I have my own theory about what this song means...it is one large tribute to John Lennon's music. In other words...the first three piano notes are a tribute to John's songs on Double Fantasy that begin with the bell ringing: "(Just Like) Starting Over," and "Beautiful Boy." The words "Life is Real" are a tribute to John's song "Love" which begins, "Love is real, real is love."
