed it!

  • I wish I could do this.

  • That is the best version I have ever heard anyone play.

  • I agree.. Very clean.

  • SRV would be proud of you. You better be gigging somewhere with that skill. Don't waste your talent.

  • Yeah man!! wonderfull !!!! Thanks for the video lesson.

  • Oh dang that's sweet. I'm really impressesed.

  • very cool...

  • how old were u when you started playing guitar??

  • a little behind Stevie Ray is not a insult!!!

  • very nice

  • i love you

  • Did great job

  • hey buddy, fuck you,......play it right without the backing track or dont play it at all..theres no need to talk shit

  • Spot on! Nice work.

  • computer backround... so distracting lol

  • that was good enough to be double track material, you nailed every part.

  • INCREDIBLE!!!

That was sweet man!! To start with I wasn't sure if you were playing or miming!! Dead on!

  • awesome~

  • Jesus, thats the best STV cover I've ever heard... I'm almost questioning if its really him playing or not lol 5/5!

  • STV?

  • SRV... T beside the R :'( mistype

  • dang this is sick

  • oh yes! this is goood

  • Very nice......awesome!!

  • My hands arent strong enuff .. Id rip the skin right off lol

  • It takes time an tons of tone to immulate SRV an ur as close to SRV as anyone keep it up man I really enjoyed very very nice

  • the main thing to imitate SRVs sound is the gauge strings that he uses which are usually between 11 and 54

  • he used 13-58 and 12-54

  • He had big hands.

  • Good to know. Most people don't ever mention that.

  • siempre quise ver que alguien toque esta cancion...y realmente GOOD JOB!!!

  • Nice job, sounds good

  • Can you please provide tabs in your videos and please show us how to play lenny by SRV

  • Why did America get the religious nuts and Australia the convicts?

Australia got first pick. canada had the people that could put up with the French.

  • hahaha nice.

  • If your selling the solo's on video, how did you get a video sync license for the songs? I looked into it at one point and it seemed expensive and time consuming.

  • Meh I can't take these vids seriously. The original audio from Stevie is so load, it makes up for everything you miss and smoothes it out into a nice mix that compliments your playing. Do it over a backing track without the original solo!

  • no this guy is legit.

  • i think u should try guitar pro.try google for that software.

  • dude you know your stuff. keep it up !

  • fucking great

  • AWESOME

  • damn. this guy's married and he's a crazy beast at guitar.

  • I never could see the point of learning other people's solos note for note...

  • What you wanted to cover them ?

  • That's why I started learning in the first place, so I could play what I loved listening to. Most can play something that sounds like SRV but learning it note for note shows you his trademark phrasing. The deeper you dig into any song, the more appreciation you have for the songwriters and the musicians.

  • The point is, if you learn something by repeating it, eventually at some point, if you practise long enough and hard enough you master the skills to do your own stuff. It´s not rocket science in this respect, every master in each field has copied the masters before him.

    It´s called tradition.

  • I agree with you 100%. If you are playing in a tribute band, I guess you would learn and continue to play an artist's music note-for-note. By doing your best to copy/immitate the masters (or at least someone whose playing you admire), one improves/masters the execution of those techniques and over time one's own style evolves/emerges. It's a product/blend of what one learns and likes.

I'm sure this guy can play lots of things other than SRV and I'll bet he sounds darn good doing it.

  • i agree with brian. i can understand it only to a certain point: just to learn it.

but solo'ing is more of a personal thing...

  • your really good i wanna be able to play srv hes my favorite u should put out lessons

  • he has lessons, try reading

  • wow.......cool man!!!!!

  • Dude!! You are an awesome and horendous (I don't even know how to spell that word but I know what it means! THIS GUY) guitar player! I have been watching your videos for a while now and I have learned more from you in less than a year than I did taking lessons one on one every week for over 3 yrs when I was a teenager back in the 80's! If you don't do this for a living then you should What impresses me the most is your ability to cover several different types of music and do it with ease Rock on

  • You know horrendous means s h i t t y right? Like that was a horrendous P.O.S. movie? So you're saying he's crapp...

Don't you mean tremendous?? Unless you're making fun of him...

  • I am so sorry I meant TREMENDOUS!!! I think it would be impossible to say this guy sounds shitty! If someone did say that they need more than just their head checked more like their ears and their mouth for letting some words like that come out!lol There is a word that is similar to what i wrote the first time I just can't remember how it is used Jackson Brown used it in the interview that was filmed at the end of Stevie Ray Vaughan "Live at the Elmocambo" If you watch that listen to Jackson

  • Spot on, but a bit stiff ey? :o) Let her rip i say..No mercy..

  • It looks like he was purposly twisting his fingers awkwardly and abnormally to give you the clearest view possibe of what he is doing - showing you how to play it.

  • I......didnt know that was POSSIBLE. wow!

  • SRV may be a great guitarist, but nothing he does is impossible.

  • nothing is Impossible :)

  • That s spot on

  • nice.

  • amazitment

  • Cool man...good job...

  • excellent man. keep on bluesin'

  • best solo ever

  • GREAT!!!

  • unbelievable, absolutely spot on man. good stuff.

  • nice guitar!:D i'm not just saying that because i have the same one;)

  • That's just off the fuckin hook - - AWESOME !!

  • SRV is sooooo smooth.

  • Well done! 5*****! SRV will always be remembered through individuals like your self!

  • Wow. absolutely astonishing.

  • kick ass. thats the way a guitar lesson should be. No yappin. just jam.

  • how in the hell does someone write that

  • there abunch of blues licks cramed together

  • Great job!!!

  • fucking sweet!!!!

  • wow, thats awesome!

  • almost flawless! thumbs up mate, nice playin!

  • but great playin :P

  • as if i'm gonna pay to get your friggin' slooww mo videos.

i could get sotware to that. but quite frankly i think ppl would prefer to figure it out by ear, or get the free tab.

  • Very nice but, you wanna see it "dead on" watch gr8tbluesgtr do it...

    Peace

  • very interesting picking technique...

  • Very very nice !!!!

  • great playing, great song

  • The boy has done his homework. I've got the intro at 'paupur'. I prefer the second position down from the top on my Strat. Try it and see what you think.

  • this was really great, dead on. favorited!

  • Incredible, very good job!

  • Oh my gosh, freaking insane!

  • Great quality;.

  • what settings to i need on my line6 to have that sound? i play a fender strat

  • to get this sound, you need lots of middle range, so on your amp turn it up to 9 or 10, and turn the reverb to about six. keep the treble at about 7 and the bass should be at 6. To get a distortion like Stevie uses, you want an Ibanez Tube Screamer, with the volume set low, and the gain high. Use the middle pick up (the one between the neck and the bridge)and keep the tone on your guitar to 10. Thats what I use and i get a close sound, i'll post a video soon.

  • cool thanks a lot for that! Thats all possible for me except that tube screamer. I'll probably pick one up eventually just because i love pedals. lol
