  • Hi, I know how you feel. I had my surgery October 21, 2009. It has been a little over 2 months and I've had 1 fill which was 2cc. I get my second fill on the 5th of January. I have lost 14 lbs so far and it has not dropped in the past month. Actually I gained 3 lbs over the holidays. I'm getting tired of waiting for the fills to get good restriction. They will only do one a month. Waiting is the hardest thing.

  • Thanks...I hear ya about the fills...I am able to have the fills every 2 weeks if needed, probably because i was self pay so there is no extra charge for a fill....good luck

  • Thanks Wendy

  • it happens.. . it was a small gain. this is when you need to dig deep into your mental "tool box" and not let a small gain get you down. it was the holiday and sweets are EVERYWHERE! Restriction is ONLY a part of the game. Exercise + good food choices and controlling the portions (when the band does not) are HARD and take WORK! Skip the bagel. why eat it? PROTEIN 1ST. Go back to the rules. . .trust me! This is when you start LOVING your band, cuz you will not gain 10 lbs, just 1. :)

  • keep your head held high ... You will loose weight and the restriction will come! Keep smiling!

  • I totally understand what you are going through. I didnt have any restriction for 4 1/2 months. I still managed to lose about 50lbs during that time but it was HARD. I stayed at 1,000 calories, and excercised at least 3 times a week. The holidays are always rough, but it will soon be over. Anyone who ever said that lapband is taking the easy way out, didnt know what they were talking about. Keep up the good work.

  • Thanks seemego2150

  • aww sorry you're feeling down, but don't beat yourself up too bad-you have no restriction!! it does get easier when you get the restriction-a lot easier, at least when it comes to eating less-not so much on the sweets. although i must say that i have a lot of trouble with milk chocolate, etc. it plugs things up in my stomach-that's a plus. your bagel days will be gone soon-no fear! hang in there.check out my weights on my page. they fluxuated a lot in the beginning. it's a learning process.

  • Thanks Judy

  • yes i am off the sugar and I guess thats why i feel like crap..... thanks

  • Congrats on still keeping your "good" choices. I know what you mean about restriction... I, too, do not have much restriction. One pound is not so bad. It will come off very easy. Take care. :-)

  • Sugar is evil! It zaps our energy and starts a vicious cycle that is sooo hard to snap out of. As you know, get away from them for a few days and you will not only feel better but also be thinking more clearly.
