Here we have a good example of an overrated car from the manufacturer vs an underrated one. the 335i is doing more than 300hp at the crank and it dyno's 300lb-ft of torque at the WHEELS. My 2007 Altima 6-speed can only manage to barely tie with the 335xi(AWD) from 40mph - 115mph. The G35 only puts down around 215whp especially with an Automatic. There's no chance of this running with a 335i
G stock has 225whp 5AT, 245 whp for the 6MT 03-06 coupe. with bolt ons no the G is still slower unless you have the haltech with cams then the G is equal. i have a single gt35 turbo G35 coupe ~ under 400whp and im not being cocky wen i say this but on the hwy i beat the new M3. from the go i do have lots of wheel spin but a 335i even fully done up would not beat the G. the turbos go on the 335i if its chipped by non bmw certified chips aka dinan which only gives 330whp not 380 like other chips

i know a few ppl with 335i's and most of them run in the mid to high 300whp. most Gs run the same thing but they can go over 400whp if they wanted to. either way tuned you get roughly the same speed from both cars, iv seen a few Gs run big power with a stock block and beat 335i's and more but for how long they can run that power for im sure lots of ppl can tell you that there are a lot of Gs blowing engines out there me included and i wasnt running to much power. now at 350whp and its enough
i have a g35 coupe and really it was no match for the 335 stock, and for ppl saying that the G35 is cheaper and for that money you can get faster then the 335, i put a turbo on my G35 and it runs 15k to properly do up and the G is exactly that much cheaper then the 335 but then maintaining a turboed car is not cheap wen parts go .problems you would of not had if you got a 335 to being with. i still rather have the G, its faster then a modded 335, and i dont like bmw but thats a personal choice.

@suprattmtfkr did you know if you deck out a 335is to a reasonable comparision with a GT-R the price is over 70k? That includes 19in rims, navi, dual clutch tranny, speakers, spoilers etc....a gtr starts about 84k so the price difference is about 18% difference not that big of a price difference matey. And as far as a better car all round it just depends on the driver i test drove the fuck out of every similar in the skylines class and i chose it for a reason in my opinion G37>335i

@myuzz fast is an understatment considering speedwise Nissan eats out BMWs. G37(5.2) is bout as fast as a 335i(5.1), M57(4.9) is faster significantly faster than a BMW 550i(5.7), Ex37(5.8) eats out X3(6.9), Fx50(5.0) vs the X5 50i(5.3), again GT-R(3.3) faster than the M6(4.5), 370z(4.7*motortrend*) vs Z4 35i(5.0). There is no vehicle comparison for BMX's 1 series, 7 series, or X6.

TT 335i > G35/G37. I don't why even compare, in the first place. I like JDM cars but the 335i is just too fast. People think G35 is the shit or 350z is the shit. erhh wrong they called it that to compete with the 3.5 class it makes much more low end torque than the g which is why it will when off the line I believe their final drive is also 4.1 as in contrast to the G's 3.8 if you buy the 4.1 final drive for the g it will increase acceleration by 15 percent which I think would def wipe out the FI engine with just a simple n/a upgrade of course on the other hand if you chip the 335 you might see more power vs the g since it has two turbos
I've owned plenty of cars over the last thirty some years that I've been legally driving, everything from American muscle to the latest fastest Japanese, even a Ferrari 328 (Ok, that was a fun car), and nothing, I mean nothing, does it all like this vehicle for the price. Dont even think of buying a g35, just break down and spend the extra few grand for Christ sake, It'll come back to you in spades.

wow cool guys in the 335i. i dont think so. lets take a modern 335i twin turbo and race a older model G35 thats an even race LOL. i had installed a stillen stage 1 supercharger in my G35 and had no problem taking 335i's and M3's. i have recently upgraded to the stage 3. Next mission keeping up with BMW's M6 that ones gonna be tougher
I not sure about bmw m-3's as being as good as ya'll say. I had a 89 Porshe 944 S2 and i used to walk m3's not big time walking, but was about 2mpg faster throughout the acceleration band from 0-topspeed and always had a higher top end@175mph. My Porhse had 215hp (german specs) and the M-3 was german specs. Plus the porshe handled just as good. Now see a 350z can beat a m-3 on the Nurburgring and any other track, but its "what can you bring to the car? Not what can the car bring to you!"
That is Correct, the 3L inline 6 twin.t motor won international engine of the year for the <3L category, while the M5 donk won the award for performance engines.
The fantastic thing about the N54 twin turbo is that it uses 2 small turbos ( Not 2 big whoppers as in a skyline) that only boost 3 cylinders each- at any one time only 3 cylinders are boosted-the other 3 N/A. This gives it an N/A feel, great throttle responce, and virtually no lag. It may only make 300hp but its a sublime motor.

The new 335i has a state of the art 3L (that's smaller than the new G37) twin turbo engine that has won numerous awards. The torque curve is awesome with peak power under 2K RPM and continuing close to redline. It was not the "easy way"...lol. It is a I6 giving the performance of a large V8.

Plus, on the track it gets even worse. Proven by you on a track?...lol...you must have been racing a novice. The cost difference is huge, but you usually get what you pay for. The M3 and 350Z are not even in the same category. Maybe you raced an M3 built in the 1980's...your Z could probably beat that.

I'd love to see who you're racing, but any E46 M3 should SMOKE your 350Z in a straight line or on a track. Same story with the new 335i. It isn't even close. Even the new G37S with 330 HP is slower than both the E46 M3 and the 335i...and that car is faster than your Z. I like the 350Z, but it would take some SERIOUS mods to make it compete with the E46 M3 or 335i in any race.
koukiR32...also, all you have to do is watch the video above to see how quickly the 335i pulls on a G35, which should be slightly faster than your 350Z. Trust me, ask one of the E46 M3 drivers you're racing if you can drive their car. You'll see that there is no comparison in terms of speed, handling and feel.

I raced an evo MR stock at a roll from 50-120 and i beat it by 1/2CL. I was surprised but from 0mph it would have beaten me cause of it's awd. But that was when mine was stock. I just ordered the juicebox2 with the bms intake and it's awesome!

I'm planning on getting the dinan software and oil cooler soon...my car stinks cause it's limited at 135mph cause it didnt come with the sport pkg...so even if i soup it up with aftermarket crap like the juicebox...it'll rocket to 135...and just halt at 4000 rpm..and plus it voids warranty and I wouldnt want to uninstall it everytime i get it serviced while the dinan has warranty

Then you try to compare a 335i to a Turbo g35 or g35? of course the Infinitys are gonna be faster cus they have a butload of work done to them, at that point you need to compare them to upgraded turbo 335i's. get a life ....

Here we have a good example of an overrated car from the manufacturer vs an underrated one. the 335i is doing more than 300hp at the crank and it dyno's 300lb-ft of torque at the WHEELS. My 2007 Altima 6-speed can only manage to barely tie with the 335xi(AWD) from 40mph - 115mph. The G35 only puts down around 215whp especially with an Automatic. There's no chance of this running with a 335i

G stock has 225whp 5AT, 245 whp for the 6MT 03-06 coupe. with bolt ons no the G is still slower unless you have the haltech with cams then the G is equal. i have a single gt35 turbo G35 coupe ~ under 400whp and im not being cocky wen i say this but on the hwy i beat the new M3. from the go i do have lots of wheel spin but a 335i even fully done up would not beat the G. the turbos go on the 335i if its chipped by non bmw certified chips aka dinan which only gives 330whp not 380 like other chips

i know a few ppl with 335i's and most of them run in the mid to high 300whp. most Gs run the same thing but they can go over 400whp if they wanted to. either way tuned you get roughly the same speed from both cars, iv seen a few Gs run big power with a stock block and beat 335i's and more but for how long they can run that power for im sure lots of ppl can tell you that there are a lot of Gs blowing engines out there me included and i wasnt running to much power. now at 350whp and its enough

i have a g35 coupe and really it was no match for the 335 stock, and for ppl saying that the G35 is cheaper and for that money you can get faster then the 335, i put a turbo on my G35 and it runs 15k to properly do up and the G is exactly that much cheaper then the 335 but then maintaining a turboed car is not cheap wen parts go .problems you would of not had if you got a 335 to being with. i still rather have the G, its faster then a modded 335, and i dont like bmw but thats a personal choice.

@suprattmtfkr did you know if you deck out a 335is to a reasonable comparision with a GT-R the price is over 70k? That includes 19in rims, navi, dual clutch tranny, speakers, spoilers etc....a gtr starts about 84k so the price difference is about 18% difference not that big of a price difference matey. And as far as a better car all round it just depends on the driver i test drove the fuck out of every similar in the skylines class and i chose it for a reason in my opinion G37>335i

@myuzz fast is an understatment considering speedwise Nissan eats out BMWs. G37(5.2) is bout as fast as a 335i(5.1), M57(4.9) is faster significantly faster than a BMW 550i(5.7), Ex37(5.8) eats out X3(6.9), Fx50(5.0) vs the X5 50i(5.3), again GT-R(3.3) faster than the M6(4.5), 370z(4.7*motortrend*) vs Z4 35i(5.0). There is no vehicle comparison for BMX's 1 series, 7 series, or X6.

sikkstreets, yes the 335i is turbo but it's a 3.0L engine. That's why they call it a 335 since it develops as much horsepower as a 3.5L

erhh wrong they called it that to compete with the 3.5 class it makes much more low end torque than the g which is why it will when off the line I believe their final drive is also 4.1 as in contrast to the G's 3.8 if you buy the 4.1 final drive for the g it will increase acceleration by 15 percent which I think would def wipe out the FI engine with just a simple n/a upgrade of course on the other hand if you chip the 335 you might see more power vs the g since it has two turbos

I've owned plenty of cars over the last thirty some years that I've been legally driving, everything from American muscle to the latest fastest Japanese, even a Ferrari 328 (Ok, that was a fun car), and nothing, I mean nothing, does it all like this vehicle for the price. Dont even think of buying a g35, just break down and spend the extra few grand for Christ sake, It'll come back to you in spades.

Well, Merc is cool, but they aren't that reliable either. Not to mention the costly repairs.
Companies like BMW and MB aren't really top of the food chain anymore. Brands like Lexus, and even dare I say Hyundai(Genesis) are really giving them a run for their money.
The only Merc's I like are some of the AMG models.

wow cool guys in the 335i. i dont think so. lets take a modern 335i twin turbo and race a older model G35 thats an even race LOL. i had installed a stillen stage 1 supercharger in my G35 and had no problem taking 335i's and M3's. i have recently upgraded to the stage 3. Next mission keeping up with BMW's M6 that ones gonna be tougher

I not sure about bmw m-3's as being as good as ya'll say. I had a 89 Porshe 944 S2 and i used to walk m3's not big time walking, but was about 2mpg faster throughout the acceleration band from 0-topspeed and always had a higher top end@175mph. My Porhse had 215hp (german specs) and the M-3 was german specs. Plus the porshe handled just as good. Now see a 350z can beat a m-3 on the Nurburgring and any other track, but its "what can you bring to the car? Not what can the car bring to you!"

I beat 350Z's and G35's with my 1996 M3. And all it has is exhaust/intake/test pipes.

That is Correct, the 3L inline 6 twin.t motor won international engine of the year for the <3L category, while the M5 donk won the award for performance engines.
The fantastic thing about the N54 twin turbo is that it uses 2 small turbos ( Not 2 big whoppers as in a skyline) that only boost 3 cylinders each- at any one time only 3 cylinders are boosted-the other 3 N/A. This gives it an N/A feel, great throttle responce, and virtually no lag. It may only make 300hp but its a sublime motor.

Are you guys insinuating that BMW cannot build an N/A engine to equal the VQ35 block?
As far as I know the old 3.2 litre in the E46 put out considerably more power and torque whilst being 300c smaller in capacity haha.
Meanwhile, the M cars are all N/A whilst Nissans Flagships are always twin turbo ie the GTR... The GTR is a phenominal car though.
Bmw chose to do a I6TT because they wanted a quick solution to an existing engine that was undersized in comparison to its competition...

KoukiR32...what are you talking about? The last generation M3 put out more HP and was smaller cc. The new 335i has a state of the art 3L (that's smaller than the new G37) twin turbo engine that has won numerous awards. The torque curve is awesome with peak power under 2K RPM and continuing close to redline. It was not the "easy way"...lol. It is a I6 giving the performance of a large V8.

Yeah, the old M3 right? But u failed to mention how much more it cost compared to the 350Z? Not to mention stock 350Z can easily keep up with an M3 on a track or straight line. It relatively close race actually.

No...no...no. What are you smoking? The 350Z is a nice car, but it goes 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds and the 1/4 mile in over 14. The OLD M3 does 4.8 and low 13's. Not even close. Plus, on the track it gets even worse. Proven by you on a track?...lol...you must have been racing a novice. The cost difference is huge, but you usually get what you pay for. The M3 and 350Z are not even in the same category. Maybe you raced an M3 built in the 1980's...your Z could probably beat that.

You are absolutely right. However, just goes to show how ignorant and impetent E46 M3 drivers are. I don't even need to be an expert to beat them, (It's actually a group of E46 M3's) And yes, it was a wee bit faster on the straight but so what? Just goes to prove with the same amt of money invested in the 350Z which makes me embarress those M3 even more.

koukiR32...the E46 M3 was a wee bit faster?...the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times show it is significantly faster. I'd love to see who you're racing, but any E46 M3 should SMOKE your 350Z in a straight line or on a track. Same story with the new 335i. It isn't even close. Even the new G37S with 330 HP is slower than both the E46 M3 and the 335i...and that car is faster than your Z. I like the 350Z, but it would take some SERIOUS mods to make it compete with the E46 M3 or 335i in any race.

koukiR32...also, all you have to do is watch the video above to see how quickly the 335i pulls on a G35, which should be slightly faster than your 350Z. Trust me, ask one of the E46 M3 drivers you're racing if you can drive their car. You'll see that there is no comparison in terms of speed, handling and feel.

chrismd7, i woudln't go so far as to say handling and feel. speed maybe, but not the other two. as far as g35 being slightly faster than the z, should be the other way around. z will leave a g35.

anyways i have an 03 g35. I wouldnt even bother taking it up against a 335i. i love my car but i know when im outclassed

lol are u sure? I mean the 330 is nice and shiet w/ 255 hp. but in a race wont the 350z slightly be ahead? I think you'd be more satisfied with the 335i if u want speed but for comfort, any bimmer all the way. I'm a huge fan of bimmers after I got my 335i. I raced an evo MR stock at a roll from 50-120 and i beat it by 1/2CL. I was surprised but from 0mph it would have beaten me cause of it's awd. But that was when mine was stock. I just ordered the juicebox2 with the bms intake and it's awesome!

Yah the 335i is a sweet car, im in the middle of buying a 02 m3 right now. But my 330i will take my friends g35 coupe, and sure feels faster then my 03 z i had.

damnn hell yeah. bmws have so much technology that you'll outbeat a car that has 30 more hp cause of it's efficiency. I'm planning on getting the dinan software and oil cooler soon...my car stinks cause it's limited at 135mph cause it didnt come with the sport pkg...so even if i soup it up with aftermarket crap like the juicebox...it'll rocket to 135...and just halt at 4000 rpm..and plus it voids warranty and I wouldnt want to uninstall it everytime i get it serviced while the dinan has warranty

more like sold ur 350Z for a 335ci right? I mean I'm sure that 350Z is faster than the E46 330CI right? The reason why 335ci came out is because they know with Normally Aspirated engine they can't out perform the pwr from the VQ35. So they went the easy way with Twin Turbo. I'd like to see u beat a Twin Turbo equipped 350Z or G35 Coupe for that matter?
