  • ha, that first shot of him playing is ridiculous. Looks like a little kid playing. Don't get a td 20 and use it for rockband, use it to play actual music.

  • @dantheman9856 He got the kit to play the drums, and for fun, plays rockband on them too. Dumbass.

  • wow so does that mean the Roland TD-20 is a rockband Drum kit now not a eletric drum kit. You wasted 7 grand yo

  • @blankogotsacked The point is that if you have a Roland TD-20 you don't play Rockband...

  • Can I buy this kit from you?

  • I can't afford this set, and I really really really want the td20. I'm genuinely sad that this is what it is being used for :(

  • what´s the song at 1:40 ?

  • @MikrobeJonas go with the flow by queens of the stone age

  • Lefty drummer?

  • why would you want to play that stupid game?

    MAKE REAL MUSIC,STOP GAMING!

  • hey somebody give me some comments or something. i just put up two new covers tonight and id love some feedback. just go to my channel. thanks. peace.

  • The 2box Drumit 5 beats the shit out of TD-20. Roland doesn´t even have alternating samples!!! Check this out to see what I mean....watch?v=YpjZWujoTDY

  • try using the ion drum rocker module it does the same without ruining a controller

  • Just so you know, to get rid of that delay, just set your TV to "Game Mode".

    Great mod.

  • genius!!

  • I have the new Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock drum set (which is already jacked) and it has a detachable brain of the set and you can just plug it in your MIDI to almost any drum set i believe.

  • I've thought about doing this for a couple years. I hate when I miss some random note from time to time with rockband and I'm left wondering, "wtf?" Especially when it's a song I mix into my TD20 and play regularly anyway. My girlfriend bought me the game thinking I'd love doing the drums, but it actually drove me to quit the game after only having it a couple months. I just get angry whenever I play it.

  • how the fuck are we going to do it at 1:14

  • Getting closer.I just thought of an Idea to hide chords. The cage should be cut about a half inch underneath.Cymbal stands, should be hollowed enough to fit special,NON BREAKABLE CHORDS! hehe or better yet...make the stands the chord itself. And in the year 2549ad theres the plasma sheilded,anti-gravity,ultraset, x2600 with cymbals that are powered by cosmic rays.Your drums will make the show, will you? muwahaha.td 7 4evr

  • pussy

  • Honestly i don't fucking understand all these haters. It's not like he can't just as easily switch back to his normal v-drums and rock out with them. Wouldn't it just be nice to goof off sometimes on rockband? or if you have guest over to play along with them on BETTER drums?

  • please tell me you dont pay 7000 for a kit and just play rock band on it

  • @rmm1250 He spent 7000 dollars to play the drums, and decided, "Hey, I like rockband, wouldn't it be cool if I could use this drum kit I bought, for the game itself?" Really.... it common sense.

  • I hooked my v drums to guitar hero with a MIDI cable. the problem with that is I can't hit the rim of the hi hat or crash, I had to hit middle for it to work.

  • I was like "Sweet im totally gonna do this" until 1:10

  • rich bitch :(

  • I heard you could just use Seth's Adapter...so no soldering required...

  • You have a td-20 and your playing rockband on it.. Your going to hell.

  • so apparantly left handed drummers are fucked

  • @eastcoaster54 no, you could just as easily set that up for left handed drummers

  • YOU FAIL BECAUSE YOU PLAY FAG BAND YOU FAG

  • i really hope you didnt buy a td 20 especially for this

  • The next rock band is going to have a midi in, so you dont need to do any mods or soldering. That's going to be super sweet ! :)

  • cool can u do this with electrical tape

  • what a waiste of a INSANE electric drum set!!!!!!!! (unless you really drum with it)

  • fuck that's high latency!

  • can you do another rb video?your good and u have this EPIC set. Please?

  • I need to know how to do this wirelessly

  • I agree. With Roland TD4 is more than enough for RockBand. What a waste for yout TD20!

  • @b34rd4dlov3r How is it a waste? You can still use the TD20 normally..

  • how much was the drum set????

  • Or you could just take the built in Midi port in the guitar hero world tour drums. Set up something like this, snare-red, yellow-hi hat and first tom, blue-2rd tom and ride, orange-crash, green-crash and 3rd tom. Poof, no soldering.

  • Why is your hi-hat standing on the right side instead of th left?

  • @SuperXpress2 lefty

  • @nabdrumming It 's not a waste of the kit, it can be used to everything else it can do it's not bound to rock band when you do this

  • ok it is a waste when he does it that way, plug it via a GHWT trought midi cable and fix the number of the pads correct and it works perfect without making it Fucking hard like that

  • Comment removed

  • I have a silly question: how come your TD-20 screen can be orange-lit whereas it's originally a green backlit??

  • @Drumaster78 Mine is orange as well.

  • LOL. My thoughts exactly. That's why I'm considering do this/one of these mods. I can't stand playing that plastic piece of crap when I have a TD-20 + sitting nearby.

  • Why, just why? If you have a great v-drum kit like that, why fucken waste your time on a crappy game. Just play music.

  • Because it's fun?

  • It's really not.

  • @quathar It´s easier to read those notes than to read tabs..

  • awesome mod mate! I'm going to look into doing this myself!

  • haha dont listen to these dicks this is a Great mod and those 7000$ drums are so sexy!!

Hey dicks who know everything he can still play regularly with those drums

  • im sorry to say this but if you really did go to all that work to put an amazing set like this(at least i think it is.. i dont play drums) and modify it just to play rock band... ok can you still play it normal? if you cant then i have to agree big waste of money and time. just my opinion you can yell all you want i dont really care. cuz im getting what is this a $7000 game controller? and you say that aint a waste. right... if you cant still play it normally it was indeed.

  • No, he still can play normal

  • if that be the case than awesome job man great mod... lol

  • you seriously did all that just to play your rolands on rockband? hmm...

  • yup.

  • bellend use that kit properly!

  • The lions are coming!

  • Sorry. I meant to say:

    The limes are coming!

  • if only this idiot played the td 20 against the songs rather than played a computer game to them. biggest waste of time ever.

  • Correction: your comment and this response is the biggest waste of time ever. So, while it's great fun mocking your ignorance, I'll differ to my response below.

  • are you saving up for a four thousand dollar carrot chopper next? spoiled kid, c -.

  • No, a wood chipper. I'm going to mod you into a million pieces of idiot.

  • how many forums would it take to you to accomplish this?, yet another one of your feeble ideas.

  • "another", what are you talking about? And this isn't an idea - it's real. And awesome.

  • lol its just a game dude, obviously if he got a TD--20 he knows how to play drums.... rockband is just a game for fun.. your argument is really stupid, what would you think if i said to you "ohh man call of duty is a waste of time! why dont you go to irak and die like a mofo?" ... get my point?..

  • To you idiot douchebags-Let's be clear. Playing RB with your TD-20 is fun. You can jam out to songs that you love and play with friends, etc. You can then play your TD-20 with real sounds(the real way) to drumless tracks which is even more fun. This does nothing at all to damage your E-kit. Funny that you guys insult intelligence but aren't smart enough to see the simple midi-out from the TD-20.

  • lol

    gr8 idea

  • No offence man, but you could not possibly be intelligent enough to be earning a salary high enough to pay for a td-20, if you're playing with it on Rockband......

  • @PlatinumRaptor wow your a fucking fail

your 11 years old and your insult this guy

  • It's hilarious that you started that sentence with 'No offence.' Listen genius, are you so ignorant to think I bought these drums for rockband?

  • i love your choice in songs, best ones in the game

  • and who ever has the time to pointlessly troll has no life whatsoever

  • @PunkRockStarFilms its actually pretty easy, it doesnt even take that long

  • Mucho puerco....... videos como este son los q llegan a dar muy mala imagen de un producto ha! y eso tiene latencia x si no lo ha notado.........!!!! y aprenda a tocar betaria o percussion primero........grandisimo puerco.....you play like a pig.....

  • you know there is an easier way... just connect a midi cable to the world tour/band hero drums and the other end into the td12/20, press install, f3, f4, then go down to midi, then change each pad's midi settings to however you want.

    Bass: 36

    Red: 38

    Yellow: 46

    Blue: 48

    Green: 45

and Orange for Guitar Hero: 49

  • @ComedyCommunity The Ghwt kit didnt come out when this video was made o_o

  • This is 100x better than those piece-of-crap toys they give you and call a drum kit. Who the heck wants to pay $100 for a Guitar Hero drum kit from Target?? That's how much I paid for my basic drum kit I got from a garage sale about a year ago. The drums they rip you off with are just a bunch of noisy pads and cymbals and a plastic pedal, all of which suck and break easily cause they're so cheap.

  • I'm confused by your comparison of Nirvana at the end. Why are the notes missing on the right?

  • Can you use it for Guitar Hero World tour too ?

  • Awesome. That's how the game is meant to be played. I fucking hate the shitty drums that come with Rock Band and Guitar Hero. They're an insult to drummers everywhere. Poor layout, shitty rebound, to much pad noise...garbage.

  • @conker3685 A video game peripheral that costs $350 dollars would be an insult too. If those things aren't reasonably priced nobody is going to buy them. Remember, it's a video game first, an instrument second.

  • @conker3685 lol, well, their plastic, 5 button excuse of a "guitar' isn't much better. The game is an insult to anyone that plays a real instrument. haha. It sure is easy to play though when you do play the real instrument. Then it's like playing an LOLeasy version of it. I play a real guitar and a drum set, and i find the game so easy lol

  • or you can get a GHWT drum set and connect to that

  • lmao i love how this guy says u have to destroy ur drum brain to do this...all u need is a midi cable wit 5 prongs and a actual rockband drum kit (stock 1, 2, or ions) then just plug midi cable into the rb drum kit and electronic kit and ur good.

(in simple terms. u plug a cable into the rb drum kit and then other end into the electronic kit)

  • Do you think i modded my td-brain?

  • Cool idea dude

  • u ust be rich- a roland drum kit, hdmi elite xbox 360 plasma tv and live.

  • where do you see the hdmi elite?

    not rich.

  • ahh i see wat u did...srry for harpin on u like that but u dont need the decoder thing...just hook the midi up from the TD-20 brain straight into the rb brain. also where did u get ur TD-20's and how much?

  • r u insane i wud not fuck up my actual drumz to do this

  • You do not mud the actual drumset in any way. All you do is connect a midi cable from the drum brain to his board.

  • I would be horribly afraid of modding a $5,000 kit and updating firmware. If these things are anything like Routers and other electrical devices, there is a possibility of bricking the system and it will stop working. Is there any risk to doing this modding? I'm saving up for one of these kits to record, gig, etc. with but I also figure I could use it for rock band :).

  • You think I modded the td-20 drum brain?

  • no technically but u soldered wires to the brain wen u dont have to do that. just buy the MIDI w/ 5 prongs on it. my friend already did this w/ his Roland TD-9. he pluged the cable into his rb drum kit and the other end of the plug into his roland kit and it worked fine

  • Watch the video again. I didn't solder anything to the td-20. I just used the midi from the brain. That's all.

  • I would have rather purchased the MIDI to USB adapter instead of tearing up an existing controller. for everyone that thinks its stupid to use a TD-20 kit and waste of time: If you get into expert mode of any of these games, its likely that you need the responsiveness of a real-drum kit. The Rockband pedals and pads are complete crap. Ive broken my bass pedal many times and rigged a real bass drum pedal for better control and speed.

  • I dunno about the rockband drums, but I'm sure they aren't too terribly far off from the gh drums. And I can play gh on expert just fine without real e-drums.

  • man im to poor to get any of that stuff nice vid!

  • your smart lol

  • i would never mod my TD20 not worth the risk, to much money to replay a item like a TD20 unless your rich avoid this mod at all cost.

  • you don't mod the td 20 with this mod

  • is this lefty

  • you're using ROLAND TD20 for these things .. but since you have money to throw away sends to me that I can not even buy a normal battery

  • can you also connect an other electrick drumkit to your xbox or do you must have one from the roland serie?

  • wtf the drums are hooked up via vga?

  • It looks nice, dont get me wrong.

But when you get over carried away with more then just the bass pedal I see everyone getting, why not just save up for an actual drumset?

  • an electronic set is an actual drumset <__<

  • Yezh, it , may be a drum set, but to older drummers its not the same thing. Doesnt give the same noise as you touch it, doesnt give that rock feeling to it. I dunno if that makes sense to you or not.

  • no not really. times change. feels just fine. ya gotta adapt.

  • Yep, I got my V Drums a while ago all my acoustic drum buddies are envying me lawl mesh pads ftw trust me you won't be able to tell the difference and it way better, less noise and more rocking out!

  • Well, if you live in an apartment or somewhere you need to be kind of quiet then an Electric Kit is a drummer's dream. It doesn't really have the same sound to it but it's still much better than nothing.

  • OK so give me sense here plz:

    You have a $6000 drumkit.

    and you go play Rockband?...

  • Yes. And your question doesn't make sense. Are you implying that, in spite of having a good drum set, I should still use the Rockband toy kit?

  • Is you're kit still useable for normal use?

    If so:

I could understand why you moded it.

    But,

    With such a awesome kit,

You wouldn't find me plating Rockband

  • Most people who play drums and play Rock Band don't play Rock Band to mimic their drumming experience. It's just a fun rhythm game to play and when you've got a good kit to play it with, it's a lot more fun to do. Personally I play Rock Band 2 with my Roland kit but I still play drums without Rock Band 2, I just enjoy playing rhythm games. The kit still works just fine normally, but if you're playing Rock Band you just put it on the Rock Band setting.

  • If you like to do that than I won't be stopping you ofc :)

  • Yeah, I know. I just wanted to give you a little reasoning as why it is still fun to play Rock Band when you have the skills to do real drumming.

  • Ok ^^

Well I do understand why you would do this though ;P

  • Doesn't A TD-20 have 4 toms?

  • Yes, it does. Doesn't do you a lot of good with RockBand, tho.

  • Now if only you could hook the roland ax synth to guitar hero, lol.

  • wow how do u do it?

  • If I could afford a TD-20 the last thing I'd be doing with them is playing rock band. I mean, it's cool, and you obviously have technical skills to be able to do that...but come on...really? Oh well, if you're having fun that's all that matters.

  • Yes, really. I don't know about you, but the last thing I'd want to do, as a drummer, is NOT play my real kit. Are you implying that, in spite of having a good drum set, I should still use the Rockband toy kit? Really?

  • BURN..ive been playing for 9 years..ive played with bands like ozzy and metalica (not on tour) if i were to play rockband i would much rather prefer this kit..porops to you for figuring this out bro

  • You're lying.

  • Hey man, cool mod..

How much would TD-20's be in Canadian Dollars? TD-12s? Any with Mesh heads..

  • Too much man... xD your looking at around over 2 grand I'm getting a TD-4K or 9K soon and that is already 1,299 and 1,799 and these are ONLY mesh snare you could probably buy it set itself w/o the drum brain for alot less but honestly I'm pretty sure you're gonna want to jam on em as well.

  • I have a TD-20.. and I would totally use it like this... would be nice to be able to play Rock Band on something that can take abuse, and use a real kick pedal.

  • f@%king SICK. I didnt even think about trying to do that. Thanks.

  • I have this set - and call me old fashion - but I learn the tunes by listening to them. The brain has an input to plug in your stereo/CD player that runs right through the headphones. It's great in that I can play at midnight and still not bother my neighbors!

  • i basically do exactly wut u do, i have a td-20 and i run my ipod right thru the brain and play it by ear.

  • not the same expeierence

  • isn't that a waste of money?

  • Not if you're already a drummer with a drum set who wants to play rock band on it..

  • and anyways u can always turn off the console and practice by ur self

  • Comment removed

  • ...god damn south paw...

  • why does everyone make a big deal out of that....

  • south paw is beast

  • Which tutorial did you use to do this mod?

  • RB drums make the least noise, in case you havn't noticed, real drum sets are 10X louder than the RB set

  • Acoustic drums are not the electric ones.

  • lefty!

  • I would SO do that if I had the money...

  • Man thats cool, you are my hero!

  • Man, you got the ULTIMATE! EDrum set! Why the fuck do you play crapy sounding Music on Rockband?

  • Did you just hate on Wheezer QOTSA and Nirvana while failing at spelling and grammar?

  • i wonder if the geek squad can help me setup my set with rockband

  • Grow up, stupid...

  • you are ridiculous. whats your problem with having fun in life huh?

  • @ bloodclots99

That was a reply to the spam from "pie65576" and had nothing to do with thie video.

  • oooh ok sorry then:P

  • @ 23aztek

it doesn't have to i just chose to copy and paste a message did it come out of the monitor and punch you in the face and ate your relatives and family If it did then buy a new monitor

  • @ pie65576

Get a life for christ sake.

  • You chose to copy a message like this? How old are you, 8? I'm sure I won't die because of this, and if I do, then I guess I'll see you in hell....stupid.

  • Whoa i didn't mean to a disturbance it was one comment lots of videos have them. So why are you going to crucify me while many other people make these comments............. and is this a sin to paste this message. Because you said i'll go to hell. P.S- I'm an atheist

  • me too, but i dont get why ppl do that

  • oye disculpa para conenctar le modulo control del rock band a la bateria roland necesitas tambien los cables? o el puro modulo?

  • The td 20 is, by far, the most expensive drum kit in the market. Please forgive me for thinking this way...but using it to play video games...well...

  • I'm not sure I understand your comment. Do you think I ONLY play rockband? As a drummer, does it make more sense to use the stock rb kit? Is that what you mean? It sounds more like you have a prejudice against rockband or video games in general.

  • No, no...of course its not about video games. But that drum kit its a proffesional machine. Its only that using it as a video game is a little strange to me. Its like buying a real bazooka to play Qake or Call of Duty...Its just that. Please dont take offense becouse of my words.

  • No offense taken. I just still think you might be a little confused. 1) I didn't buy the drums for the game - I already had them. Spending 8k for a game would be excessive. 2) I hope you wouldn't buy a bazooka in ANY circumstance... BUT you'd agree that using a more realistic peripheral is preferable. 3) Consider the plastic shotgun or sword that hold the WII controller. Or even the steering wheels for racing games.

  • i hot wired the bazooka to the controller via copper cables wrapped with tape, then shot it at the tv. took out half my house...but the game ended so i think i won..j/k i bought the ion for rockband, and im going to switch the snare pad with a roland, and the symbals with rolands and get the td brain

  • 4) And finally, if you think a LESS realistic experience is MORE fun, then I can understand why you think this is strange. Otherwise - thanks for the debate :)
