This is great news and with the right marketing (alerting people of it) it could reduce crime. One issue is if you want to be annonymous sendes, the cops could probably trace your call and track you down, the police need to assure New Yorkers that they will not track you down, as far as tracking the call, it is needed to pinpoint where the event had happened.
